Milk-Bone Essentials Plus Chewy Treats are just that; Essential! They are a great variation of the classic Milk-Bone because they are chewy, therefore last a little bit longer! They are still very easy to break into smaller pieces if you so desire. They get a little stale after a long time sitting, but that is totally okay because it is like they revert back to the classic dog treats! My dogs love the regular Milk-Bone, so it was no surprise that they loved the Chewy variety as well. It comes in a great resealable bag and stayed fresh longer than most other treats would. The flavor was an instant hit with both my dogs who can sometimes be very picky with treats. I like that they last a little longer than other treats due to the chewy factor, because my dogs tend to scarf any food down too fast because they are always in competition with each other as to who gets more. We have always had large dogs so most of the food treats that I bought would say for large dogs, however, I found that the mini sized Milk Bones is just the right size to use use as a reward or treat for any sized dog. The milk bones are low in calories (around five calories per bone) and the cost per treat won't make you think you are going to have to take out a bank loan. The dogs know where they are and when I go that direction they beat me to the cabinet that I store the treats in. These low calorie treats are a great tool to use If you are trying to train your pet. I order these on the internet and the dogs seem to know when they have arrived. Normally they don't pay any attention to a delivery but when it's their treats they are up and ready to great. If you take your pet with you in the car, these travel well and we find that it is best not to change foods or water if traveling with pets so we take some of these with us and give them one or two when we come back from eating. Keeping their routine and diet the same has made traveling with our pets a lot more pleasant.

I have 3 very rambunctious dogs. One is very, very big (he's about 20 lbs overweight...he's on a diet and will be in a bikini in no time!), a 10 lb dog and a 20 lb dog. These dogs are extremely spoiled and well loved. Because my big dog is overweight, I'm always looking for ways to give them treats that I don't have to feel guilty about. I decided to give these a try. 1st of all, my dogs love these (granted, they'll eat anything, but still). Second, it makes me happy to think that I'm giving them a treat but it's good for them too! Like I stated in the title, I'm no scientist, but these yummies are loaded with good stuff. One of the best things is the Glucosamine to help with joint health. My large dog struggles with hip dysplasia so in addition to other supplements he gets, I think that this treat is just an extra help. The only downside I would give to these treats is that they don't last too long. All in all, this is a great, guilt-free treat to give you beloved canine babies!

These Essentials Plus Chewy treats by Milkbone contain no by-products, which I always try to avoid with my pets. Sometimes it is difficult to find treats/food that do not contain by-products so always read your ingredient labels! My pets also appreciate the different varieties of this treat, as they're picky and have a tendancy to not like treats. They've always eaten these when given. Essential Plus Chewy treats support strong muscles and optimal health.
