Horrible battery life

4

Great phone, horrible battery life. It's durable, easy to use and straight forward. The camera wasn't the greatest but 5 megapixels is horrible now compared to the new phones out so you get what you pay for. I have stuck withg the Droid since the beginning and I went through three of the Droid 2's, all due to water damage. It did the job for me though when I needed it too. It's not too fancy anymore but it was when it first came out. Voice Quality Good, I never had any issues. Battery Life HORRIBLE BATTERY LIFE! I had to dim all the lights, I couldn't have any fancy wallpapers, I couldn't play games too long or multi task on the Internet. This is the only bad part about this phone. Durability Pretty durable, until I dropped it in the toilet. It's scratch proof, but not water proof. Ease of Use Very simple to use, I am an Android user though so I can't necessarily compare it to anything other than Droid's. Design Love the slide out keyboard, it so hard to find a good Smartphone with an actual keyboard anymore.

Very good smartphone still

5

Very good smartphone still in 2013. I still use it and it is real nice Android operating phone. Only downside is the "QWERTY" Keyboard is a bit small but the touchscreen keyboard is probably the best way to go. I use it with page plus and it works great on the network.

A Paperweight

2

This thing is like a brick. It was a smartphone but it should just be put on your desk as a paperweight. It is not as fast as the newer models that are out there but it still has the same apps and is way cheaper. The slide out keyboard is nice if you like that sort of thing but that is the reason it is so massive and heavy. Just can't get past of you much it weighs you down.

Great phone

I have been using this phone for about a year now and I love it. It takes great quality pictures, good speed, the buttons were easier to use than I guessed they would be for texting. I have been pleasantly surprised by the durability of this phone, as I have dropped it numerous times and it has yet to have any problems

Well rounded smartphone.

Overall this product is very good. I'm disappointed that after 1 year I am having trouble with my battery life but other than that I have no complaints. Battery Life It was very good when I first got my phone a year ago and it has started to taper off. Some days I have to charge it a few times to make it through the day. Call Quality I very rarely have dropped calls but on occasion it cuts out from poor service areas. Durability So far very durable. I have cringed multiple times when I have dropped it just sure that I have damaged it but so far no damage including no scrapes or scratches. Design I like that it still have the keyboard. I know I will eventually have to switch to a smartphone with only a touch screen but I like that I have either option on this phone.

I love my Droid Pro!!

5

I have been carrying my Blackberry 8330 for years now. Due to age, the battery life finally forced me to invest in a new phone. I chose the Droid Pro. I have been eyeing the Droid line for about a year and chose this model because it offers similar features to my Blackberry but offers so much more. I love that I can step right into using this phone since it resembles my Blackberry. I played around with the touch screen Droids but much prefer having the keyboard built on the phone like it is on the Droid Pro. However, for those that love touch screen, the Droid Pro is capable of that as well. It offers the best of both worlds between the Blackberry and the iPhone. I have had no issues with using this phone. It is very easy to use. I have access to my work email, personal email (gmail), facebook and twitter via this phone. I find the Droid Pro to be much faster than my Blackberry when surfing the internet. However, my emails are received a little delayed as compared to the Blackberry (about a 15 minute delay for me personally). I love my new Droid Pro and hopefully this is the gateway to get me used to the touch screen craze going on now.

Pretty good phone

In an attempt to catch up to the rest of the civilized world, I finally caved and bought a smartphone.  After playing around on all of the phones at the Verizon Store for awhile, I decided on the Motorola Droid Pro for several reasons.   The main attraction was having the touch screen along with actual physical keys; not in a slide out fashion.  I tried getting used to typing on the touch screen only phones, and could not get comfortable typing without making mistakes.  I feel like the Droid Pro is a good median.  I'll have the QWERTY keys available, and adjust to the touch screen at the same time.  The other draw was the Android OS.  I am a programmer, and really was looking for a robust OS that I could explore.  Android delivers and more.  Customizable menus, contacts, email, and google voice really make for a device that does it all. There are some quirks that have been irritating however.  The phone screen seemingly goes black now and then for no apparent reason, and the proximity of the menu keys to the top row of the physical keys leads to accidental touches.  These aren't major issues, just things to keep in mind. I have a lot to learn but I have no regrets with this decision.

Loving the Droid Pro!

5

Really, what is there not to love about the droid pro!!!! First and foremost I like the layout, design and just the overall look of the phone. Some have compared the droid pro to a blackberry, but personally I have never owned a blackberry. So therefore I would not be able to rate it in comparison to the blackberry. I will admit in just a glance some would think it could be a blackberry. I think the screen is a really nice size, I mean you can see alot of details when watching a video. Your not constantly squinting your eyes to see the screen. The touch feaures are pretty reliable. What I mean is that when I touch the application I want it opens up. I love the widgets and shortcuts. It's awesome when your trying to drive and call someone, yes I know that's illegal. Overall I am in love with the droid pro!!!

the droid pro is for kids

My previous phone was a Droid Eris from HTC, hated it! I had a Blackberry for a couple of years prior to the Android system and loved it. This phone reminds me of my Blackberry but soooo much better of course. I am very happy with this phone except the keys, the ridge design is a litle hard to get used to but I know I will. I read a review about the screen not being bright enough, seems just as bright as all the other phones out there and the battery life is perfect for my use, some emails, texting and phone calls, hasn't died on me yet! However this phone is more like for teenagers although this phone is a very gweed phone because its a smart phone it has the keyboard like something the kids would like to txt and it isnt the best smartphone it has a small screen and well i just think its more like a phone for kids im sure theall have a great time with it sence they dont need to be using the smart phone functions.

I love my DROID Pro.

I will start by saying that this is the first smartphone I have ever owned. I refused to upgrade to a smartphone while I had a perfectly good PDA; however, it recently died after 4 or 5 years of service. I am a loyal Verizon customer, so I began looking at the phones that were available (& affordable) for my upgrade. Initially, I thought I was going to get a Blackberry, but found the DROID Pro on Verizon's website. The DROID Pro wasn't scheduled to be released for 2 more days when I was doing my shopping research. I was very hesitant about ordering a smartphone that was new to the market as my first smartphone, but the pre-sale deal that Verizon was offering was too good to pass up. So I took the risk and ordered it and am so glad that I did. The DROID Pro is compatible with Microsoft Exchange for 2003, 2007 & 2010. My employer currently uses 2003, but will be upgrading to 2007 in the next few months, so I'm good to go. Setting up my DROID Pro to sync with my company e-mail and calendar was so quick & easy that I don't remember how to do it; the phone walks you right through the set-up steps. I also set it up so that I can check my AOL e-mail (yes, I still use AOL) and Facebook with no problems. I suppose my biggest challenge was setting up a Google account as my typical usernames were not available, so I actually went online on my computer to try various usernames. I really enjoy that my DROID Pro has both a keyboard and a touch screen for entry. The Android marketplace has proven to be easy to navigate to find and download the apps I needed and some I found that I wanted; the "Places" app came in real handy during the Thanksgiving trek home to see the family. I also like that I can view the screen either via portrait or landscape, just by turning the phone; and the ability to "stretch" webpages to view "full websites" made Black Friday shopping and comparison easier. The headphone jack is compatible with the MP3 cord I use in my car to play music through my car's stereo system - which is great as my MP3 player bit the dust recently as well. I've also added the Pandora app so that I can stream music when I tire of my music library. Also useful is that the phone powers down the screen in a relatively short period of time when not in use; I'm assume the time can be adjusted, but the default works for me to save my battery. The DROID Pro also locks the touch screen when it powers down and/or when placed in a pocket, so I haven't had any pocket dial fiascos yet. While I haven't explored every feature the phone has, I am extremely pleased with my purchase.
