I replaced my old, rusted metal grater with the OXO Seal & Store Rotary Grater and am very happy that I made this decision. I absolutely love how safe this product is and how I have not cut my hands once since using it. I used to cut my hands all the time when I used my old metal grater. I did not think that the OXO Seal & Store Rotary Grater would work as well as a metal grater which is why I hesitated switching products for as long as I did. The end result is a grater that works equally as well (if not better than) the metal grater and hands that do not get cut when I grate fresh parmesan cheese for pasta dishes. The block of cheese fits securely into the OXO Seal & Store Rotary Grater and the lever firmly holds it in place. The grating handle turns smoothly and the cheese is grated nicely and evenly. I am impressed with how easy the OXO Seal & Store Rotary Grater is to clean and am very pleased that it is dishwasher safe. I am very happy with this purchase and anticipate it will last for a number of years.

Okay, I'm all about authenticity and microplaning a fine Parmegiano Reggiano at the table when having a dinner party.  But for casual or everyday dinners, the OXO Seal & Store Rotary Grater is awesome.  It's easy to use, easy to crank.  Best of all, if you grate a little more than you actually need for a recipe, you can save the leftovers in the convenient receptacle.  I used to dread grating hard cheeses in large quantity, as inevitably I get close to scraping a knuckle or a fingernail as I neared the end of the wedge.  Now, there's no waste as there aren't the end chunks that you're afraid to grate.  Note that this grater does not work well on softer cheeses like swiss or pepper jack, unless you freeze them slightly to firm them up.  But if you want a grater that works well on gruyere, parmesan, romano, or even a firm smoked mozzarella or gouda, this is a good tool to have in your kitchen drawer.

My family loves cheese.  I often cook meals and have them ready to go but end up standing over everyone's pasta dish with a "cow bell" style grater and only have of the cheese ends up on people's meals and everyone has to sit around and wait for the cheese to be ready.   I love the OXO cheese grater for 2 reasons.  The first is that it completely elimates the problem described about.  The grater is meant to be used for grateing and entire cube of cheese and storing it for later use.  Becasue it is built to work for awhile I have found the quality of the grater to be better than others.  It is very durable and has rubber grips that make it easy to use even if you are holding a bowl or something else underneath it.  The grater also controls the flow of the cheese, it is even and does not spill out everywhere as a traditional grater does.  The second reason is that it is dishwasher safe and I have found that it comes out without bits of cheese stuck inside.

I use a lot of cheese in my cooking and this item is a must have item. Not only does it save your fingers and hands from scraps, but this item is much more convenient, easier to use, and quicker than the old style cheese grader. I usually buy my cheese in blocks and grade it all at one time. Blocks are usually cheaper than already graded cheese and you have the convenience of freezing your cheese in individual portions specifically catering to your need.

I have used my cheese grater on many occasions. When using a traditional cheese grater, there always seemed to be left over balls or hunks of cheese that you either left, threw away, or took a knife to. The Rotary cheese grater eliminates that. It is more sanitary as well.  Your hand never has to melt into the block cheese. Highly recommended.

Don't you just hate it when you have to grate cheese for a pizza or some other type of cheesy meal? I know I do. However, I found the answer for both of us...The Oxo Seal and Store Rotary Cheese Grater. I was flabergasted at how easy this gadget is and how quickly it gets the job done.
