My mother-in-law bought this washing machine for my husband and I after we bought our first house, nearly 6 years ago.  I will say that this washing machine does an excellent job of cleaning the clothes.  My problem with it is that because of the type of agitator that it has, the machine has a tendency to twist up our clothes, causing wrinkles that don't come out in the dryer and these wrinkles are so set in that they are even difficult to get out using an iron.  That's the main negative I have with the machine.  I would like a different one, but it's not showing any signs of breaking any time soon so I can't justify getting rid of it for a new machine!  I guess that would be a positive with it!  I do at least 3 loads of laundry every week, plus more if I have sheets, towels, or dog beds to wash.  That's a lot of wear and tear on it, and it's still going strong.  It can take big bulky items without getting hung up and stopping with an error message.   Overall, this is a good washing machine, but the twisting of the clothes would prevent me from buying another one.

I bought the Maytag Neptune Washer about 6 years ago and I've never had a problem with it. It is very easy to use, and I love all of the settings. The touch screen is a breeze to navigate through and the "stain brain" it a great feature that makes laundry much easier! It is also very efficient and uses so little water. I have checked it in the middle of the wash cycle and I am amazed at the small amount of water in there. It's hard to believe that it can clean clothes effectively but each time the clothes come out stain free. I also love how quite it is. I couldn't stand how loud my old washer was. It shook the walls ande vibrated the foors. The Neptune is exceptionally quite and it's great. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is that the washing time is very long. If you do a warm wash with an extra rinse, it takes almost an hour and a half! Even the "normal" wash setting is over an hour. But this is only a small issue. Overall, this washer does a great job.

The washer is good and does a wonderful job with stains.  We use the cold/cold cycle and it does a great job.  The only complaint is the rubber gets a build-up on it.  Runs very quiet and gives a couple beeps letting you know when the cycle will be done.

I have had this washing machine for 4 years.One of the reasons I chose this machine was for its large capacity. One of its claims were that it could handle a king size comforter. I bought a new comforter for my daughters full size bed and washed it before using. I was devastated to discover that it ripped an unrepairable hole in it during the spin cycle. I contacted customer service because I felt that their claim to handle a king size comforter was not true so therefore they should compensate me for the damage. They were less than sympathetic and did nothing about the damage. As far as they were concerned the washer performed normally and did not malfunction so they weren't responsible.

The Maytag Neptune FAV6800AW Top Load Washer is a great machine, because it is not the typical aggatater,I like the way it wrings the clothes out,not like the old time wringers. It gets all the water out. The clothes seem to come cleaner. The only thing that I see wrong with it is every now and then, the bleach despenser doesn't get completely washed out and a little bit of bleach gets on the next load.Also the fabric softner doesn't get all the way out. It is like it doesn't have enough water pressure going through that line to rinse it completely out. But in all it is a great machine the best I have ever used.

After purachasing many different brands of Washers over 40+ years, the Maytag Neptune Top Load has proven to be the best of all.  Not only do the clothes come out super dry but  than takes only a short time in dryer before ready to hang up. Just love the large load capacity for blankets, sleeping bags and larger items.  The large selection of wash cycles lets you customize every load to fit the items to be washed.
