The FE-310 and or the FE-0340 are great small cameras. They take great pictures have movie function and the window is showing exactly what the picture will show. Has lot of choices but is very easy to start using and can be used by people of all ages.

I am a professional photographer with a great loyalty to Olympus Cameras but I can't say I love this product. I use my professional camera for almost everything I do but I wanted a small camera that took video to use for on the go with my child. We bought this camera right before she was born and I wish beyond all wish that I had picked a different one. It turns out OK, looking pictures but my biggest complaint with this camera is that it doesn't always take a photo when you push the button. I have found myself pushing the button multiple times to get the results I want. It does really well outside in light but I find that it really REALLY struggles with any sort of low light situation. As fast as video goes, I don't really have any complaints. I just use it for basic video of my little girl and it works pretty darn good. I usually edit my videos and the format or the quality of the video has never given me problems. I love Olympus but I just don't love this one.

HAD THIS FOR A WHILE AND IT IS MY FAVORITE CAMERA.  IT WAS A GREAT PRICE AND FOR A LITTLE CAMERA TAKES PICTURES AS WELL AS MY NIKON  D 40.  IT HAS A WIDE AND TELESCOPIC .LENS.  AT 8.0 MP IT TAKES CLEAR AND CRISP PICTURES.   SMALL AND EASY TO CARRY . SIMPLE TO DOWNLOAD PICTURES AND MOVIES.  ONLY COMPLAINT IS SMALL BATTERY LIFE AND EATS DOUBLE AA LIKE  NO TOMORROW

I got this little camera as a gift and really like it as an everyday use camera.  I am a stay at home mother of two children.  I like to take pictures of my family everywhere I go.  So, I usually carry this camera in my purse and don't usually have it in a case.  I have dropped the camera several times onto the ground.  So, what I am saying is this camera is pretty durable.  I did have a problem with the camera early on when I first started using it.  What happened was when I turned it on the shutter would stay open but the view screen was black.  I would press the power button and it woul not shut off.  I sent it back to the manufacturer and they were very nic about it and replaced the lens.  So, then it happened again so I sent it back again.  They were very nice again and replaced the lens again.  This has happened a few more times and I figured out that it only happened if I used cheap batteries.  It is like they cheap batteries did not have enouigh power.  If I put in good fresh batteries the problem would resolve itself.  It goes through batteries very quickly also, but at least they are just AA batteries so they are not hard to find in the stores.  I love scrapbooking and find this camera takes clear quality everyday pics, but is by no means for a professional or expert who knows much about cameras and techy stuff and photos.
