Easy and Simple

I bought the Arm and Hammer Diaper Pail for my son before he was born. Since then we have had some crazy diapers in there! 8 months so far, and still working like it's brand new. The arm and hammer cup on the inside of the lid serves it's purpose well. The only time you ever really smell anything is when you remove your full bag of diapers. And this is where we introduce the next cool feature; the bags that this diaper pail uses SNAP CLOSED! Once the bag is out you can trap the smell inside while you transport it to the dumpster or where ever. The only thing this diaper pail could use is an easier lid to open. Ideally, a foot pedal to lift the lid would be wonderful. Or an easier latch to unlock and lift the lid. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the latch they have now is backwards. When I am trying to put away a dirty diaper and hold my baby on the changing table, it's kind of difficult to work the latch the direction they have it.

I like the Munchkin Arm & Hammer Diaper Pail

The Munchkin Arm & Hammer diaper pail is an overall okay system. It is small and sleek, and the pail itself is fairly cheap in start-up cost. It is designed with a baking soda dispenser inside to help eliminate waste smells. So far, I haven't noticed a smell coming from the diaper pail, so I guess the baking soda is doing its job. The pail comes up to my thigh (I am 5'6"), so it makes for easy disposal and reduces strain on my back. It is a user friendly system with an easy push to open latch that automatically opens the twisting lid to the interior when you open the lid and closes it against when you shut it. This keeps the smell trapped as far inside as possible. It only holds about 20-25 diapers, so you have to buy the refills fairly often, which can end up at a lot of money, especially for newborns.

Diaper pail does its job

This item was new when I registered for it. Since none of my friends could agree on recommending a diaper pail, I went with the newest on the market. Overall, I am happy with my purchase. First, the negatives. I wish that you could use any trash bag with this. You have to purchase a special bag made for the diaper pail. I also wish that those bags would hold a few more diapers. As my daughter gets older, I can see where the simple design will make it easy for her to open the door to this pail. Now on to the positives. This is simple and very easy to use. Unlike other diaper pails, there is no complicated directions. You open the lid and push in the diaper. Once you close the lid, a small amount of baking soda is released to neutralize any odor. Every once in a while, I do get a whiff of the diapers, but that only occurs when the pail is full and I leave the lid up for a few moments. I have never walked into my daughter's room and had to smell dirty diapers (and her pail is right next to the door). I am very happy with this diaper pail and would buy it again for my next child.

Do you smell that? No? Exactly!

When I debated whether or not I needed a diaper pail, it wasn't because I questioned needing to mask the odor of soiled diapers, but WHICH diaper pail would be capable of doing the job right. This diaper pail mastered the task! By far, one of the best gifts I recieved at my baby shower. It's not too space raiding & it's simple to use. My ONLY complaint is that it doesn't hold as many diapers as I would like with a baby boy who loves to give his parents more than the average dirty diapers. So really, there are no major complaints to notify people of when it comes to this product, if your child averages his or her daily changes. So with that said, I would like to repeat myself & say that this item is a must for those that not only want somewhere other than the regular house trash can to throw soiled diapers, but for those that want a sure fire way to rid ALL of the odor that comes with the yucky diapers.

Best diaper pail yet

Believe me, I've tried them all. I had the genie, with the irritating sausage roll contraption that my poor husband could never quite master. I tried the el-cheapo bucket with at stick up at the top, and everything in between. I can honestly say I got it right this time. Nothing beats good old baking soda for killing odors, and the design of this pail keeps the top twisted without the weirdo sausage effect. The baking soda goes in the top contianer, and special bags fit easily into the can. When you close the lid, baking soda shakes into the bag, and the top twists shut. I have put some doozies in mine, and once the top is closed, the smell is gone! The bags are sold in really small boxes, but they last quite a while(don't let the size of the box fool you). One word of caution, when the lid starts clicking, change the bag! Hubby tried to overstuff it, and wound up breaking the bag- not pretty!

No stinky mess here

I love the Arm & Hammer Munckin Diaper Pail.  My newborn daughter has already had some very stinky diapers but when I put them in this diaper pail I don't smell a thing.  The bags are so easy to put in the pail and they are even easier to take out.  The pail can hold a lot of diapers which is nice because who has time to empty the pail all the time.  I think that we have only had to change the pail a couple of times in the past month.  The product is very compact and fits so nicely into our small room.  We could not have a bigger pail because we do not have the room.  The design of the pail is very nice and discreet, which is what I wanted for a diaper pail.  I really like this product and I am glad that we registered for it.  I would recommend this diaper pail to a friend because I think that it is worth the expense and that it is a good investment for a family with diaper wearing children.

Odorless Diaper Pail

5

After using several different brands of diaper pails with no success on odor control and prevention, my husband and I thought we would give this diaper pail a try. I wish that this diaper pail had been available four years ago when we had our first child (we are now on our third child). The lid closes securely, and my older children have no idea how to get it to open (a big plus). I love that the lid houses a small amount of baking soda which, when the lid is closed, will sprinkle a small amount of baking soda (a natural deodorizer) into the bag. The bag twists slightly as the lid is closed which also helps in preventing any odors from sneaking out. We have gone through a lot of diapers in the time we have had this diaper pail and not once have we smelled anything coming from it, except when we went to pull the bag out to put in our curbside trashcan. I love that the bags snap shut instead of having to be twisted shut ... this makes for simple (and clean) disposal. If you are considering other brands, don't. This diaper pail is awesome.

good concept bad execution with munchkin pail

The concept behind this pail is a good one... But it just doesn't work well all around.  As soon as you get about 10 diapers in it (which in my house is by noon) it already resists closing.  You have to practically break it to get it to shut.  Then if you want to get the most out of your bag (which cost about 50 cents each) you will have to keep "jamming" diapers into it for the next 2 days...  It keeps the smell in but when you go to change the bag you will feel sick.  The odor inside is ridiculous.  I never had such with my diaper genie II. I loved it at first but this love affair was very short winded.  Now I just throw diapers in the trash.

thought it would be better

I bought this product when it first came out because I really liked the whole baking soda concept and so many of the other diaper pails got mixed reviews. I have found both positives and negatives to this product. The positives: The bags hold a good amount of diapers. The refill bags and the pail itself are moderately priced. The pail is easy to open. The refill bags are easy to take in and out. The refill bags snap shut very easily, so you do not have to try and tie it shut. The negatives: The baking soda comes out very quickly and does not actually go onto the bag like it is suppossed to. There seems to be a lingering smell around the pail, especially when the top is opened, but I suppose the smell could be a lot worse. The top sometimes does not shut which causes me to have to readjust the bag. When I have trouble shutting the lid it makes a lot of noise and sounds like it is breaking. Some of the mess from the diaper can squeeze out when pushing it into the pail.

Very Nice

I had received this diaper pail as a gift back in March mainly because I was using a bucket and the person who bought me the diaper pail thought it would be much better. I was told by many people that the diaper genie was not very good at all there was still alot of smell and it was not any different then using a bucket. So when I tried the munchkin diaper pail I was very surprised and very impressed. I don't think it is very dirty to use and it doesn't smell up the area where it is in.  The only little issue I might have with it, but I dont consider it a big deal anyway is when I open up the top baking soda tends to poor out a little too fast but at least it does what its duty is. To me I don't think it is noisy like I have seen on other reviews of this product so I don't really understand what they are talking about. I believe I would recommend this product to anyone. I am glad that when I first had my daughter i didn't put down the diaper genie because I would be stuck with it. We have had comments from others telling us it is a relief that we have this munchkin diaper pail.
