Pure Garbage

1

Everything about this dishwasher is bad. Cleaning Time Cycles take a long time. Auto clean cycle wasn't bad at first but now it would never end if we used that cycle. Loading Flexibility Awkward arrangements everywhere Design It's garbage and they know it. They act like they're doing you a favor when they come out for one of it's many repairs. Which you will pay for even if the part is warrantied. Durability It's dead again and I refuse to fix it AGAIN or buy another Maytag appliance ever.

Terrible!

2

This dishwasher is terrible. It came with our house, so we didn't exactly select it and we've hated it from first run. Even before we found the chicken bone from the previous owners. yuck! I cleaned it all out thinking that maybe it was just dirty from them, but the dishwasher has never improved. It is not really quiet, but I am sure it could be louder. I am surprised by the incredible ability it has to wash 90% of the items decently and then deposit all of the grime into a few glasses. I cannot drink from a glass without double checking that we didn't miss the nasties when removing it from the dishwasher. I also hate the wire racking, they do not fit anything. Our plates are always struggling and bowls, regardless of size do not seem to fit right. I thought I was being picky but someone recently loaded it up and asked what was wrong with the wiring. The spacing is just off. We used to living in an apartment that had what seemed like an ancient and small dishwasher. That dishwasher was far superior to this one. I wish I could remember the brand, I think it was some off brand, because I would race off to give that brand a much higher review than this. Loading Flexibility TERRIBLE

This Dishwasher is a Total Failure!

1

Seriously Maytag? What happened to your standards? I know Maytag is capable of making an excellent dishwasher, because my Grandmother still has the original Maytag dishwasher that came with the condo that she bought in 1970! It's made of cast iron and still works perfectly. The Series 300 on the other hand is an embarrassment to the company. I bought it to replace my last Maytag which started off great, but crapped out after 7 years. Okay, I get it, nothing is built to last anymore, but this piece of uselessness was no good from day one. I might as well just wash all of my dishes entirely by hand since it won't remove food particles on it's own. In fact my dishes would actually look better if I washed them by hand since the Maytag leaves a nasty white residue on everything that no amount of water softener or rinsing agent will prevent. The repairman they sent out (who apparently isn't so lonely anymore) tried blaming its complete lack of cleaning ability on the fact that I live in a state with very hard water. However, it's the same water that my old dishwasher managed to clean the dishes with until it died of an unfixable leak. Noise Level This is supposedly part of the "Quiet Series" yet it isn't all that quiet. It's not unreasonably loud but it's no quieter than any other average dishwasher. Cleaning Time If I could I'd give it a negative number since nothing actually gets clean. The normal cycle is completely useless so I run everything on the "heavy" cycle which takes a good couple of hours from start to finish. Loading Flexibility I can't figure this one out. This machine is the same exact size as my old Maytag, yet I can't fit as many dishes in it. I think the spacing on the racks is designed differently because the plates seem really crowded together when I load this model. Also, the top rack must have been designed by someone who has no familiarity normal sized mugs and drinking glasses, because the spacing is so weird...in some areas the drinking implements clink around because there's no way to nestle them in securely, and in other areas it's to tight to fit the larger mugs at all. I didn't ever have this problem with any of my previous dishwashers. Performance The performance is a joke. Everything that goes into the dishwasher must be thoroughly rinsed by hand, because and food residue will remain and get baked on during the drying cycle. Anything that goes into the dishwasher with a lipstick imprint will come out with a lipstick imprint, and if you don't rinse off the spoon that I use to stir my coffee, it will come out of the dishwasher with a brown circle of dried coffee. Then there's the chalky white film that you can feel as well as see. It covers both the dishes and the inside of the dishwasher. Running the sink on the hottest setting as I start they cycle doesn't prevent it. Water softener doesn't prevent it. Rinsing aid doesn't prevent it. Pouring a cup or two of vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher right before I turn it own lessens it a little bit, but doesn't prevent it. Design See my comments under loading flexibility. Durability Well it hasn't sprung a leak yet, but it's not even 3 years old and it's getting rust spots in the interior, which is not a good sign.

A simple, quiet dishwasher that gets the job done.

4

This dishwasher hasn't let our family down. We run it every night, and the noise has never bothered us, even in our small (1000 sq. ft.) home. I don't pre-rinse, and it gets the dishes very clean, provided it's loaded correctly and I use a hard water additive. The silverware basket is removeable and can be placed anywhere in the lower tray, which gives you more options for loading large or awkward items. Many of the racks in the upper tray can be adjusted or folded out of the way completely, allowing you to use the space efficently. Also noteable is the fact that it looks brand new inside, even after nightly use in our hard water area.

You can lick your dishes cleaner then this dishwasher will .

You can lick your dishes cleaner then this dishwasher will wash them. From day one the dishes where always dirty after the cycle was done. I went back to the dealer who said "Well is doesn't clean plastic very well." So I went out and bought everything glass. NO. Glass and stainless steel are not getting cleaned any better. I went back again to the dealer and told him this and he said "Sorry you are unhappy lady" I will never buy a Maytag dishwasher ever again. Noise Level It was quite for the first month. Then it started this low continuous grrrrrrrr. Cleaning Time Long wash or short wash dishes do not get clean. Loading Flexibility Who the heck designed this piece of #%@! Nothing I mean NOTHING I own fits in this dishwasher! Performance DOES NOT CLEAN WELL AT ALL! Design There need to be a VERY VERY VERY POOR choice here. Nothing fits. The pieces of plastic that hold the racks break. Durability Just like the other reviews I have read here, We are always having it repaired. The only reason I keep it is because I spent so much on it and I don't want to go through all the hassel of getting a new one. I'll wash the dishes by hand and use it for a dish drainer.

I hate this dishwasher

1

We purchased this dishwasher new about 1 1/2 years ago based on the Maytag reputation and the advertised "quiet" features (as our kitchen adjoins our living area). I absolutely hate this dishwasher. It does not get the dishes clean; you have to almost prewash them, and even then I find residue. I run all loads on the heavy wash with high temperature setting - which takes 2 hours to complete and surely uses more energy than should be necessary. Other cons: - it has too many specialized sections, making it a challenge for me to load effectively - the door is beginning to stick, making it difficult to open - per the manufacturer, you can't use detergent with any additives like a rinse aid. Try finding one! The only pro I can think of is that it is relatively quiet. I am currently shopping for a new stove and find myself avoiding Maytag based on this one bum product.

Self-distruct dishwasher

1

Do NOT buy Noise Level The quietness of the machine is its best feature. Cleaning Time It takes 80 minutes which would be alright if the dishes came out clean.. Loading Flexibility The poor quality of the racks makes it difficult to load since all the moving pieces have broken one after the other; then there is nothing to hold the dishes in place. Performance Most of the time I have to go back and wash the uncleaned dishes by hand. My teacups come back brown on the inside. Design There is nothing positive to say about the design. Durability It started to self-destruct shortly after I bought it. I had it fixed once. It worked for a couple of months and that was it. Since I hadn't bought the extra warranty which you should not have to buy if the product was well made in the first place, I am stuck with this machine until I can afford to buy a new one. It sure won't be a Maytag.

Problems with the control panel within the first six months

1

Don't buy it! We had trouble with the cleaning quality at the beginning, and then the control panel went out and became unresponsive after six months. Had it replaced under warranty, and the tech explained to us at the time that if we chose hi temp wash the dishes would be cleaner. Within seven more months, panel became inconsistently unresponsive again. It is hit and miss whether the dishwasher will start each time. I have to push the button throughout the day, and suddenly it will just start. Hate hate hate this dishwasher, and am happy to say that I just ordered a brand new dishwasher of a different model. I used to have maytag everything, for the past twenty years. Never again, their quality is slipping terribly!

Quiet but poorly designed.

1

This dishwasher was already installed in a house we recently bought. I am not sure how old it is but it looks hardly used so I am sure they had it installed fairly recently. I do not know about longterm reliabilty but after 1 1/2 weeks with it we are ready to replace it. The dishwasher is fairly quiet, which is great. But it is very poorly designed. The racks have so many stupid configurations and options it ends up making it all very flimsy and very hard to load well. Our frigidaire we had at our previous house held boatloads of dishes and you could stack them any which way and they would get clean. You just can't fit much in this one and they rarely all come out clean. It looks great at first glance being able to move all those racks into different positions but you will quickly realize you gave up functionality for some cheap gimmicky racks.

Did we buy a lemon or are they all junk?!

1

This dishwasher was in our brand new house when we bought it 4 1/2 years ago. After 1 year we had to have the circuit board replaced, thank God it was still under warranty. Have always had trouble with the soap dispenser opening. The baskets have too many moveable parts that broke. The silverware tray got a hole in the bottom of it. There was always residue left on the dishes in the top rack. Then about a month ago the circuit board went bad again and made the control panel go as well so we are shopping for a new dishwasher:( The really only good thing about it was that it was quiet!
