Great idea, poor execution.

These bowls seem like a great idea for that messy baby in your life who loves to throw their bowl or plate off the highchair. They come in 3 sizes, and 3 colors. The bowls have lids that are also all different colors. The lids are very useful for packing snacks in your diaper bag or just saving a bit of lunch that wasn't finished. Overall these bowls are designed very well. They are very sturdy and hold up well over time. They are a good price too. I bought these hoping it would prevent a few messes. Unfortunately I was never quite able to get a good seal on the highchair tray. Whenever I got it on their good my son was able to just slide the bowl over and it would eventually pop right off. If your child isn't too interested in throwing their bowl and are just knocking it over on accident this will work great for you. If you have a child who just enjoys throwing their food this won't help much. But to be fair if it did stick they would just throw the food out piece by piece anyway! Luckily these bowls have lids so they also work well to carry snacks which is how I've been using them. The lids stay on really well.

Love it!

The Munchkin Stay Put Suction Bowls are wonderful! I haven't used them a much lately, now that my littlest is 21 months and not testing gravity so much, but it is one of those great inventions that makes you say "why didn't I think of that"! I found these after my second child was born, and loved the idea that I could control where her bowl went, (and didn't go!) She was always throwing her plate on the floor as most babies do, and I would be cleaning up mess after mess. My friend told me about these bowls that have a suction on the bottom of them so that they stay put wherever you 'stick' them! I did notice as I bought a few other packs, that some stick better than others, but for the most part, they have a good suction, and even allowed me to serve my child cereal, knowing that there would not be a milk mess on the floor. As she got older, she figured out how to 'unstick' it, and that didn't work so well, however, it was wonderful while it lasted!

Munchkin Stay Put Suction Bowls don't stay put

I love the idea of these bowls.  My daughter loves to throw bowls full of food from her high chair.  Unfortunately, these bowls do not work that great.  My one year old can take them off which pretty much defeats the purpose of the suction cup.  It does help her eat without the bowls sliding around which can be a problem for children learning how to eat.  I would just like to see these bowls with a more powerful suction.  I think they are cute and colorful.  I have not had any problems with them leaking.  They are easy to clean and come in different sizes which is nice to have.  They go nicely with other Munchkin products.  Sometimes the suction comes off on its own.  They are a little expensive for plastic bowls.  I would also like to see a bigger package with more bowls.  They are great for bringing to restaurants when you are bringing you toddler.  They would be great for traveling as well.

Munchkin Stay Put Suction Bowls Don't Stay Put

I can't get super excited about these bowls. When I saw them I was very excited! A bowl that has a lid and a suction cup to make it stick to a surface? Every mom's dream, right? Well they would be a dream if they actually worked. I tried and tried to get these bowls to stick and have not had any luck. It's such a shame because the bowl itself is great. They are fun, bright colors. They have a variety of sizes so you can meet your needs. And the lids make them perfect for tossing in your diaper bag or storing leftover food in the fridge. But the fact that you can't get them to stick to your high chair tray makes them loose a lot of value. I feel like I am paying extra for a feature that isn't functional. Basically these bowls were used a few times and then put in the back of the cabinet. My daughter could get them unstuck on her own, so clearly the suction was weak. I was definitely surprised by this as I have found Munchkin to be a reliable and high quality brand.

Munchkin Stay Put Suction Bowls help baby's food stay put

4

We purchased the Munchkin Stay Put Suction Bowls when our baby started to get more 'hands-on' with her eating. One might think that there would be a lot of suction table ware options out there in stores, but there really aren't. We tried a suction plate made by a different company, only to be greatly disappointed. These bowls have, for the most part, been really great. They DO come unsuctioned sometimes, but they 'stay-put' a lot longer than other things that we've tried which is why I rated them as 'above average.'  I found that it helps to very lightly moisten the under side of the suction rubber before pressing the bowl down. They are very colorful and have little handles on the sides to hold on to. Another great feature is that each bowl comes with a lid. This comes in really handy when you need to transport snacks or put a little leftover baby food or sauce back in the fridge for later. Overall, we found that the bowls greatly reduced the number of spills hat occurred since they (usually) prevent baby from tipping the bowl over or dumping the food out.

Okay, seal not great

The Munchkin Stay Put Suction Bowls are just okay.  The seal sticks sometimes if you have it on the right surface.  My highchair tray is not compatible with the suctions on the bottom of the bowl.  The do not stick to the tray.  However, they do stick well on the kitchen table.  The cups are very colorful which is great.  They have lids so that you can store different foods in the refrigerator which helps prevent waste.  I am not really sure if there is much leakage with these bowls.  I had to return them because the bowls were not sticking to the highchair therefore I did not really have any use for them at my house. My kids still get to use them over at grandmas though.  I would not put these in the dishwasher though because you do not want to wreck the seal on the bottom of the bowls.  I would definitely stick to hand washing the bowls.  The bowls are not microwave safe.  I do like how they had different sizes of bowls.

Munchikin Suction bowls stay put and work great

I Love the suction cups on these. I am stick these to the highchair or to the table and I know they aren't going anywhere.  Nothing worse that feeding baby and whoops, there goes the bowl of food everywhere! Plus, you can use them for your little one's oatmeal when you feed them, or their perfect for when they are starting and are feeding themselves.  Makes the little ones feel like big kids when they have their own bowls, and can take and eat what they want without the bowl tipping over or going flying across the room. These are easy to stack in the cupboard, easy to clean, and are kind of soft and not sharp as some plastic bowls or plates. These also come in different sizes and colors -- which helps little ones too with their colors.  And when they're done eating/snacking they can play with the bowls (in the highchair or whatever) mine love to chew on it.  And roll it around the tray.  Great for traveling too.  Stays put on the restaraunt table because of the suction cup on the bottom.

Munchkin bowls are good enough

3

I bought these bowls originally when my daughter was still in her high chair and always throwing things overboard. They worked pretty well at first, but they can be kind of picky about what they will suction to and for how long. Most of the time they will suction at first and then lose the suction after a while. They will only suction to a very clean surface, which as you may know is not always the case when you have kids in the house. My daughter was able to pull these off their suction pretty early on as well. Overall I think this is a good idea, but maybe not excuted in the best way. At the same time, I think it is going to be difficult to design a suction bowl that would actually work as well as I'd want, so I don't want to bash these too bad. We still use them 2 years later, but as a toddler, my daughter isn't as keen on throwing food over on purpose, so we don't worry about the quality of the suction as much.

Bowl stays in place well

This bowl still doesn't stop my daughter from taking the food out of it and feeding the dogs, but at least it's still on her tray, and it doesn't get knocked off as soon as I put it down. The bowls have actually helped my daughter eat more since the food stays on her tray a little longer. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Great concept but doesn't work

The idea behind this product is a great idea.  I imagined sitting down with my child, putting this bowl down in front of him and having him eat out of it and keeping the food on the table or the highchair.  This is not how it worked.  From the start, I put the bowl down on the table and put his highchair up to it and it would stick for a moment.  As soon as my son but any kind of pressure on the bowl it was flung across the room and onto the floor.  I tried doing the same on the highchair table top.  The bowl was again on the floor.  My son would get excited when he ate and sometimes flung his arms wildly and the result was always with the bowl and it's contents all over the floor.  These bowls did not work for me at all.  I wound up returning them and getting one of those plastic mats you put under your child's highchair to contain the mess for an easier clean up.  This is not a product I would recommend.  I have other friends who had the same complaints.
