When I saw the first television commercial for Oscar Mayer's new Carving Board meats featuring oven roasted turkey, I knew I had to try it. I love turkey but only the kind that's sliced right off the bird on holidays. I figured Oscar Mayer has finally come up with the right idea. So at whatever price I was willing to try it. I use local grocery delivery and when my groceries arrived the first thing I wanted to try was, of course, this new Carving Board turkey from Oscar Mayer. The plastic container it comes in is convenient I thought. When I popped a piece of turkey in my mouth I was dumbfounded. It tasted horrible! It didn't even taste like turkey! Also, the color of the turkey chunks were kind of pink. That didn't look attractive I thought. I continued eating small pieces inside the container hoping to find the one that would turn me into a fan for for life but each new piece I tried was just as bad the one before. Finally I had to stop. The expiration date was in the far off future so that couldn't be it. I put the rest of my groceries away, trying to figure out what the heck I had just ate. I put the rest away in the refrigerator and never went back to it. I got my money refunded from Oscar Mayer, but I really wanted this to become a favorite. Sure, it's a bit expensive. But I love turkey and rarely do I get to have it. Deli sliced, thinly sliced kinds of turkey never cut it for me, although they taste all right. This Carving Board turkey from Oscar Mayer was just plain awful. They offered me to try it again but I am just not interested.
