I received the Philips IPOD tower as a christmas present to bring back to my college dorm room.  I had used the Bose IPOD speakers that are shaped like a circular disc for years but I was looking for something with a little stronger sound that i ould use to set the IPOD up in a common area nad play it for a large group of people.  The sound quality on the circular speakers just didn't cut it when I turned it up.  I love the Philips tower.  It charges that ipod and does not over heat, even after housrs of use.  the tower was easy to install and set up.  All I needed was a philips screw driver to attach the base.  The tower also has subwoffers and I have found that they help regulate the sound quality.  The tower is also slim and vertical so it does not take up much space at all.  You have to be standing to change songs on the tower since the IPOD sits on top but other adjustments can easily be made through the remote that comes with the tower
