Makes rice super easy!

This rice cooker is just amazing! TheOster 10-Cup Rice Cooker and Steamer 4715 is so easy to use and chips your rice perfectly. Just place your rinsed rice and water in the basin close the lid and turn it on. It child your rice to the perfect texture while you work on the rest of the meal. It turns off automatically when the rice is just right and keeps it warm until you are ready to eat it. Serve with home made stir fry or lemon chicken. You can also use this rice cooker to stream vegetables and have a super healthy dinner! Ease of Cleaning The basin and Steamer tray are both removable for easy cleaning, but I do not think they are dishwasher safe. Ease of Use This rice cooker is super easy to use and shuts off automatically when your rice is done. Durability No complaints on this, I have used it many times and it still works great! Design Not exactly the prettiest appliance in my kitchen but not bad too look at either.

Great Rice Every Time

We have had other rice cookers and this is my favorite so far. It is very large and can cook enough for dinner parties or small amounts for two. Simple straight forward usage makes it a no brainer to use. Just pour in water and rice and push a button and wait for it to tell you its all done. Couldn't be easier than that! I love the non stick coating on the basket that the rice cooks in. You couldn't get anything to stick to it if you tried. It makes cleaning a breeze. We make a lot of rice for at home sushi and it comes out perfectly each time. Never have to babysit it or worry. Performance Works perfectly every time. Ease of Cleaning Super easy to clean. The inner basket where you cook the rice has a nice non stick coating. Leftover rice just slides right out with out any effort. Ease of Use Simple usage. Just push down on the lever and let it sit. Durability It seems pretty tough. We have never dropped it or broken it. All components can go in the dishwasher (at least I put them in there). Design Very simple design will match any kitchen interior.

Time saver when you need a lot of rice

We are from Hawaii and eat a lot of rice. We have two rice cookers and this Oster 10 cup rice cooker is our larger one. When we have family gatherings, our little 3 cup rice cooker just doesn't cut it and so we take this one out. It's also our go to rice cooker when we make cone sushi since it's a huge time saver. It's a simple to use rice cooker which is a plus to me. Rice cookers do not need to be very fancy and the ones that are seem quite silly. Cleaning is pretty easy. But sometimes the lid part which is not detachable gets forgotten. It does take up a lot of room and I do not care to leave it out on the counter since it doesn't get used more then once a month. I have never used it to steam vegetables and likely never will. I've used it for cooking both white and brown rice. Cooking brown rice in it is a little more tricky. I've notice that it needs more water when cooking the brown rice and also adding a little bit of spray oil to the rice seems to help keep it from burning on the bottom.

Easiest Rice Cooker

I bought this rice cooker after returning a different brand that didn't work. The price for this cooker was really cheap, so I wasn't sure if it would work well. I have been pleasantly surprised. We have had the Oyster Rice Cooker for about eight months and it works like a charm. It is super easy to use. We cook rice in it about once a week, so it sees some pretty heavy use. There is only one setting, but the rice comes out great every time. We have used it with water and with vegetable broth. We have also used a variety of rices. It makes no difference. The rice is always cooked to perfection. The only real issue is cleaning. The entire bowl comes out, which is nice. But, when we use vegetable broth, sometimes it steams over the side and onto the hot plate underneath. We use a wet sponge to clean the plate and it hasn't affected it yet, but we usually end up having to scrub harder and use less water so as not to ruin the electric plate. also, starch builds up behind the latch, which is bothersome. Still, it's fairly easy to clean and there aren't a lot of parts besides the removable cooking bowl.

The Rice comes out nice with Oster rice cooker and steamer

My husband is from Thailand so we eat a lot of rice..and who wants to sit around hovering over a hot stove waiting for it to cook ? Not this white girl! So we got this rice cooker! OK we got it mostly because my husband polietly stated that I apparently stink at making rice, and I don't make it like his mother...well I am German we don't cook much rice!! This cooker is great! All you do after you wash your rice off (you know you were supposed to do that right?) so you just simply measure out the amount of rice you will need and the water that is indicated on the interior rim of the cooker and simply pour both in and viola! You are done until the cooker beeps you ! Very convenient! This also helps out while you are busy cooking the other part of your meal. The rice cooker also opens up another burner on your stove for you to use. It easily stores away and doesn't take up much room at all in the cupboard area.

Oster Rice Cooker Deluxe is the best rice cooker and steamer.

The **Oster Rice Cooker Deluxe** is a necessity if you enjoy rice.  It's very easy and fast to use.  It will cook your rice while you cook the rest of your meal.  If you like steamed vegetables, this works perfectly.  This rice cooker has a timer, so everything comes out just perfect.  I've tried other rice cookers, but this one seems to cook the rice just the way I like it.  The rice is moist and not too dry.  It also cooks lots of rice for a large group of people, or you can cook extra and freeze the rice for later meals.  If you use the rice cooker as a steamer, you can use the leftover rice and steam your veggies.  It's quick, and you have the time to cook your main dish without the hassle of cooking your veggies on the stove.  Your veggies come out better tasting than cooking on the stove or microwave.  Try the **Oster Rice Cooker Deluxe**.  You won't be disappointed.

This rice cooker is perfect for sushi making! Go Oster!

My sister recently got a sushi maker set and made rice all the time to make sushi. She had it down to a science, the timing, sequence and addition of the rice vinegar. She made some quality rice all the time. It is all thanks to this lovely rice cooker. Way better than the old fashioned way on the stove top (which is what I was used to). I had no idea how cool rice cookers were until I saw, used and then tasted the final product; delicious rice and delicious sushi. If you eat rice on the regular, I suggest this easy to use rice cooker that make some dependable, sensational rice. I am never using stove top again, I am going to use a rice cooker, this one to be exact. Soon after borrowing my sister's too much I will buy my own! I hope you find the same satisfaction I did!

The Oster 10 cup rice cooker makes fast rice.

3

I like this rice maker. It was actually my first and I've used it many times. i love how it is so easy to use and it makes rice super fast as opposed to the stove top method. You can even cook brown rice in it. The turn off switch after the rice is finished cooking is super handy as i am usually doing other things in the kitchen when it turns off. The problem with this appliance is that it usually burns the rice if left any longer than two minutes after cooking. I am not even able to allow the rice to sit in the container after the switch turns off because it will burn. So i have been pulling the rice container out when it is finished cooking and covering it with plastic wrap or foil. i really love this appliance i just wish it was better quality.

Oster Rice Cooker has served me well

3

I have owned the Oster 10-cup Rice Cooker 4715, for a few years now and it has served me well. However I do have some complaints. First the Pros: Cooks large amount of rice well, removable bowl is easy to clean (either by hand or dishwasher), design is decent. Now the Cons: Cannot cook small amounts of rice well. Whenever I want to cook 2 cups or less, parts of the rice end up being hard and are really hard to chew. Also, it will stick to the container. When this happens, it does take a little more effort to wash, but nothing major. Also, if you do not remove the rice immediately once it is done cooking, it drys out the rice. I have also noticed that the coating is starting to come off. However after so many years of abuse, I think this is typical. Overall, when it comes time to replace, I will buy the same brand for a rice cooker that is needed to cook larger amounts of rice.****

easy and convenient

This is the first rice cooker/steamer I have owned, and I like it a lot. It is so easy to use and convenient. My family eats rice about once a week, so we use this rice cooker a lot. I have found that I do need to keep an eye on the rice myself and not depend on the auto shut off feature, because the bottom of the rice tends to burn if not stirred and watched. I recently tried using the steamer feature, and I love it! I do think it's important to know just how much food you're putting in though so you can put in the appropriate amount of water and not run dry. It's not the easiest to gauge when you're using fresh produce, but it can be done. Even with me muffing my calculations a bit my veggies still turned out nice.
