I lose connection a lot.

3

I have two Netgear routers. They are, of course, wireless. My daughter uses one, and I use the other. I'm a little disappointed in them. I often get a dropped single from the one I use. I don't know about my daughter since she recently moved. I'll see her today and will inquire. Before I had the Netgears I had a another brand which I couldn't get to connect at all. Although I like wireless connection, I've had a lot of problems with it. I also have a wireless printer. You talk about a pain in the butt. I lose connection with it almost daily. Almost all of my electronics are HP, and have been for ten years. Now it seems they are taking a crap on me. I have two laptops, and one of them is fried, and the other gave me a little trouble a few days ago. It's back online, but who knows for how long.

Netgear Wireless Router is consistant

4

This router has not given me any problems with connection. It does a great job of allowing me to surf the internet using my laptop computer at the same time my kids are watching movies thru their gaming system. The upright design allows me to fit it next to my monitor where it doesn't take up too much room on my desk. The status lights clearly indicate if more then one connection is being used. I also have the ability to disconnect or connect the wireless function with the touch of a button. It was simple to set up and is extremely easy to use. I looked at several routers before settling on the Netgear WNR2000 Wireless Router and can tell you that a lot of the other routers seemed too complicated for how I was going to be using it. All in all, for the price I paid, this is a great little router that hasn't given me any trouble. I would even recommend this router to those people who are "technically challenged". Service & Support haven't had to use service or support on this router.

does its job

Before buying the **Netgear WNR2000 Wireless Router **I did have the Netgear WGR614 Wireless Router. I had to upgrade to this one because I moved into a neighborhood where apparently several people owned the one I had and I could never connect to my own router. Odd but true. I wasn't able to password protect it and I believe that was the main problem. But now, with the WNR2000, it's great. It's password protected, it was easy to set up  and I never have trouble receiving a signal in my home. It does the job I need it to do and for a fairly good price. Are there better wireless routers out there? I'm sure but if you need a router to supply your home with a good quality signal without interuption, this could possibly be the router for you. Another good thing, mainly just about the Netgear brand, is that since they are popular and if you happen to go visit a different location where you need internet, you can easily hook up to another netgear. But be safe with it.

The Netgear WNR2000 Wireless Router is a great product. It was easy to hook up and its small enough to fit in small spaces. I get great connect all over the house. We also have to Wii running off the product. The price was great.

Not as good for the price

You are looking at a great product if you are concerned with the range of a wireless router but if you are not in for firmware troubles then you should not even go close to this router. I love the speed and everything but I have had so many problems with the firmware crashing on me even though I have kept the original firmware. Antenna design is the best ever as it gives you a large coverage and a very fast speed. Setup it very easy and its pretty much plug and play. The price almost makes you ignore the crashing problems and go for one, but as I mentioned before it might get a bit frustrating. I myself gave up on this router and started using my cheap router with external antennas that does a way better job than this more expensive internal antennas. There are lots of trade offs to think about before buying internal netgear routers.

Netgear WNR2000 Best of the Best

5

After six years we moved to a new location. We had to choose a new internet provider and as our wireless modem was five years old it was suggested we update. We chose the Netgear WNR2000 after researching on the net and seeking advice from our son-in-law the family techy guy. We made the right choice. The Netgear WNR2000 has worked perfectly, was a breeze to set-up and install, and we are very pleased. On initial set-up I had to call the Netgear customer service as I was unfamiliar with working with the new provider we had chosen. That was the most awesome customer service experience on any purchase I have ever experienced. This device, the Netgear WNR2000 is absolutely in every way, the best of the best.

Pretty Good

This is my first wireless experience and so far I am impressed with my Netgear WNR Router. I do seem to have a problem after the power goes out. I have to reset the basic wireless connedtions every single time. As I love having the wireless, I have no problem with doing this extra chore when needed.

OK router

I have had this router for over a year now and for the most part it does the job. Wireless connects all my computers and devices. I purchase this to replace a linksys WRT54G where I changed the firmware to the likes of tomato and DDWRT and between my netgear and linksys router I really havent seen much of a difference. My range hasn't really increased even with devices supporting the 802.11N and get intermittent internet drops on my cell phones. Sometime I have to unplug the router and the modem because the internet drop for no reason but once that's done it works fine. I have seen some increase in speed but not significant enought to have upgraded my router. Asthetically it looks nice but has a cheap plastic feel and some annoying blue lights (which you can turn off). Overall the router is ok but not worth upgrading if you had a previous set up like mine.

Netgear WNR2000 Wireless Router is Dependable

5

The Netgear WNR2000 Wireless Router is Dependable for a home network. This router has 4 port input capabilities to run wireless or wired. My home is about 15,000 square feet and I am able to sit on my back screen porch with my laptop and continue to get a good signal for use. It's capabilites are great for hand held devices as well. I use it with my pandigital e-reader and it works just great. It finds the router just fine and I'm able to get online with ease using my pandigital. It also works great with my samsung blue ray player that does not have the builit in Wi-Fi capabilitles, we had to buy a extended device to plug into the blue ray dvd player and the wireless netgear picks it up just fine and we are able to play streamline movies from nexflix. The singal does not drop through playing the movie. In addition I suggest buying the extended warranty techniqual support service. Their service is wonderful, I had to get the latest up-grades for my wireless system and re program all my wireless devices, and they were right with me the whole time, they did not hang up when things got irritating or could not figure out a particular issue, they are wonderful to work with and they go up and beyond what their services require. Dependable system and I would recommend this to anyone.

Decent Router

The Netgear WNR2000 Wireless Router is a Wireless N (802.11n) device. The exterior is glossy plastic and has an included stand to make the router take less space on your desk. The 802.11n is only on 2.4Ghz bandwidth. The regular 802.11n standard is on the 2.5 Ghz and 5 Ghz bandwidths. Therefore, this device will interfere with some cordless phones and microwaves on the 2.4 GHz range. There are two version of this router as of writing. There is a version 1 and a version 2. I have purchased the version 1 device. The device includes standard security protocals such as WEP and WPA which is highly recommended and to prevent people from stealing your internet connection. The Netgear WNR2000 Wireless router includes an on/off button should you need to power cycle the wireless router. Traditionally, you would have to unplug and plug in the power adapter. The router also includes WPS, but I prefer the traditional password method.
