Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon

I purchased Oscar Mayer turkey bacon because I wanted a healthier version of bacon. I cooked the bacon and enjoyed it in an egg omelet. Two hours later I checked my blood sugar and it was out of sight. I checked the nutrition list on the turkey bacon (when I purchased it) and there was no mention of sugar. I then checked the ingredients list and sugar was the 2nd ingredient. Why is the sugar not mentioned on the nutrition label? Now I have to discard the rest of the turkey bacon as I can't eat it. I have always relied on nutrition labels but I guess that's not enough. Does the sugar not have to be mentioned on the nutrition label? I also tried calling Oscar Mayer and I was on hold for 18 minutes - then was disconnected. I'm sad to say that I was hoping I had found a great alternative to bacon - but I was mistaken.

Turkey Bacon

Growing up, I always ate pork bacon and loved it, but when I tried Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon I was surprised. The taste was way better! And I found out that it's less fattening and doesn't produce as much grease (well when I make it). I never would've guessed that it would be this good. Everyone should at least give it a try!

Tastes good but not quite real bacon

It tastes good and is definately very edible and healthier than normal bacon, so if your into health. But if your a 20s or 30s something or just a bacon fanatic -- I would recommend just going with the traditional bacon because the taste is just not quite the same.

tastes tons better than pork bacon! Less grease/fat/parasites

My husband and I switched to turkey bacon because he needed to severely reduce his sodium intake and bacon was just a killer. He likes turkey sausage so I thought I'd try to buy him some turkey bacon. I came across one brand but it was paper thin. I came across Oscar Meyer on a different shopping trip and tried it. We were so surprised. It's thick like pork bacon, tastes better than pork bacon, there is miniscule grease in the pan (we didn't even need to use oil or butter in the pan to avoid sticking), there was so little sodium (50 per slice of turkey compared to 125 per pork slice). It also took so little time to cook it. Keep an eye on the pan because it can easily burn if you aren't watching it. I believe it took me 7 minutes to cook 6 slices. Pork bacon takes at least 20 minutes. At least. Another benefit to eating turkey bacon over pork bacon: you need to cook pork bacon EXTREMELY well in order to kill the parasites still living in the pork. You almost need to burn it. With turkey bacon, there are no parasites so you don't need to burn it. You just cook it to your liking: lightly crisp, crisp or extra crisp. Sorry, I didn't want to gross anyone out but it needed to be said. This bacon is by far the best turkey bacon I've ever come across. It looks, smells, feels, and tastes like regular pork bacon but tons healthier. Rating: A+++++.

OUTSTANDING BACON

I am in Love with this bacon, Some people make assumptions about things before they even try it. Last year I eliminated all pork products from my diet. I'm the type of person who has to have bacon with my pancakes or with my eggs. Well I tried this bacon and I LOVE IT. It is so darn good. It's thin so it crisps up nicely. I have to have crispy bacon and this bacon will get crispy especially if you cook it in the microwave for about 2 and half to 3 minutes tops. If you are hesitant about this bacon don't be, once you try it you will not miss pork bacon at all. You can fry it up in a dry pan (without oil) and it was fry up and crisp up nicely because there is a little oil that will come from this bacon. I would say that you will probably get about a 1/4 of a teaspoon of oil that this bacon will give off. I have fried this up and I have made bacon bits for my salads. I have made BLTs with this bacon and no one in my family has complained about it not tasting like bacon because, It actually taste like bacon. You will just have to try it for yourself. I bet you will love it as well.

By far the best turkey bacon

As I get older I am forced to eat healthier for heath reasons. Several years ago I tried Oscar Mayor turkey bacon and instantly fell in love with it. It crisps up really nice, has the best flavor out of all the turkey bacons out there, and resembles real bacon once it's cooked. I assumed that all turkey bacons would be as good as Oscar Mayor but quickly discovered that to be untrue. Every other turkey bacon I have tried tastes like bacon flavored cardboard. The winner, hands down is Oscar Mayor turkey bacon. If you've been hesitant to try turkey bacon because you don't want to sacrifice flavor, this is the turkey bacon to try. Nothing really compares to the real full of fat bacon, but Oscar Mayor turkey bacon is as close as you can get and the flavor is supurb!! The only draw back I can think of is that it is a bit expensive.

Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon is the best I've tried

I have tried other turkey bacon brands and have not found them to be as flavorful or cook as well as Oscar Mayer's Turkey Bacon.  I have 4-5 slices each morning to help get a good serving of protein without all the fat of regular bacon.  After eating this bacon for over a year now it is hard for me to tolerate regular bacon as it seems so greasy incomparsion to turkey bacon.  Oscar Mayer is a very trusted brand and they have done a wonderful job with this.  I buy this bacon in bulk as I do eat this everyday with a whole grain english muffin.  Give it a try you won't be dissappointed.

Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon is a crispy alternative to real bacon.

Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon is the best brand of turkey bacon I've tried. That's actually saying a lot because I love real bacon. I don't love the fat, though, so turkey bacon is a good lower-fat alternative. What I like about this brand is that it actually gets crispy in the pan. Unlike some other brands I've tried that get a chewy, jerky-like consistency, the Oscar Mayer gets crispy like real bacon. The flavor is pretty good, too. It doesn't taste like pork bacon, of course, but it isn't bad for a substitute. Sometimes I find myself thinking about having this for breakfast and realize that I haven't thought about "real" bacon for some time. Of course it does have preservatives in it, like most bacon. I've tried preservative-free pork bacon and liked it, but then you're getting all the fat, so it's a trade-off. If you're conscious of your weight at all, or just don't want to put on needless pounds, try this product in place of real bacon or sausages for breakfast.

Kraft recently gave me the opportunity to try Oscar Mayers Turkey bacon. I love bacon and thought that this item would be gross, but I was proven wrong. The turkey bacon is actually really delicious. I love the texture, and the taste. I recommend this to anyone who loves bacon but wants less fat or healthier choices.
