A solid phone

3

I got this phone a few years ago and used it up until this past summer. It served me well for more than two years. This phone proved to be very reliable. It survived countless drops onto every surface for carpet and tile to asphalt and concrete. After every drop it continued to work without a problem. While the outside did receive some scratches it did not affect it overall performance. The phone has good call quality and I never had problems with receiving signal. The phone is not very good for sending text messages though. It is hard to use the keypad and the phone does not store very many text messages. The inbox only holds 100 messages. You can set the phone to automatically delete messages to keep the inbox total below 100 but sometimes messages that you don't want deleted get automatically deleted. After years of use the phones battery began to die and when I finally replaced it the battery would only last a few hours max. Overall it was a good, reliable basic cell phone.

This Motorola x385 is an excellent value for the money!

The Motorola w385 phone has been a great phone in my history of phone ownership. While it does not support smart technology, it is quite indestructible, has a clear screen, and easy to press numbers. It is great for text-messaging and has the basic qualifications that I look for in a phone; multiple ringtones, alarm functioning, and text messaging. It only comes in two colors and does not have any fancy cover colors, but provides a basic quality phone experience that is valued in my day-to-day life. The battery life is quite long unlike the Motorola Droid, which because of it's multi-functions, often drains the battery. Overall, I would rate this phone as an excellent basic phone for text-messaging, calling, and other basic phone usage. It's extremely reliable, grippy, loud ringtones, great sounds and it's ease of use make it a quality phone especially for first-time phone users and experts alike.

motorola w385 is a great phone for simple tasks.

The Motorola w385 is a great phone for making calls and that is about it.  Texting is not difficult, but sometimes time consuming, especially when the word you are looking for isn't programed into the phone, the iTap program is excellent when the word you are texting in is recognized, but a real pain when the word isn't that is when things get kind of time consuming.  The internet program on the phone is good for simple tasks. I really don't like the fact that there are no games on the phone!!! the camera isn't all that great compared to some other phones with a camera, but it is better than some of the others.  This phone gets what i need it to do done and no much else.

Mostly Satisfied

I really enjoyed this phone. A couple of my friends had it also. It takes pretty good pictures and has a decent amount of memory. It turned out to be pretty durable. Motorola has always been one of my favorite phone brands.

I have been using this phone now for over two years, and it does absolutely everything I need it to do.  It is a basic "no frills" phone, but can be used for texting, as an alarm clock, as a calendar, and contact book.  I have dropped this phone on several occasions and it is robust enough to take the wear and tear of everyday usage.  The volume on calls, and ringer are perfect and are easily adjustable.  A charge lasts me a couple of days, so I don't have to remember to plug it in every night.  Texting uses more battery, but only because the screen is lit up when entering text.  I am satisfied with this phone, and would definitely recommend it.

I was issued this cell phone as a part of my job as an on site property manager. For everyday use, its a decent cell phone. In light of the current tecnology of smart phones, I do not really see a reason to purchase this cell phone, other than for emergency situations, or just to say you have a cell phone like everyone else. There are a few negatives to this cell phone. First, the vibe setting is nto all that great. I wear my cell phone in a holdster on my hip, and when it is on vibe I miss a lot of calls. Also, it does not have a setting for both vibe and sound simultaneously. I enjoy this feature on my other phones. As I mentioned before, I carry this phone in a holdster. My particular holdster uses a magnet to keep the cover latched. When I pull the phone out of the hodlster, often, as it passes by the magnet, it magnet kills the incoming call. I dont know if you can fault the phone for this, butit is something to take into consideration. Overall, its a decent phone.

Great Little Phone

I decided to try the Motorola W385. It's a great starter phone. It has a great grip to it. Nice color screen and color keypad. It is a very basic phone. There is no changing the colors on the screen and I was very disappointed with the ringtones the phone came with as well as not being able to access certain Tones. The only tones you are able to purchase are the SONY Tones, which I didn't find much to my liking. With this phone you are able to picture i.d. contacts as well as assign individual ringtones.  The exterior speakerphone button is located where it's easy to accidentally activate. Not a big deal, i just need to adjust the way i hold my phone and all is well.Camera takes decent pictures. If you want better pictures, then you should be using a digital camera.I was able to leave the phone on for 5 full days, not turning the phone off once and also with usage before having to recharge the battery. The battery life is great. The reception on this phone is very good as well as the call quality. Speakerphone is okay and bluetooth usage is fine.

I was very disappointed with my Motorola W385

The battery life was a big disappointment and the tools were very limited.  I had to replace the wall charger twice and the battery once within the first six months.  I'll never buy another Motorola phone again.

Wonderful phone

This is one of the best phones i have ever had, it is extremely scratch resistant its all most like its water proof, i droped it in a different liquid on five or six seperate occasions and it still works to this day ive never once had any tachnical difficulties. The only bad thing i can say about it is after you drop it about 100 times the face plate starts to fall off and sometimes the charger stops working
