My Peapod driver, Hakeem, just helped me get into my home - I locked myself out. He tried everything - the windows, door & when those attempts proved futile, he went around to the fence at my backyard, and tore the wooden slats away, one by one, until he could crawl through the tight space & go through my backyard door to unlock the front door!! He did this with a smile on his face, while comforting me so I would not become frantic. What a great driver and a great man! He was my hero, today, and I will never forget him!

Great Customer Service - Rude Driver!
Just had my normal bi-weekly delivery. I have been using this service for over a year now and I have loved it. Today, the delivery man refused to bring my groceries up the stairs to my kitchen. I have never had a driver refuse that before. I am a single mom, working full time and currently going through cancer treatment. One of the main reasons I use the service is because it's difficult for me to carry cases of water and 25 lb bags of dog food up the stairs. Today's driver was incredibly rude and and not at all friendly. What's the point of paying for delivery and then adding a tip when the driver takes the groceries no further than my front door? I could do this myself! Unless I can be guaranteed that I will never get this driver again, I will have to rethink continuing my service.
I agree with others. Meat is very close to expiration date, produce is not fresh, and alot of missing items. Very disappointed in a great idea that is poorly managed.
Peapod is a horrible service. Although it is convenient picking up your groceries and not having the shop, the way they packed the groceries cost more of your own time then just going grocery shopping on your own. I can't tell you how many times I've picked up my grocery and had chicken juice leaking all over the bags and all over my car and all over my house. One time my kids even got into it which even worse. Bottles and products are always broken and defective. These people clearly do not know what they're doing and need to seriously shape up. It's unfortunate since it is such a good service but poorly implemented. I highly recommend people to stay away from this, or you will probably waste more time than it save you.
I have used peapod from time to time. It is convenient, however, I find that they don't pick good looking produce. Dates on food such as meat and lettuces are typically about to expire. Though I would certainly pay the delivery fee for a good product, I am not a fan of the quality of food through peapod.

I was told by several people how convenient this service was. I normally wake up early & go food shopping before everyone is awake to avoid crowds. I decided last week to give it a shot since I had a busy weekend. I placed my order online, scheduled my pickup for the following day. The pickup seemed to go smooth, until I got home & noticed the guy who loaded my car had just thrown the bags into the back of my SUV. While putting away the groceries I noticed I was missing a 2 liter of soda (no big deal, but I didn't want to be charged for it). I called & spoke to a very nice woman who seemed very apologetic & gave me credits toward this order. Feeling like they redeemed themselves, I placed my grocery order online again this week for pickup. Again, my bags were thrown in the back of my vehicle. I get home & notice that several of my meats were not in my bag along with an 8 pack of gatorade. At this point I was furious, one of the meats was what I was cooking for dinner tonight. So after I unload my groceries I had to run out & get fast food. I then called the Peapod number to let them know that I was missing items again on my 2nd order. I spent 30 mins. on hold, & this "gentlemen" was not as caring as the woman before. He proceeded to tell me those items were not in stock, that is why they were not with my order. My question was why I wasn't notified, why did I only find out when I got home & put my groceries away. I provide peapod with my phone number/e-mail, why was I not notified by either of those means? He claimed they were not set up for that kind of thing & that the person who loaded my car should have informed me. When I told him I was not informed, he told me that he would contact the establishment & let them know of the issue. I will never use Peapod. How is it convenient to spend time online to place the order, wait to pick up the order, get home realize your order is not complete & then head back to the store to get what you need?
I used to use peapod when my son was a baby because it was easier than going to the store and I never had a problem. That was 2008-2009. I just decided to give them a try because I did not get to the store this weekend. The scheduled delivery time was 6:00-8:00pm. They texted that the delivery would be 2.5 ours delayed. I didn't like that because 1) too late to put groceries away 2) don't want delivery to wake up kids and husband all of whom are asleep by 9:00. Called because I wanted to cancel, spent over half an hour on hold but couldn't cancel. The customer service rep said they probably wouldn't be delivering after 10:00 so it's ok. Not if they wake up the kids!!
Peapod is going downhill
i have been using Peapod off and on since mid 2009. for the first 3-4 yrs i found theior services to be fine even tho prices were higher on a lot of groceries than at my local store. during the past 2 yrs they have been cutting out items thatt i used to buy which for one person could make up more than one meal. now i see that many more items have been cut, seems that delivery hours are diminished also, no more even $2 coupons like i used to get, the last one was specific to a particular product and could not be used for one's order. on occasion i had a late delvy but they always called so that was not an issue for me personally, and yes, sometimes they would not have an item in stck. i don't understand why they did not call suggesting a substitute or ask if cust. wanted to delete the item. they would just not send it, and yes sometimes it may be an essential item that one winds up having to go out to get.. or they sub. one item that cust does not like w/o permission. am wondering now with cuts in choices, delvy times, and very high prices always rising, if Peapod is now only going to be for the wealthy and not for the people who really need home delvy. i don't use them regularly but if ordering heavy items or in bad weather it is a wonderful service to be able to have. i am very concerned they are pricing out the average customer. like me i am sure many people wind up having to delete stuff as the final amt is too high. not a way to go, Peapod..
Pea pod sucks!
I became recently disabled and unable to drive or go to the store and thought that this service would help me become more independent. I used this service 10 times over last 8 months and admittedly the first few deliveries were ok- a minor one or two items "unavailable" when they were delivered but available on the website when you actually ordered it. Then the delays would come and the apologies for giving me half my order and then someone else's. Then the complete miss of orders. They would come three hours late and apologize when they would not bring things like milk and bread but everything else. I complained to corporate repeatedly. Told them that at least offer a substitute and provide something but don't show up with the basics and say sorry. They apologized..... Then tonight (May 8, 2015) they called me at 5:49 for my delivery that was scheduled for 4-6 and said they can't come then, MAYBE 7 or 8. I told them I will not be home so they said, ok, then tomorrow. Thanks. Like they are doing me a favor by taking my money and screwing me. The last time. If you are reading this never use them. At least not the one which services bergen county NJ
Good idea, but follow through needs work.
Let me start by saying PeaPod is a great idea and it's great in theory. The sheer number of people that could benefit from their services is astounding. However, the website and service itself does need a little more tweaking and work before it runs as smoothly as I believe it should.
When I placed my order the website froze or had issues with putting what I wanted into my order. I had issues setting a pick up time as well. It turned into a little bit of a fiasco , which kind of Turned me off of the service.
All in all, its not a horrible website or service, but it might be time to take it back to the drawing board and tweak it a little bit before they get where they want to be and where I ad a consumer would want to use PeaPod again.
Ease of Use
I found the website a little cluttered and at times hard to understand.
Some things they said were in stock, it didn't show weren't available till I tried to add them to my order, which was annoying.
Pricing was so so. The flaw was not in the product pricing.
I did have trouble getting a hold of a customer service agent, maybe they just don't have enough man power.
Shipping and Returns
Some items were missing from my order.
