I love this TV!! The picture is so clear, and the sound is excellent!! I first bought the Visio, but returned it, and got this one. Am so happy I did!! This tv plays beautiful. If I happen to get another one, it will definitely be the same one. Highly recommend this tv. Picture Quality Beautiful, clear picture, no hazing or lines. Sound Quality Clear stereo or mono sound. I have surround sound , so it's just so clear too. Durability Very nicely made, not cheap looking. Design beautiful design. Performance Best tv I ever owned. So pleased with it.

The television I have in my bedroom is a **Philips - 42PFL7422D/37 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV**, and I have to say that I am very disappointed in this product. I have only had this set for about three years and it wasn't inexpensive in the least, yet for some unknown reason there are strange black marks on the screen. They started out as one very small black "mark" but have now grown into several large marks that are very visible when a program has scenes that are dark in color. It's distracting and aggravating. Of course the first black streak showed it's ugly face almost immediately after the manufacturer's warranty was up. (Imagine that, right?) The black distortions on the screen aren't visible when the picture on the screen is a bright color, thank goodness, and I love everything else about this LCD HD Flat Screen tv, including the large 42 inch screen. The sound is great, the color is bright and vivid, and it has great features. I thoroughly enjoy having this large screen television in my bedroom and the streaks don't bother me enough to make me want to trash it, but because of the streaks, I won't be buying a Philips set again in the future and I definitely can't recommend this model. Let me be perfectly clear--this set has never been dropped, had any magnets anywhere near it, been cleaned with any chemicals, or been moved around a lot. The problem is with the set itself, and did not occur because of anything that was done to it after it was purchased. It's a manufacturer's defect without a doubt, but there's nothing I can do about it since the warranty has expired. It is less than four years old and it's always been treated very well and with great care. I certainly won't buy this model again, and will even go so far as to say that my experience with it has ensured that I won't purchase any model of a Philips television in the future. I could never in good conscious recommend this product to anyone. Picture Quality The color is vivid and the picture is very clear...with the exception of those growing ugly black marks that are very apparent when the picture on the screen is a light color or a very dark color. It's terrible and very distracting. Sound Quality The sound quality is wonderful! I even enjoy listening to music using this television. It sounds as good or better as many stereos that I've owned over the years. Durability Since black blobs started showing on the screen when the set was barely a year old and continue to get worse, I would have to say that the quality of this television is terrible! Design I like the large screen, the slim design, and the matching stand. I don't have any problems with the way this television is designed. Performance As I previously stated, the black marks on the screen cause me to say that the performance is terrible. If there were no black blobs, I would consider the performance of this set to be terrific.
