Great idea, okay execution.

I thought that OPI Nic's Stick was going to be a new stapple for me, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The color and idea of the product were wonderful. I even thought the application was good. The product went on quickly and easily; it took almost half the time it usually takes me to do my toes! The control was great and the product went on beatifully. It is also nice not to have to worry about spills. However, I found a few problems with the product. Although the pedicure looked awesome, it took three coats for the polish to be thick enough. And, even after three coats, the polish started to fade within a week. It was really strange because it didn't chip, the edges just simply started rub off! I was really shocked when it happened and applied some more. But then it happened again. I think this is a great idea that just needs to be tweaked a little. It is work it is you like to change polish quickly, but if you're looking for a long-lasting color, this product does not provide.

Tried many like none.

I have tried a few colors of the Nic's Sticks and every color led to the same result "not using this again". Some are too light to even show up but, it is the design that is flawed. I am always on the go so I thought these would be an ideal product for me because I can throw them in my purse and get on my way. The container itself is great because there is no mess just pump a few times and paint but, the brush dries out and hardens after each use as it is not kept wet all the time. The paint gets sticky and separates very quickly. The brush is not for detail just full on paint as with most bottles of nail polish. If you accidentally pump it one time to many you can't just wipe some off on the edge of the bottle you have to use a paper napkin or something and then try again. The paint also does not last very long once it is applied maybe a day if your lucky. I went back to my other brands as these are too price not to do the job.

I was so excited for these, but they were a huge let down.

The concept of these is absolutely great- a convenient, portable nail polish. But, when I actually tried it out, the polish seemed very watery to me. It chipped very quickly and it was a bit messy to apply. I have 3 of these and all three of the brushes broke very quickly.

OPI's Nic's Sticks - great for on the go

4

I recently tried OPI's Nic's Stick and really like this product.  It is a plastic pen applicator with a brush that is a good size but takes a little practice to be precise.  It is easy to use and fast drying and comes in a variety of colors.  I am wearing "stick with me" and think it is perfect for the summer. I can't wait to try other colors!  My only advice is not to overload the applicator.  You pump it from the top to dispense the color and it is easy to over pump because it seems not to load, but it does, two or three pumps should get it started, once started you can easily get your whole hand done before needing to pump it again for the other hand.  Two coats look good and its so shiny a top coat is not really needed unless you want to preserve the color some more.  Great alternative to nail polishes and great for throwing in your handbag for touch ups.

Extremely disappointed in Nic's Sticks.

1

I normally love OPI nail polishes so I was thrilled with the concept of the Nic Sticks.  However, I can honestly say I'm very disappointed in them.  I purchased 12 of them in a gift pack in a range of colours from pale pinks to intense reds.  Whilst the pale colours aren't too bad, the deeper colours are a nightmare to apply **and** wear - no matter how lightly I apply them (and I use 2 coats as a rule), they tend to streak on the 2nd coat and seem to remove half of the 1st coat on each application.  Even the clear top coat seemed to 'remove' half the polish (and I have been painting my nails for years in exactly the same fashion & have never had this problem before). Another major problem is that they chip very easily (easier & quicker than any other nail polish I've ever used, including OPIs 'regular' nail polishes), and my biggest gripe of all - no matter how long I wait for the nail polish to dry, it still ends up smearing.  As an example, I applied a deep red colour in 2 light coats (*Red Eye to NY*) at 12:30 pm yesterday and I woke up this morning to find my nail polish had smeared (ie. I had the imprint of my bed sheets!!) on every single nail.  This has happened with *every* single colour I've tried in the Nic Sticks, particularly in the darker shades, although it seems to be slightly less of a problem in the paler colours.  I've used many other red OPI nail polishes (the bottled versions) for years and have never come across this problem before using the Nic Sticks. I still have 7 of the Nic Sticks unopened which I'm thinking of reselling on eBay as I know for a fact I will never use them.  Very, very disappointed in these products and I can honestly say I will never use them again.

love and be loved

I have mixed feelings about this the OPI Nic Sticks! It's a great idea but needs improvement. I loved the idea of being able to carry around a nail polish stick with you everywhere you go. That way if it chips, you got a handy dandy stick to fix it. It dries quicker than normal nail polish with the samwe shine, which was a plus. It is from OPI so another plus there. The only thing I didn't like about it was the fact that the brush dried so fast. You have to clean it after every use or else it is hard for the nail polish to come out the next time around. I would recommend this product but you need to but some acetone as well to clean the brush with or else it ends up being a hard mess. They did not have a huge variety of colors when I bought it, because it was new, but the colors they did have were pretty and I wanted them all. lol. I am pretty sure they have came out with new colors since then. I would go get one and see if you have better luck with them. Enjoy!

Disappointing

3

Disappointing purchase. I bought two of these since they came in a box together, excited for my first O.P.I. purchase. Perhaps the O.P.I. hype skewed my views, but these are not worth it for the price.  First, unless you pump out a lot of nail polish, your nails are going to look streaky. The brush has hard, ununiform bristles that will streak. There is very little nail polish in the pen so you feel like you are wasting it when you want to pump out more paint.  And when you finally get your nails to look decent, the paint chips easily.  If there were any bright side, the colors are fun, and these are very portable. I am still extremely disappointed in how easily the paint chip from my nails. Painting nails with a pen is still fun though.

easy and fast opi nic's sticks

So it used to take me forever life to paint my nails. And by my nails i mean my hands and feet. Usually about 10-15 minutes because i would have to go back and correct the mistakes. However one day i saw my favorite store have this Nic's sticks and i thought oh those look pretty cool. It said they were easy to use and that it would save you time in coloring your nails just brush it once and one coat would be enough. Usually everything that is too good to be true usually is, but not with this. My nails had no color and i really just wanted to color them and get it over with i promise it took about 5 minutes to color my nails and toe nails and i couldn't believe it. The color was exactly how it looked it wasn't washed out it was shiny and it stayed on my nails for about 3 days without one chip. Although it was pricy it was totally worth it because beiing a mom on the go i'm always looking to look great but FAST. So thanks OPI!

Smart invention

I like to paint my fingernails, but always hated when only one day later the polish would chip and look less than perfect.  This product solves my problem.  The nail polish is in a pen type applicator that makes it really easy to touch-up chips or redo a nail if I touch something before it dries.  I have tried many brands and formulas of nail polish and find they all eventually chip so this product was an excellent solution.  I like that the Nic's sticks come in so many colors so it does not matter which color I choose I can still fix an imperfections.  The penlike grip is easy to operate and the entire stick of nail polish is so convienent it fits right in my purse so I can do nail polish touch-ups anywhere I might go.  The pen style applicatore also prevents spilling, so I do not have to worry about spilling a bottle of nail polish like I have in the past.  The price is also very reasonable.

I just bought two of these, not the colors, I bought one that helps dry nails (clear coat) and a top coat that helps you nails not break. I love it. Its such a convenience. Just throw in your purse and you can touch up anywhere. I happen to adore OPI nail polish and I am not a nail polish type of person so that says something right there, I love these sticks, Its just perfect. I need to get more!!!! If you are looking for a place to purchase them, I got mine at target!
