Great little heater, when it works.

3

As the title states, this is a fantastic heater when it decides that it wants to work. Judging by the other reviews it's a good possibility that we received a faulty product. This Mr. Heater was originally purchased for activities such as hunting or camping, but has been used for other things as well. It has really come in handy when the electricity is out during the winter, which seems to happen alot around here, and we don't want to have to use the generator all night long. We may have just gotten a bad product, but sometimes our heater won't stay lit. It will turn on and act like it is going to work, but fifteen minutes later it just shuts itself off. It heats up a room really quickly and keeps it a nice comfortable temperature. It has different settings so you can adjust it to your liking. I love that it has the safety feature on it which makes it shut off if knocked over, though we haven't tested it out. Overall I like this heater and it seems like an isolated incident, but make sure you test it out right away so you don't get stuck with a partially functioning one like we did.

I have one for my shed

I like this little guy.  He feeds on standard propane tanks.  I also bought the hose with adaptor so I can use the large tanks but haven't so far. I recommend it for heating up small areas.  It is safe and will turn off if tipped.  Also has built in CO sensor but doubt if enough CO will ever build up because it burns very clean.

Winter Ready!

I love my heater buddy.  We are in a very rural area in Maine and frequently lose power, about 6 to 8 times per winter!  We have only an oil furnace and when the power goes - so does our heat.  The heater buddy is so reliable and easy to use that my two children, ages 10 and 13 can safetly operate it in a pinch.   It is a great back up heater and uses only two-1 pound propane cylinders (the small ones); which are very innexpensive - so we keep several on hand.  The heater runs about 6 hours if on the lowest; or 3 hours on the highest setting.  It's compact durability makes it very portable and safe to use in most situations.

Heats up a room fast when your without electricity.

Our electricity has gone out twice this year so far and the cold is just starting to come in Minnesota, so we decided to invest in this space heater to heat us up when things like this happen again. It did it's job, and warmed up the room within minutes. It also has a variable setting from low to medium to high. My recommendation would be to click the pilot light then turn it to high. Then as the room is warming up, turn it down, otherwise you will smell the odor of propane. I like that it will shut off if knocked over and that it has a carbon monoxide detector in it if puts out too much gas. The propane tanks are said to keep going for many hours, so we stocked up on those too. It's a good thing to have on hand in emergencies. Someone told me it's a good gift for those who go ice fishing or for a porch or veranda. Just remember to take the propane canisters off when your done with it. Someone told me they could leak if left inside the heater for a long while

Helped me survive camping in a tent with 3 kids under age 6!!

When my family talked about doing a camping trip in August, I was a little nervous.  We have a 5 and 3 year old, and also a new baby boy who was 5 months old at the time.  It was supposed to be a cold weekend and even though my parents have an RV, our little family had planned to stay in our tent.  I immediately had flashbacks of 2 summers ago when our second daughter was a baby and got so cold in the tent that she just cried and cried until the whole camp was awake. I thought I would be able to keep her warm with blankets, but it just cools down so much more in the mountains.  This time, my husband bought the Mr. Buddy heater to use in our tent.  I was surprised that we could use it inside like that with the propane tank, but we just had to leave a little ventilation. Our tent is really big, so it took a little while to heat up, but by the middle of the night we were toasty warm (actually had to strip the baby down to a onesie!) even though it had cooled down to 33 degrees outside.  All the kids slept like champs! (We did have to change out the tank once in the middle of the night.) My husband has also taken this on his boat fishing on cold days... can't wait to get more use out of this little thing this winter!

Mr. Heater - best little space heater I have ever used>

I just want to spread the word on "Mr. Heater."  Model MRH-MH18 B.  This sweet little space is just the thing for anyone whose home is all electric and wouldn't benefit from and electric space heater during a weather emergency. I live in the Northeast and we have had record snow amounts this winter.  My home is total electric, so my son went shopping and found this wonderful little space  heater that is fueled with propane gas.  It uses the little 2 lb. bottles that are very easy to exchange.  The heater is extremely compact and very light weight, making it easy to move wherever you need it.  When the power went out I was so glad to have it.  The cats and I snuggled up in front of it and didn't feel the chill at all.  Check it out and see if you love it as much as I do!

The "Buddy" Heater Is Ideal For Small Spaces

5

The "Buddy" heater is ideal for a small area where you need "some" heat, but not a lot.  It works well in a small room or the cab of a big truck. It is economical to use.  The one pound propane cylinder that attaches to it will last anywhere from 6 to 8 hrs depending on the setting you're using. There are two different heat settings that make this unit a blessing.  Unlike a lot of portable heaters with only one setting, the Buddy gives you the choice of high or low.  There is also a pilot light on it that makes for better operation as you don't have to keep relighting it. I have used this heater in the cab of a big truck and it makes a remarkable difference in the temperature when parked in a "no idle" zone.  The Buddy warms up the temperature of the cab in a matter of a few minutes and keeps it warm for several hours. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone who has a need to heat a small area.  This would be a great investment for people that like to ice fish and need to have some "safe" heat in their shanties. Just remember to keep a window slightly cracked or have a some kind of ventilation available to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.
