I never had acne as a teenager so I was quite troubled when adult acne started to appear. I used many "acne systems" only to have the acne return. It always came back with a vengenace red, itchy and inflamed and painful. Dermatologist visits resulted in taking antibiotics on a daily basis which I am not willing to do. A friend of mine had been using philosophy products for years and swears by anything philosophy. I went on line to do some research of my own and checked out all of the product descriptions. Philosophy does have its own acne system--I tried it but it was not quite what I was looking for. I finally decided to give this purity cleanser a try because almost every review raved about it. It does not have a perfumey smell. Just a mild and clean scent. I do not have to use an additional eye make up remover or lipstick remover. The consistency is somewhere between gel and cream. It does not lather and get into your eyes. My face just felt clean. Well it has been near 6 months and my skin looks sooo good. Break outs have been rare to none. I still get oily and shiny by midday. But i guess not to the point where my skin is congested and then breaks out. I have since incorporated other philosophy products into my daily routine. Since this is about Purity cleanser-- you will just have to wait for me to post reviews on those as well. The only con with Philosophy Purity Cleanser is that it does cost more than your average drug store line. Pro is that a little goes a long way and cost saving super sizes are available. It is worth a try. I know that a travel size bottle is available for starters. THIS IS A WINNER!
