I picked up a bunch of Minute Steamers on sale in the hopes of being able to add rice as a side dish on days when I am rushed for time. I was not impressed with the Spanish flavor, but I am happy to report that the Fried Rice flavor is much better. These steam fast in the microwave, five minutes total from freezer to table. This one smelled good while steaming, a nice teriyaki aroma. Your mileage will vary on the texture, depending on how 'fried' you like your fried rice, but at least it wasn't dry. This version is on the soft side, actually. Family members with chewing issues should have no trouble with it, and there's some egg protein in it as well. All in all, I'm going to keep this one in my lineup, even though I prefer the taste and texture of fried rice from the restaurant on the corner. This is a good cheap and fast substitute for busy nights.
