XBOX 360

I think that the XBOX 360 is nice and it could be more like the XBOX ONE with a standard Kinect in the box. It is useful having 4 USB ports for multiple items. 2 in front and 2 in the back. I also like the wireless internet connectivity. But there's one downside to the whole thing, you have to pay to play games online or use netflix.

Xbox 360 Storage, not the most cost effective

4

I've had some Variant of the Xbox 360 now since the launch in 2005. I love the fact that the hard drive is easy to install/remove from the system. However I very much dislike that the hard drive is inside of a proprietary case and in the case of this specific model, has a proprietary connection to the system. For the same price as this hard drive I could purchase a 1 TB drive myself. This is one place I thought Sony beat Microsoft during this generations console war. With the PS3 you can install any 9.5 MM tall 2.5" wide SATA HDD in the PS3, With the Xbox? I have to go with Microsoft's proprietary drive, and the size is tiny compared to what I could get for the cost. While the price per GB of HDD space sucks, the drive itself performs reasonably well and looks nice. If I weren't concerned about a warranty I would purchase the knock off shells available online and a larger hard drive and go to town.

Great Gaming Console

5

I absolutely love the Xbox 360 console and this is coming from an original playstation fanboy. The multiplayer is much more friendly, with less online games losing connection than the PS3 lobbies. My favorite feature though is the ability to chat friends no matter what they are playing. The hard drive size is a must. If you have Xbox Live Gold you will appreciate the size of the Hard Drive as they have two free games every month. The design of the console is really sexy, 2 USB ports easily accessible up front with more in the back. The graphics of most games are exceptional. Overall I rate this console a 10 because of it's amazing design, deep gaming experience, and exceptional online gameplay. If you are looking to find a previous gen console, definitely go with the Xbox 360, it will definitely be worth the money spent. Plus your online statistics will port over to the next gen Xbox if you decide to upgrade later!

Xbox 360 Hard Drive is highly recommended

I purchased the basic arcade version of the Xbox 360, with no type of hard drive of any kind.  I thought I would be able to simply use the built in RAM, with the occasional flash drive for transporting.  Overall, this proved to be true.  However, this eliminates the ability to download things from Xbox Live, including the backwards compatibility for the original Xbox.  There are also times I would like to try some demos before I purchase the full version of a game, and this simply is not practical without a larger hard drive.  It is unfortunate that Microsoft requires you to purchase their "special" hardware to continue to be eligible for their Live agreement, but you have to do what you have to do.  After purchasing this drive, installation was very easy, and I was up and running within a matter of minutes.  I was able to jump on Live and download some demos, and have since purchased a few very entertaining games.  Really, if you are going to use your XBox for much, you are going to need a drive, and the larger the better.  I would recommond this one.

A Microsoft Xbox 360 250GB hard drive has become a necessity.

Since you can install games directly to the hard drive, getting a large hard drive is extremely beneficial. Games will load faster on the hard drive compared to the disc and you reduce the wear and tear to the disc and the disc drive. A 250GB hard drive is a solid amount for game installations, XBLA games, and any music and videos you have. Installation of the hard drive was quick and painless. I had a 20GB hard drive on my 360. With the included data transfer cable, it took under 30 minutes for the data to be transfered from my old hard drive to the new one. Then I just popped the hard drive off and put the new one in. The 360 recognized the drive and then I began installing the games I had to the hard drive. The biggest downside is the price of a 360 hard drive. Microsoft is the only company that officially provides hard drives for the 360 and the prices are inflated because of this. You will probably be paying double what you would pay for a standard laptop hard drive. However, it is worth the price knowing that you can extend the life of your Xbox 360 and have enough space for games and media with a 250GB hard drive.
