I have owned this washer for about 3 years. In that time i have had to repair it 4 times and I am in the process of repairing it again. In order: 1. When it was almost brand new, I had a repairman come because of rumbling noise. It turns out the drum was loose from manufacturer. 2. The drum seal failed causing the bearing to fail. 3. The seal boot had to be replace because of a leak. 4 The drain impeller shaft wore out and caused the impeller to hit the housing. 5. The outer drum is currently cracked and is leaking.

I have had this washing machine for going on two years and never had a problem with this washing machine yet. It gets my clothes clean all this this. I can wash clothes multiple times a week and do not see any spike in my electric bill. So, in other words, this washing machine is for Energy Efficient. The only complaint I have about this machine is the extra noise it makes when it is on it's spin cycle. With this machines extra fast spin cycle it does make some extra noise, but it does state that right on the washing machine. And of course with this extra noise and faster spin cycle comes some extra vibration. I solved this with some leveling of the machine. Besides the extra noise and vibration this washing machine is worth every penny you spend on it. Energy Efficiency Like I said before, I can use this machine multiple times a week and never see a spike in my electric bill. Cleaning Time The cleaning time of this machine is about the same as any other washing machine. Ease of Use Almost every button on this machine is self explanatory. Design Nice sleek design. With the design of this machine it fits in with any home decor.

I absolutely love this machine! It runs smoothly, gets clothes clean, is easy to figure out what setting for what clothes, has plenty of cleaning options, is high efficiency, and is easy to use. My only issue with it is that the self cleaning option punked out on me a little early so when I want to clean the machine, I need to use an alternate setting. And since it's discontinued, there's not much I can do.

I think the Maytag Front Load Washer does a great job of getting your clothing clean, and it even has a convenient storage drawer at the bottom where you can keep your detergents or lingere bags. The washing time is pretty long for some of the cycles-heavy duty clothing is about an hour and twenty-five minutes while the delicate cycle is around forty minutes. Although these take awhile, you can load pretty much clothing into each cycle. I can normally get a week's wort of laundry done in only about four or five loads total. I like the front loading system because you don't have to struggle to lean over the top of the washer to get your clothing out. It's convenient to just open a door at the front and transfer them to the dryer. I never have a problem with this shrinking any of my clothing, and I even wash hand wash and dry clean only clothing in the Maytag Washer. The only problem I find is that the ring around the front door can hold the water. This makes the washer smell sometimes. I always try to run thru a special Maytag cleaner, and I keep the front door open when it's not in use so it will air out.

This washing machine causes many a headache. Firstly, it shakes violently, more so than what would be expected for a washing machine. Put in just a small amount of clothing, of thin material, and the machine shakes like no other. Water leakage is a huge problem, and I don't think that for the time I used this washing machine, anything I did could have prevented a puddle of water from spreading across the floor. When washing clothes, a bucket was always placed at the foot of the machine. Not even within a month of use, the machine started malfunctioning. Even with a small amount of clothes, the machine would start beeping, read "Suds," and stop working, or odder yet, reset itself. Your clothes were always sopping wet, even when using a gentler cycle. I also had problems with detergent actually staining my clothing, even when I used a minimal amount. Moreover, the washing machine is cheap, but does a poor job of washing your clothes, and creates more of a mess than you'd hope for.

We have owned the Maytag Epic Z Washer and Dryer for 4 years now. Overall, I like it just fine. After the first 6 months or so, the dryer began to fall apart. Nothing major or that we couldn't fix but, for the price we paid, I wish it would have held up better. Energy Efficiency We didn't see a huge drop in our electricity usage when we switched to this dryer over our previous one. We also didn't see a rise, so no complaints in this department. Cleaning Time We tend to use the 40 minutes set time that is the default setting. It seems to do the job just fine for most loads. Sometimes with a full load of jeans, more time is required. Performance With five children, we do ALOT of laundry and it still heats and dries our clothling quite nicely. Ease of Use There are alot of different options when it comes to drying the clothing. We tend to leave it on timed dry and the low setting. We don't use most of the features that are available. Design I do wish we could easily switched the door to open the other direction, as our washer has to sit on the right side because of the water hook up. It makes it difficult to move the clothes from one machine to the other with the door the way it is. Durability We have had to replace the gasket twice and the latch on the front 3 times in the 4 years we have owned this machine. Not difficult or expensive, but the parts have to be ordered so it is a pain nonetheless. We are thankful the more expensive parts have not broken, though.

Fairly easy to use. Takes a long time -- 56 minutes by the washer clock; 1:15 by my watch. Most of my complaints are because it's a front load high efficiency. You can't soak clothes, so stains are a problem -- never used the laundry sink so much! Clothes simply aren't as clean -- often stained. Also, laundry needs to come out PRONTO or it stinks. We need to use the washer cleaner every two weeks or it stinks whther its left in there a while or not.

Do not buy this product. I have owned one for over three years and have had constant problems. It started within 6 months of owning. I started receiving an "F-error". Dealt with the error until it stopped spinning and rinsing. After a service call, the tech cleaned the dispenser mechanics and thought it was fixed. A couple months after that, it started again. I ordered the replacement part and replaced it myself. Am currently dealing with water leaking from the front of the machine. The inner seal grows an extensive amount of mold even with regular washer cleaning cycles. I am very unhappy with this machine and will not purchase a Maytag again. Cleaning Time The cycles last much longer than the display says. It will say 1 minute left on the cycle, then it will finally finish 5-7 minutes later. Design Very loud during spin cycle. Durability Less than four years old and have already had two major issues. Am considering buying another brand to be done with this machine.

It's really good as far as getting my clothes clean. I love all the different cycles it has. The only downfall is, the trap gets stopped up from time to time, and it's inconvenient to get to it. It also pops up error codes like 5d and f21, and it will just stop right in the middle of the cycle. Also it's a little noisy on the spin cycle, and it will move from time time while on the spin cycle. Other than that it's great! I also have the matching dryer and it's really great! Design love the look, but wish the doors were movable. How my apartment is set up the dryer goes on the left and washer on the right, so the doors are backwards. It would be easier if the doors would change around.

I absolutely love my Maytag Epic Z front loader. My husband got the set for me as a gift a few years ago and I am so grateful. It has exceeded my expectations, and I have been very happy with it. With all of the different cycles and washing options it gets mine and my familys clothes incredibly clean. It is gentle on clothes, and although it may not look like there is much water there is enough. It saves time and money. It is very quiet except during the spin cycle, and during the spin cycle it does a lot of heavy vibrating, however once it gets up to full speed it quiets down and is still. We have not had the issue with it "walking" like we read about and that I had read reviews on, but I think that more or less has to do with what type of surface or flooring it is installed on. I would recommend this to a friend and would buy it again if given the chance.
