Mr. Coffee Coffee Maker gets the job done but nothing special

3

I have had this coffee maker one or two years.  The previous coffee maker that I owned was also a Mr. Coffee.  It makes a decent cup of coffee. I do not think that there is anything special about the coffee that it makes.  I do like that it makes it super-quick and I think that the temperature is perfect.  This one is not programmable and does not have any bells or whistles.  It is very basic: turn it on and off.  I do not like that the top is domed. It makes it difficult to drain any left over water out of the tank.  I ended up pulling it completely off and keeping it off because it is easier to put in the sink.  I love the feature that it has to keep you from forgetting the coffee pot and making a big mess. My last one did not have that feature and I made messes.  The spicit spits out water kind of wild so if my filter is not in perfectly it will fold over and I will have to re-do my coffee.  I am also suspicious of the measurement amounts on the outside of the maker. Over all: You get what you pay for.. and I didn't pay a lot.

Good for what it is.

So we bought this coffee maker one year because my husband decided he wanted to start making his own coffee.. I finally got him budget conscious.  It was the cheapest model we could find at the time but it was a Mr. Coffee so we expected a lot out of it.  The first problem that we had was that the coffee maker was that the carafe didn't sit properly and sometimes it spilled over when it was brewing.  The second problem was that the grounds sometimes got into the coffee but I attribute that more to my husband not knowing how to make coffee well.  The biggest issue we had was that there was no automatic shut off and we are both quite forgetful.  We came home many a day to a very burned pot of coffee.  If you are looking for something cheap that does the trick - this is the coffee pot for you.  If you are looking for something that is programable or a set it and forget it pot, I would go for something else.

don't get it!

This is one of the worst coffee pots I've ever had. It seems to cause the filter to bend and there for the coffee grinds get into the coffee. The coffee does not get very hot. I'm looking for another.

Simple and Effective 12-cup coffee maker

We have had the Mr. Coffee 12 cup coffee maker for almost a year now and it is still working great and brewing us delicious coffee!  When it came down to it I bought this coffee maker because of the price.  I read reviews online for simple coffee makers and there really was not a huge difference in reviews.  So I bought the Mr. Coffee maker because it was such a great price.  It does the job we need it to and it very easy to clean.  We hand wash the coffee container and maybe every other week we threw it in the dishwasher for an extra clean.  This coffee maker looks clean on our counter and is not too big that it draws attention.  When we first started using this coffee maker sometimes the coffee liner would fall in front of the water spout and then let grounds go into the coffee.  I do not think this was the coffee makers fault because once we were conscious of making sure the liner was in correctly we did not have this issue.  This is a great coffee maker if you are looking for something simple.

Mr. Coffee - Class 12-Cup Maker

Our Mr. Coffee pot was lost in the move. We tried to get a cheaper coffee pot, at least until we unpacked and had gotten settled, and it just didn't work. It burnt out or stopped filtering, and it made a poor cup of coffee before it broke. We went right back to Mr. Coffee. I'm pretty familiar with this brand.  It's a classic, and I've never had a problem with one.  They are standard too.  I know what filter to use, and I can almost eye the right amount of water to top it off or to figure out how to only make four cups. It's good to go in the morning, and I don't have to worry about coffee overflows or cleaning grounds out of my coffee.  I can pour some before it's all made if I really need to, and sometimes, I do need to. Cleaning this maker is pretty easy too.  The basket and carafe are easily taken out, and the body of the maker cleans great when you run either a cleaner or a household staple like lemon juice or vinegar.  If I hadn't lost mine, I wouldn't have needed to go shopping for one, because this maker lasts too.  My biggest fear, breaking the carafe, is eased because I can always order a new one.  It's just harder when the entire thing goes missing.

Decent coffee maker - Mr. Coffee TF12 12-Cup Coffee Maker

3

I can't say that I'm overly impressed or disappointed with **Mr. Coffee's TF12 12-Cup Coffee Maker**. The coffee it makes is not the best I have ever had, but I do not think it is that bad either. I guess you could say that it is pretty standard home coffee maker coffee. It does brew the coffee at a nice and high temperature, so that is a plus. On the plus side, this coffee maker is about as simple as they come. The only option for the TF12 is to turn it on or off. There is no timer or any special functions available on this coffee maker. The only "special" function is the brew and pour thing, which lets you take the pot and fill a cup and stop the brewing before it's completely finished. I don't use this function since I think the coffee tastes better when you've let the whole pot brew. When it comes to setting it up, the water reservoir is easy to fill and easy to fill to the level you want. That's because the coffee maker lets you see the water level from the outside and the number of cups are marked so you can see how much you will be brewing. The TF12 makes up to 12 cups, though at our office, we usually use it for 6-8 cups at a time. The brew basket accepts regular paper coffee filters and there's enough depth that you could actually double the grounds for iced coffee. Brewing is fairly fast for the machine. It makes about 8 cups of coffee in about 5 minutes or so. The full 12 cups takes a little longer. The heating element underneath the glass coffee pot keeps the coffee hot, though if the pot gets low, it can actually boil off the coffee, so we usually just turn it off after we've taken our first cups and then reheat the coffee in the microwave if we use the rest later. The machine is easy to clean. The glass coffee pot has a plastic lid that is easy to wipe and scrub and the pot itself has a wide open that makes it easy to get in and scrub any stains or burned coffee. The brew basket is removable so you can wash it. The only real hard parts to clean are the water reservoir, which we just rinse out from time to time and wipe the best we can. Overall the coffee maker serves the needs of my small office well. There are two of us who drink coffee regularly and we've been brewing a morning pot of coffee for quite some time on the machine. I like how easy it is to use and how easy it is to clean. The coffee produced is okay and at the very least, is hot when it is brewed, which is something that can't be said for some other similar coffee makers I have used in the past.
