I LOVE this microwave! We bought this when we bought a new range because we wanted them to match, and we have been incredible pleased with it. The controls are labelled well and very easy to use, plus there are lots of different settings to accomodate whatever you are heating. The wide glide tray inside is wonderful feature because it allows you to reheat things in casserole (or other odd shaped) dishes without putting them in a smaller container. Another feature that I love about the unit and that I take advantage of often, is the kitchen timer. You can run this timer for your oven (we have two of them), while at the same time heating something in the microwave and running the microwave timer. It's great to be able to cook and reheat at the same time! I highly recommend this unit.

This Maytag microwave oven was builder installed (and an upgrade at that!). Overall 6 years later...it heats well. The pre-programed menu options work effectively. The popcorn button makes perfect popcorn (doesn't burn on small or large bags!). The baked potato button makes nice potatoes, whether cooking 1 or 4. My main complaint is that this is supposed to be "stainless steel"...yet the front of mine is cracking and rusting!!! You can tell this was made with cheap materials and not built to last. I'm really surprised mine has hung on as long as it has based on other online reviews!! Also the buttons on the keypad are starting to wear (you have to press really hard to get it to take). So while I don't hate this model, I don' t love it either. I'm definately ready for a new model!!

I have been very pleased with this over the range microwave. It is wonderful to have the extra counter space in my kitchen which has been freed up now because I do not need to place a microwave oven on the countertop. The microwave cooks very evenly and quickly. It seems to have a lot more power than my last microwave. I have noticed microwave popcorn gets done much quicker in this microwave so I have had to adjust my cooking time. But the thing that has impressed me the most about the entire experience of purchasing this Maytag microwave is the great service I received from Maytag when my microwave quit working only one day after the one year manufacturer's warranty expired. I was really worried I would have to buy a brand new microwave. Technically, they could have told me they would not do anything because the warranty was officially expired. But the Maytag people were great! They told me no problem and sent a technician out within two days to fix it! I will definitely do business with Maytag again.

When building our new home, we wanted to go with a strong, well known brand, so we choose Maytag for everything.  I am not impressed with any of the appliances.  The microwave is great to look at and as far as a microwave, I guess it is OK, because it does work.  It has all these fancy setting like sensor cook.  If you trust the sensor cook, your food will have exploded in your microwave leaving you to clean up a huge mess and with nothing to eat.  I have used it several times on different items and it has not worked on any of them.  Don't even think of using the popcorn button - anyone love the smell of burnt popcorn?  I have not had any problems with it and it does look cool, so really no room to complain, just wish I had not paid for a microwave to have all these fancy features that don't even really even work.  The inside tray goes side to side instead of around like most traditional microwaves.  Not sure if that warms you food any better, but it is cool.

 had this model installed as part of a kitchen redo 2 1/2 yrs ago. The door handle fell off two months ago and i was told i had to buy a new door b/c the handle couldn't be reattached. then this past week, the oscillating table refused to turn off at the end of the cooking cycle tho the cooking element did. after several service calls, the 5-speed fan barely holds up a sheet of paper that is placed in front of the vent. after searching the web i found that these are common issues with maytag micros.The unit may look good but i'd rate as a "DO NOT BUY".

Two years ago (almost to the day) we bought this microwave and I loved it it heated up food very quickly and I would of given it a high review.... but then yesterday.. it just stopped heating up.. Maytag is not helpful and just said sorry its not under warranty.  Supposedly they are aware that the magnatron in this model is going up around two years, but have not put a recall on it.  Now I have to go out and buy a new microwave.  So unless you want to have to replace an expensive over the range microwave every two years or so.  do not buy a maytag.

  We purchased the Maytag over the range microwave only 2 years ago , first we had a slight problem with  the vent which a repairman fixed ( it was still under warranty) Now  just out of the blue it stopped heating up.  Heated up a mug of water , then went to heat a plate of food and whammo  it did not heat up and has not worked since. I purchased all maytag appliances when we built our house and now I m sorry i did.( by the way my dishwasher also had to be repaired in the first year that we had it )  So much for dependibility . Just waitng for the next one to go. not happy at all
