Horrible - Worst Vendor Experience of My Life

1

I ordered a house full of Milgard windows, close to 50. The latch mechanism on almost 1/2 of them is so hard to use that a strong adult male would have trouble with it. My wife and children will never be able to open 1/2 of the windows unless I sue (and I'm considering it). Here's a simple test for them: Ask them how long the wait is to talk to someone about problems. In my case, it's 5 months before someone will even come to my house to look at the problem. That's pathetic. I wish I had read these reviews before I bought them. I've got leaks in numerous windows. Most of the mechanisms weren't glued in. It is hard to believe they are even in business.

Buyer Beware

1

If you are considering buying any Milgard products--Beware. We are previous dealers and were loyal to only Milgard for a number of years. Milgard has turned out to be the worst company we have ever purchased from. Their windows are almost always made wrong, or they have flaws--and on almost every order they ship without screens. We have to end up making our own screens so we can get paid. They don't take responsibility for their own mistakes and they are more than willing to throw the dealer under the bus at the sake of their own reputation. They NEVER honor their warranty! There are several jobs we can't get paid on because of Milgard's flawed products and hideous customer service. It has cost our business thousands of dollars and has all but ruined our reputation. BUYERS AND PROSPECTIVE DEALERS BEWARE. In the past year their product quality and service has become the worst ever. We will be so glad when we are completely finished with having to deal with them. If you want to save yourself a ton of money and stress--DON'T BUY MILGARD!

Ok product but poor quality control

Very excited about my new windows. I only had 3 installed because the seals failed on my old windows. The slider is fantastic! The locking mechanism is really nice and the window looks really pretty and trimmed out matches the rest of the house. I instantly noticed the room was quieter and the afternoon sun doesn't cook the room as much. The bathroom also seems to sparkle with the P516 finish on the window. The only complaints is that Milgard manufacturing has terrible quality control. They don't appear to check their work and allow defective products to leave the factory. -the P516 was only supposed to be on the bottom half of the window and Milgard made the entire window with P516 -on the sash of my window a portion of the window was deformed or melted and it was very obvious but shipped from the factory. My installer saw all the defects and I immediately got replacements on order but a quick check at Milgard should have caught these minor quality issues that should not have left the factory. Good windows but inspect your order.

we purchased 9 new windows one which was a garden window we live in the chicago area DO NOT PURCHASE A GARDEN WINDOW IF YOU LIVE WHERE IT GETS COLD. my window has a puddle of water in it every morning we had a man come out and he said it is from to much humidity in our house. he recommended a window shade and that only made it 100% worst. i am worried about mold and trust me i am a very good house keeper but getting up on a stool and wiping this down every morning is for the birds

Milgard Tuscany windows

We replaced our 1970's jalousie windows with Milgard Tuscany replacement windows.  Most of the windows are now double hung, however, we have both double hung and sliders (for egress) in each of the three bedrooms.  Placing the order for the windows was very easy through Pacific Source.  I listed the windows I needed, received the information back via email, changed and/or confirmed the windows as needed, and then placed the order.  The windows also meet federal guidelines for the tax credit and also Milgard offered a rebate for the replacement windows. The smart touch locks are easy to use and the fact that the windows fold out to clean the windows without having to go outside. The sliding door is also excellent.  My contractor was very impressed with the door.  He had never seen one that operated so nicely.  (Maybe he wants to order one for himself??) In conclusion, these windows are a great product, makes the house look good.  Milgard also has a lifetime warranty and glass replacement included.  We are very, very happy that we chose Milgard!

Milgard Tuscany windows are the best replacement window I found.

I compared many brands of replacement windows and found the Milgard Tuscany windows and door were much higher quality than the Simonton or Jeld-wen brands. The smart touch auto lock is very easy to use and looks great. The windows also met the requirements for the energy tax credit. When I visited non Milgard showrooms, I found they were comparing their window to Milgard. This raised a red flag in my mind and as I thought about it after seeing what was available, I realized Milgard was the measuring stick all the others were using to rate their windows. So I decided to buy the standard buy which the other windows were measured. No regrets. I also compared dealers and selected California Glass & WIndow (www.cgWindow.com).This turned out to be a great choice. From the comfortable showroom, on time installation by their own employees (who showed up in white dress shirts to install), to the great price they provided, they more than met my expectations!

Milgard Tuscany replacement windows great vinyl choice

We replaced our 1940's double hung windows about one year ago with Milgard Tuscany replacement windows. We chose to have them installed, but after watching could have probably handled the job ourselves.  The windows have been wonderful. When ordering we had many options of glass thickness and could even get the cross reed privacy glass we wanted for the bathroom windows. I especially like the smart touch locks because I can easily see if the window is locked or not.  I also like how the windows can fold out to clean the outside of the window from inside the house.Milgard delivered the windows on time, exactly as ordered and in excellent condition. We have called Milgard warranty once. They set up an appointment within a week to come fix the problem (a few screens wouldn't easily come out for cleaning). When the person came to fix the problem he was polite and professional.  He not only adjusted the problem screens he also lubricated and adjusted  the tension on some of the windows to work better with to the thick glass we chose (probably something our installer should have done). In conclusion -Great product, great service and nice look, with the bonus that if we accidentaly break the glass the replacement is free!
