Can't live without it!

I received the Brest Friend and the Boppy as a gifts at my baby shower. Having tried both, The Brest Friend is definitely a must-have product for nursing mamas. The clip allows you to be hands free while nursing, and even walk around with it while supporting the baby's head with one hand. During those late night feedings it held the baby in a comfortable position while I could sit back and relax. I recommend this to all new moms over the boppy because it can clip around your waist, and also has an easy to wash cover. Comfort The clip is adjustable with velcro, so it changes as your body changes postpartum! Great feature and easy to adjust. Ease of Cleaning The velcro can stick on other items if you are not washing separately. Other than that, I found it easy to wash if put in a larger garment bag. Durability So far I've been using it for 9 months and its still in great condition! Versatility I think that this will be the last month I use it with my baby, as he is getting big enough to sit on my lap and nurse without a pillow. However, it worked from from day 1 until now. Ease of Use Extremely easy to use and has a great little bump to act as a pillow for the little one while nursing.

BEST nursing pillow ever hands down!!

This pillow compares to no other. Very comfortable and supportive, easy to clean and great storage space for my water bottle or my lanolin cream. My baby girl loved it and nursed very well on it, made breastfeeding easy and enjoyable.

I love My BrestFriend!

I had heard about My BrestFriend from several friends, but since the Boppy brand has gotten more publicity, I had assumed it was the better choice for a breastfeeding pillow. I received both types of pillows as hand-me-downs from friends (the Boppy first, then the BrestFriend) and I have to say that while I do like both pillows, the BrestFriend one definitely has its pluses. My favorite feature on the BrestFriend pillow is that it has a back support, which the others don't have. I like that it has an adjustable clip, as well, however I have to say that I don't like the rough velcro on the front, as it often sticks to my baby's socks (or sleeper) while I am changing her diaper halfway through her feeding. The pocket on the deluxe version is a nice touch, especially for holding pacifiers & a water bottle, etc. and I love the super-fleecy cover which is both removeable and washable! It also has contoured bumps for added support under your elbow (baby's head)

Absolutely Essential Nursing Gear

**With my first baby I had a Boppy and I liked it, but with my second I got the My Brest Friend and I could *never *go back!  ** First, it attaches to you, which is wonderful if you want to put it on and then grab the baby.  It's got a ton more structure than the Boppy, so it holds the baby up much better.  The little bumps for baby's head are a nice touch, especially in the newborn phase.  The fabric on the cover is soft and stays nice even with tons of wash and wear.  You can use the velcro attachment when you put it on so you get the best fit, but then use the buckle to take it off so it doesn't make noise if the baby's asleep!  I love that feature because it's just such an ingenious idea.  Also, the pocket is so brilliant you'll wonder what you ever did without it.  Lansinoh, a little burp cloth, a binky, your cell phone, the possibilities are endless! One more thing I love about this pillow:  My older daughter and my husband both use this pillow as well!  For my husband it's a convenient way to hold our son when he's on the computer or doing something else, and for my daughter it's a great way to help her hold the baby without having to hold her as well.

Not a huge fan.

I was so happy when a friend gave me this nursing pillow as a shower gift. I has heard and read a lot of good things about this pillow and thought tha the design and the fact that it clipped on would make it extremely useful and convenient. However, Once I tried it on, I really hated it. The back strap has a panel that is supposed to be supportive, but I found it to be bulky. I also have a long torso so I still had to hunch over to get my breast down to the baby. I also tried the boppy pillow without good result. I ended up buying a firm memory foam pillow and that worked the best for me. I was able to sit cross legged on the couch with the pillow on my lap and it was the perfect height and did not slip or move. I would save your money and just get the memory foam pillow, which can also be used as a regular pillow later on versus this pillow, which is for nursing only. Also, the cover is difficulty to remove and put back on.

Excellent

I have both Boppy and My Breast Friend, and I love both for different reasons. Boppy of course is great for tummy time and reclining the baby (she can't sit up yet, only 9 weeks old). I keep the Boppy in her room and I use it to feed her when I'm sitting in her rocking chair, because the arms of the chair hold the Boppy perfectly in place for me. My Breast Friend is great exclusively for feeding, but I have more freedom with it than with Boppy. MBF is large enough to hold baby in place even when I walk around the house (I still have to hold the bottom of the pillow of course to support her weight and for safety). So I can use it in living room, get up and walk to the bedroom, sit in front of computer, etc. The relief on my back was wonderful after the first week of horrible neck and back pain. Pocket is great for cell phone, and I love that it's adjustable to any waist size, and doesn't lose its shape like the Boppy can. Snapping it on can be a little cumbersome, you do need two hands. Usually if I'm holding the baby, my husband will hook it on for me, he laughs because he thinks it's funny-looking but agrees it is the MOST comfortable thing to wear while holding baby, because it practically holds her for you!

My Brest Friend is better than other nursing pillows

5

Before I had my first baby, I received the Boppy nursing pillow as a shower gift.  I tried to use it several times but it never seemed helpful - it didn't do any more than a regular pillow.  I did like using the Boppy to prop the baby up for tummy time, though.   I had my second child two months ago and before he was born, I bought a My Brest Friend nursing pillow after reading many positive reviews.  It's been great.  I love that I can attach it around my waist and walk around while I'm nursing, especially since I'm usually chasing after a busy toddler.  I just keep one arm underneath the pillow and I feel that the baby is very well supported.  The baby rests very comfortably on the pillow and I like that I can nurse completely hands-free when I'm sitting down.  SInce the pillow is an odd shape, it's kind of hard to get the cover on after washing, but that's my only complaint about the My Brest Friend pillow.

Helps you get the hang of nursing

5

I received this as a gift and I am so happy I did. I had a really hard time getting the hang of breastfeeding in the early weeks. I saw 2 lactation consultants who each told me something different. I have learned that you really need to find what works for you. When I got this pillow I had already tried the Boppy (which was much much too hard and small, not fitting around my still-huge waist), and rolling blankets to lay under my son. I think this is a much better design because you can adjust it. It doesn't require a lot of fiddling around to position correctly. The foam inside has a unique design that is like a little pillow included to support your baby's head. The pillow itself is wide enough to accomodate any infant. This really sets you up for knowing how to properlly position your baby for continued nursing. I have now nursed my son for 11 months and I credit this pillow with helping me tough out the early weeks and get into a groove that has had lasting success.

Great but only useful for newborns

4

I received the My Brest Friend Deluxe Nursing pillow as a gift before my son was born and it really is a great nursing pillow but I don't think I would have purchased this on my own.  It is a bit pricey and I only used this for about a month.  It did, however, make breastfeeding much easier.  I had problems with breastfeeding in the begining months and this pillow really did take the stress off of it a bit.  It is really soft, latches on around your waist, and even has a little pillow for the baby to rest its head on.  Though we could have used this pillow for a least a few more months it really was more of a hassle to take on and off after the first few weeks.  Being a first time mom I was an absolute zombie and it just wasn't worth it for me to strap this pillow on while my baby is hungry and crying.  It was a bit cumbersome.  I do recommend it if you have the budget to do so but if you're on a tight budget I say it may not really be worth it.  I would recommend the boppy only because it has more than one use - breastfeeding, tummytime, helps prop up baby when they are learning to sit on their own, etc.

Perfect for every nursing mother!

5

One of the most difficult facets of life as a new mother was breastfeeding.  There are so many things to think about and thus so many things that can go wrong - something so wonderful and natural can often become stressful and painful.  The My Brest Friend nursing pillow really helped to alleviate not one but many of these issues!  The positioning it provides is perfect, baby is at just the right height for latching and the firmness and support of the My Brest Friend pillow keeps the baby level instead of letting them slip down, so you don't have to support their weight.  The fact that the pillow buckles around you is another excellent feature.  There are no worries about the pillow becoming malpositioned or slipping off, the waistband keeps it all in place so once you get the pillow on a baby latched you're good to go for as long as you need!  And while you're all settled in for a nursing marathon you can stick your cell phone, bottle of water, or a book into the handy pocket!  This is my go-to gift for all my expecting friends, every new mom should have a My Brest Friend pillow!
