Made in the USA. Still working great nothing has ever needed service. It has many war scares from being used often. A gift many years ago and every year it roasts the best turkey and bakes the best pies and homemade breads are good. Breads don't brown as well as in the oven. Nothing ever burns everything tastes great. I put it to full use because my oven was broken and therefore encouraging me to read the booklet and try some of the recipes. I also use it often for cooking outside on the patio in the summer and for entertaining. Works great for keeping foods warm. I think that it's easier to clean then the oven but I always use a baking dish and put it on the rack to prevent the baked on mess in the roaster, however adding water to the pan usually makes for easy cleaning. Gives off some heat while cooking. Take care when lifting a heavy turkey from the roaster. Use the rack handles and pot holders.

The Nesco Roaster is another item that you've probably seen in your Mother's kitchen and Granny's kitchen for years.  You may have had one passed down to you. My roaster has a removable porcelain enamel liner (the newer models have a choice of porcelain, stainless steel or non-stick liners) and can be washed fairly easily if you have a faucet with a pull-out hose or a laundry tub.  That is one con with this item -- the 18 Qt. liner is quite large and a bear to clean if you don't have the right accommodations for it. This unit includes a rack and has a temperature control that can be set up to 450 degrees.  Newer models may have a maximum of 425 -- check the individual units.  The roaster will bake, slow cook, steam and serve--keeps food at a "holding" temperature.  If you have a lot of buffets at your house, I'd suggest ordering the optional steamer tray inserts which hold 3 separate foods at a serving temperature. Some of the Nesco 18 RoastMaster features and uses: - Portable - Do you need something to allow you to cook in your RV, on a covered patio or are you bringing a large amount of food to a family function? - Has a patented "Circle of Heat" which allows for more even, moister cooking -- no scorching on the bottom. - Holds up to a 22 lb. turkey! - Cooking for a crowd and need an extra oven?  This unit can bake pies, cakes, bread, casseroles, etc. - Want to cook a large amount of chili, stew, spaghetti sauce, a couple of roasts, etc. for the freezer? - Is it too hot to turn on the oven in your stove?  The Nesco Roaster is a much cooler option. The versatile Nesco Roastmaster will be a reliable fixture in your kitchen for years to come.
