As a mom to two young children, I always seem to be short on time. It is important to me that I feed my children healthy meals and snacks. One of my toddler's favorite snacks is apples. He loves all varieties of apples but he is not old enough to eat an uncut apple. I researched different apple slicers and settled on the OXO Good Grips Apple Divider because I have had such good luck with OXO products. This apple slicer is amazing! I love how there is a secure place to grip on the sides of the slicer. It is easy to line up the apple properly and to get nice, clean apple slices each time. I love how fast it works and how I can literally go from a whole apple to a sliced apple in under 30 seconds. Most toddler do not have the patience to wait for an apple to be sliced by hand so this is a must have for many parents! I highly recommend the OXO Good Grips Apple Divider. It is a great little kitchen gadget and timesaver.

We received our OXO Apple Divider four years ago as a wedding gift, and it still is working great. This divider is sturdily constructed and hasn't warped, bent, or rusted at all during this time. Not only is it well-designed, it also works very well. In addition, it's coated handles allow you to comfortably and safely exert pressure painlessly without any slips. Quick pointer: Always make sure to put the most even end (top or bottom) down to ensure the best cut without any core or seeds. Ease of Cleaning We rinse it off and then run it through the dishwasher right away, and it washes off nice and clean every time. It seems like it would be a real pain to wash this apple divider by hand. Durability We've used ours regularly for four years and have had no bends, breaks, or rusting with our divider. It seems we can easy expect to get at least another fours out of it.. Design The design is sturdy and also comfortable to use.

For the longest time I hated eating apples because I hated cutting the sides of my mouth on the edge of the sharp apple peel, yet if I go and peel the apple before I eat it, not only does it waste extra time and more effort, but the apple also starts to brown before i get anywhere near it. SO ANNOYING. So then I decided, why not cut it up into slices? Which is all great except hand cutting the apples requires a surprising number of steps, from getting the cutting board, the knife, cutting the apple (unevenly I might add), and then rinsing everything. All this before I get to eat my apple. D: Until I decided to invest in this apple cutter (which for the longest time I didn't even realize exists lol). AWESOME INVESTMENT!! Now cutting an apple is just one step and I was shocked at how easy it all was. Place apple on cutting board, line up the corer, press down! voila, perfectly sliced apples. *__* I actually found myself craving apples just because I wanted to use the corer. :x No more accidentally cutting too deep into the side of the apples that i end up having the apple seeds in my slices either! In any case, for anyone who likes apples, or would like to start eating apples more often for health benefits, I highly recommend this thing. It made what felt like a chore to me, into something fun (yes, maybe I am weird lol).

We received this as a wedding gift and use this all the time. My husband and I both work, so we take cut up apples in our lunches and love the ease of cutting and coring apples in just a few seconds. This is a sturdy tool and will last a long time. I have used other apple cutters and they are very difficult to use because the blades are not sharp enough to cut through the apple. The only thing that is hard with this is I am short and to get an easy cut you have to have some height and leverage. The blades on this are very sharp and the handles are comfortable to hold. I would recommend this for any household. It is a necessity in ours. Ease of Cleaning There are alot of grooves on this, so if it sits for a while food dries on it and it is harder to clean. If you rinse it right after use, the ease of cleaning is a 5.

I am not sure why, but for some reason, I keep buying apple corers and then have trouble with them. Then I forget, see another apple corer/divider, buy it and start the cycle all over again. OXO Good Grips Apple Divider looked like such a great deal! Cushioned handles to make pushing the corer/divider down over the apple would make it more comfortable to use! In practice, however, it was just another frustrating apple coring experience to add to my collection of them. Ease of Cleaning Although this does clean up fairly well, I am frustrated with the rust factor. Even though I hand washed this corer and dried it right afterward, this still rusted fairly quickly. It was not horrible, but I don't feel it should rust at all! Since that seems to be part of the cleaning process, I view that as a cleaning flaw. Durability Although this was useable for about a year, it really didn't last that long. Besides the rust spot factor, the handles didn't seem overly sturdy either. I had some problems with them separating a bit from the metal. It did not make it so that I could not use it, but it made this feel cheap. Design Although the idea of this corer/separator is a good one, I found that in execution it was a bit frustrating. It was sharp enough, but at times, I had to work the slices through so carefully that it was almost not worth the effort to take out the corer/divider. For that amount of time and effort, I could just cut it up with a knife! The handles coming apart a bit and the rust factor also made me frustrated. Had this been designed just a bit better, perhaps this would have been more fun to use, I am not sure.

Here I go again singing the praises of the OXO line. YOu would think that I worked for them or something but seriously, their products grace every drawer of my kitchen and they are excellent and well worth my praise. This time around, I am going to bestow my 5-star rating upon the apple slicer. I am constantly eating apples and have cut them by hand for years but tired of that as my hands became less strong. I then went to a cheap apple cutter and broke it because of cheap construction but wanted another one so I bought the OXO one as a replacement (4 years ago). I only wish I had bought this one from the beginning because it never falters when I have a large, firm apple and doesn't feel feeble or weak like other products. It washes up easily in the top rack of my dishwasher and has never rusted. I love this peeler and want to spread the word that OXO has the best kitchen gadgets. Give this a peel on your best apples and enjoy. Sandy

I've been using a non-OXO apple corer/slicer since I was a kid. I have rheumatoid arthritis and cutting is difficult for me. When we started going apple picking, I knew I needed a more high end one. This one works so much better than any of the cheap ones I've ever bought. Definitely worth the money....!!

I like how the XOXO apple slicer makes nice and even sections of apples.  I find it great when I am using apples in a dish I am presenting to company.  It is fairly easy to use, as long as you line the slicer up exactly in the center of the apple.  If you line the tool up slightly uneven, it does not remove all of the core from the pieces that are sliced.

When i first saw this item i was really excited because it saved me time from cutting the apples with a knife! Once i got it home and the kids had seen me use it once or twice they wanted to try it too and it worked out great because it was simple to use and they got to pitch in and help fix their favorite snack! I am really glad i bought this and i would recommend it to anyone especially parents with young kids who love to help in the kitchen!!!
