I like the children's pepto bismol tablets because they are handy to have and a lot easier to give to kids then other medicine. My kids hate taking liquid medicine and gag as I give it to them. This is much easier to get down. They just chew them up quick and swallow. That being said my kids really don't like the taste and don't think they have a good bubble gum taste. It tastes more like pepto bismol still. That being said these are very easy to have on hand. I can pop them in my purse for travelling in case car sickness comes up and they are handy to just have if you need them quickly. I would buy them again. I like that they ease my kid's upset stomach and help the stomach calm down. It seems like there aren't a lot of choices when it comes to stomach medicine, especially for kids, so I will probably stick with these. Effectiveness I think that this medicine works for stomach problems. It seems to help the problem and come to aid and calm the stomach. Ease of Use These are super easy to use and take. I like the chewable tablets much better. They are much faster and easier to get kids to take. Immediacy I would say that this medicine works in a decent amount of time. It calms the stomach pretty quickly.

I always have to keep pepto bismol children's chewable tablets bubble gum flavor in my medicine cabinet. I always feel so bad when my kids don't feel well that I wish I could take their pain away. When they have an upset stomach I give them some children's pepto and they feel better within minutes. Even when we are shopping in the store my daughter will ask me if we have children's pepto at home and if we do not, she makes sure I always get some. We have all seen the commericials for adult Pepto Bismal and I admit I have had to go running to the medicine cabinet once or twice myself for relief from upset stomach and well --- all the other things that go with it. Recently one of my children had a bout of stomach trouble and I reached for the relief I have used for myself, but now they make it in a children's formula, **Pepto Bismol Children's, Chewable Tablets**.  **Pepto Bismol Children's, Chewable Tablets** are designed to treat:  - Heartburn - Acid indigestion - Sour stomach - Upset stomach due to these symptoms or overindulgence in food and drink This is a big help especially after birthday parties and playdates!  The Active Ingredient in **Pepto Bismol Children's, Chewable Tablets** (in each caplet) is Calcium carbonate 400 mg.  There are two flavors available, we are still working our way through bubble gum which is a big hit in our household (my younger child wants "her medicine" when her sister needs one).   My pediatrician did not recommend this treatment for my daughters upset stomach and vomiting, she said she preferred Mylanta because of the inactive ingredients in **Pepto Bismal Children's Chewable Tablets**.  I can use it, but she understands my concerns and desire to use less "harmful" products - look at the inactive ingredients and you would understand her concerns.  It is important to provide the correct dosage for your child, consult your doctor and the label before providing this medication.  **What are the concerns about  Pepto Bismal Children's Chewable Tablets?** These inactive ingredients: flavor, magnesium stearate, mannitol, povidone, red 27 aluminum lake, sorbitol, sugar, talc.  Unfortunately I can't give **Pepto Bismal Children's Chewable Tablets** a higher rating because of these ingredients.  I hate the idea that my daughter would be getting these things in her body, and now understand what my doctor meant by "other things you don't want your child to have in her medicine."  Yes, it provided relief and I was happy to have that relief when we needed it, but this is a antacid that will be used sparingly in our household.  As with all medications, consult your doctor or pediatrician before using.  Would I recommend? it depends.

To help eliminate the discomfort, several manufacturers make medicines exclusively for children and one of them is **Children's Pepto Bubblegum Flavor**, a medicine for stomach pain.  ** ****Medicine Commentary:**Children's Pepto Bubblegum Flavor is a chewable antacid, flavored with bubblegum to make the taste as appealing to children as possible. These tablets are manufactured with ingredients designed to relieve acid indigestion, heartburn, sour stomach, or stomach pain caused by excessive eating. Unlike regular Pepto Bismol, these tablets do not treat diarrhea. Their use is intended solely for stomach pain relief. I have two little girls and they occasionally experience stomach pain, usually due to overindulgence. This doesn't happen by design- it usually takes place when they are visiting a friend's house or attending a party where the food and drink are in great abundance and everyone can consume as much as they like. Like most toddlers, they are quick to point out when their stomach hurts and Children's Pepto Bubblegum Flavor is one of a few products on which I rely to treat the problem and return their delicate stomachs to normal. Children's Pepto Bubblegum Flavor has a pleasing taste to children and this is one of the product's best features. There are actually two flavors available (bubblegum and watermelon), but my girls like the bubblegum flavor best. They love the taste, and the easy to chew texture makes these tablets quick to consume.As for the effectiveness, Children's Pepto Bubblegum Flavor seems to accomplish the task for which it was intended, usually in a single dose. The manufacturer recommends no more than three tablets (for smaller children) or six tablets (for larger children) in a twenty- four hour period, but I haven't come even close to needing this much medicine. A single tablet is usually all my girls' need to tame the stomach acid and eliminate the discomfort. Calcium carbonate is primarily responsible for providing the relief, and this is the same ingredient found in many other antacid tablets. However, some of the other ingredients in Children's Pepto Bubblegum Flavor are less than desirable. There is artificial flavor and color, not to mention added sugar and other questionable ingredients. I would prefer not to see ingredients like this on my child's medicine, but as long as these tablets are used sparingly, there shouldn't be a problem.   **Bottom Line Viewpoint:** Children's Pepto Bubblegum Flavor provides effective treatment for an upset stomach, going to work quickly to eliminate the pain and return life to normal. Other than the flavor, these tablets are very similar to Tums, Rolaids, and other calcium carbonate- based tablets and they are rather expensive considering there are only twenty- four tablets per bottle. I don't like some of the ingredients, but this is still a good, effective product from Proctor and Gamble that works as promised with no side effects.

We were up last night with our two year old at three in the morning. He woke up crying, feverish, and with an obvious upset stomach. The poor thing's burps smelled like rotten eggs, was writhing in pain obviously trying to get rid of some gas hurting his belly, and he threw up twice. I sent hubby to the pharmacy for some Children's Pepto and  Tylenol suppositories (because he couldn't hold down the liquid). After I gave him one of the Pepto tabs (which he happily ate and tried to con more of out of me) he didn't vomit again. About 30 minutes after he finished the Pepto his stomach stopped hurting him: no more wriggling around to free his belly, no more crying, and he was his happy, babbly self again. We were able to get him to go right to sleep. When he woke up in the morning I asked him how his belly felt. Our speech delayed child looked right at me and said "all be-er". Given his speech problems I wasn't expecting an answer... but he obviously was relieved enough that he had to vocalize it. I thank Children's Pepto Bismol for my son's comfort, ability to sleep, and motivation to speak. I will be sure to keep some around the house so, if there ever is a next time (which I pray there isn't), he won't have to wait for Daddy to get back to start feeling better.
