If I don't take a regular calcium/magnesium supplement I suffer from frequent leg cramps. Nano-Cal is the best one I've found. It is a powdered calcium and magnesium supplement. The website, www.nanocal.com, claims all sorts of things about how this product causes an ionic exchange and a few other things that sound a bit hoaxy to me, but one thing I can assure you is that it absorbs faster and better than any other calcium I have ever tried. If I feel like a cramp is coming on I mix a scoop (about 1/8 teaspoon) into a glass of juice (it says to mix with water, but I prefer juice). Within 15 minutes I feel the difference. I've found a scoop the day before a long plane flight makes a world of difference- I used to find international flights almost unbareable, but Nano-Cal has made them bearable. I also take it after long hikes or any other time my muscles feel sore. In addition, I take it after intense exercise (along with a banana for potassium and something salty) to restore my electrolyte balance as I do not tolerate sports drinks well. It seems to work very well. I recently ran out and my leg cramps came back after just a week without this supplement. My only complaint with this product is that it can be a bit pricey. One bottle lasts a long time, so it is worth it. I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars because I find the price a tiny bit high and the information on the website sounds a bit "too good to be true."
