My husband and I bought this router when we got our laptop. We wanted to be able to take the laptop around the house and also use our wireless printer. It worked great for a few months, then we couldn't get the Internet to work. So we unplugged the Internet cable from the router and plugged it directly into our desktop. The Internet was fine. So my husband re-installed the router again and hooked it back up at it worked just fine! It has been doing this on and off for over a year now...and when it is working...it works great. However, about a month ago is has really slowed the Internet speed down. I don't know what the problem is? Now, we have the Internet hooked directly to the desktop again and are not using the router at all. We still have not figured out what the deal is, but it would sure be nice to have something that just works for a change! I would not recommend this product, just due to my experience with it! Before we went wireless in this house, people would tell us "just be ready to replace your router about every year". Well, with the Netgear WGT624 wireless router my husband and I purchsed, there have been NO issues. It's been running steady for 3 years now without a glitch. We have 2 PC's connected at all times, and when I, or our son comes home with laptops, we hook right up. Don't be folled or scared, just go out and get wireless with Netgear.

Let me begin by saying that I don't have much to compare this against.   So, it is not like I can say that this router is better than others.  However, it came with a lot of instructions and even years later when I got a new wireless laptop and that needed to be configured I was able to figure out what to do without a problem.  I have had this router for more years than I can remember at this point and I am very happy with it.  The only issue I had was remembering my password but even that I was able to figure out by going netgear.com as my router is registered there.  I would definitely recommend this router to anyone looking to purchased one in the near future.  It is very fast, easy to install and reliable.  Should I ever need a new router I would definitely purchase another netgear model router.  However, as this is an older model I would be interested in looking at the newer models just to stay up to date.  But I have no need to do so as this one works just fine.

Netgear WGT-624 router comes with 4 Ethernet ports that I connected with a network printer, a switch to expand additional 8 ports, a local networked computer, and a internet phone interface for making cheap phone calls. The set up is easy with browser interface.  You can change basic and advance settings right from the router base address 192.168.0.1.  Make sure that you change the password to secure the WiFi setting and preserve your bandwidth.   The router is considered very stable and I only need to restart the router when there is power outtage.  And the best part is that even with peer-to-peer programs, the router can still function beautifully.  The only problem with the interface is my Linksys Ethernet phone jack is not 100% compatible with this router.  Sometimes it works well and sometimes it does not work at all. Overall, the Netgear routers are very consistent in quality.  I have been using this router for almost 5 years now and still working like a charm.

I bought the netgear WGT624 router when I upgraded to broadband from my telephone provider . I chose the 2nd slowest speed they offered , sonce I do any actual work on my computer . The phone guy came and changed a few things at the phone jack . I had the wireless router up and running shortly after . I have been using it for a couple years now . I have had to occasionally had to either unplug it or the modem and plug them back in to reconnect to the network server . I don't if it's due to small power outages or what . The phone company sent out a new modem about a year ago , and I had no problem switching out the old one and reconnecting with the new modem and old router . I may need to upgrade my transfer speeds in the future , but I will see if this router performs just as well before I decide if I also need to upgrade the router. I use my laptop and ipod touch , and sometimes my mac mini all through this router and even out in the yard . All is well , so far , no complaints.

I don't really even have to think about this router, because it is that consistent and reliable.  It is always working and has the little green lights on the front to let me know if something is wrong with it.  I know this sounds silly, but it looks cute.  Looks don't really matter when it comes to this important piece of technology, but it is cute and sort of understated yet stylish.  It is compact and easy to find a spot to put it, since it doesn't take up very much room.  It is very sensitive, which can be good or bad.  My son got to our computer and turned it off and then right back on once.  This fried the little guy because it was done so quickly.  They are relativley inexpensive, so we were able to replace it quickly.  I was so impressed with it that we replaced it with an identical one and have had no problems with it at all.  I know that when I go online we are secure with this little guy attached to our computer, and that is worth every penney right there!

I have a NetGear  router. It gives an extra firewall to your main computer and laptop, plus any ther computers that can connect to your network. Having a router allows you to connect may computers in your home. It connects to my wireless laptop. It routes programs from one tivo to another. It has worked faithfully for over a year.It also connects to another computers in the house. I do not think you can go wrong with a Net Gear.It comes with easy to follow directions. It also has an install cd that makes it very very easy to set up.

This NetGear WGT624 Wireless router is great for home networking.  I have used this for 8 months now.  I am a moderate techie, I will be honest here.  I do know my basic home networking especially when my job requires me to install one certain brand router.  Since then, that router is no longer available, I had to move on to different kind of router.  With a videophone, this is very important to me and my family to be able to communicate with familes that are far away.  Not many routers are compatible with the videophone.  I didhave to do my homework to get all of my computers, videophone and WII all hook up to this.  This is not for someone who is not familar with router installation.  It is not a plug in -play.  If you decide to get this router, be prepare to be frustrated on installation unless you are an expert.  I had to recruit a friend of mine who is expert to explain some points.  I did the work myself with his guide.  I am very pleased with it.  The wi-fi in the house when visitors come, they are able to access the network with the password that was set up.  I hope you find this helpful. The netgear WGT624 Router is a great product and should be used by anyone wanting a wireless network. This is one easy and fast setup if your looking for a quick and easy network for the home or home office. You will have fast speed up to 108kbps that helps with uploads and downloads. You also can get this model of router at faster speeds for a little more money, but I would go with this unit to run up to 4 or more computers and still give you great speed on each. Trying other routers like linksys or dlink are ok but will cost more that you will need or want to pay for good speed overall. Make sure the pc's or laptops have some great speed of there own or you will just have wasted your time. I have had this router for three years now and used it with different ISP's (Internet Service providers). Which to me makes it a real deal to use nomatter what service you are using at the time. Get great range and conectivity each and everytime you connect to this router without having to pay a high price to get connected to the web.

I've been using this modem for over 3 years now and have never had a single problem.  I use it both wired, direct to my main PC, and wirelessly to my laptop and the media center PC.It has everything you could possibly need, including 108Mbps transfer speed over wireless network, both USB and LAN connections, 4 wired outputs, and was a bargain to boot, compared to competitor products.  If it is still available I would recommend it to anyone, and if not, I'm sure that there is a similar later version available from NetGear.It doesn't get much better than this!
