Great for Dips but watch the heat

4

I love this little crock pot. It comes out every time we have a family party. I add my dip ingredients about two hours before guest arrive. Before the party starts I simply stir and the dip is ready to eat. It stays warm for guest to enjoy. My only complaint is the temperature. As the dip goes down this little slow cooker continues to heat and causes the dip to become dried out. If I turn it off then the remainder of the dip will not stay warm. I still love this little slow cooker and would recommend it to someone for a party, but would also tell them to keep an eye on it. Time to Heat Quick Dips and mixes are always ready very quickly. Cooking Performance It does not heat evenly and heats very quickly which can cause some dips to dry out. Ease of Cleaning It cleans like other crock pots. Easily after you let it the inside soak with warm soapy water. Ease of Use This little crock pot is so easy to use and has basic instructions. I would really recommend the user to watch the heat.

It may not be big, but it does have a small purpose

While you won't be serving your family of five a full meal from this device, this slow cooker does have some good uses. It's definitely not a must have item in every cooks kitchen, but it does have a place, especially for those who entertain. I have used this to make to keep mini cocktail weenies and mini BBQ meatballs warm, as well as to make warm party dips. The number one this I use this for though is making jam. I only make about two to three jars at a time, so this is actually the perfect size for it. I put my fruit in, a bit of sugar, and let it cook for hours until it becomes jam. I love it because it frees up my stove top and pots for other uses and I am able to let it be and not even think about it. This is particular slow cooker is not practical for everyone. It's not fancy and it's not big but it is easy to store and easy to clean. If you are looking for a "real" slow cooker, then skip this one and buy a bigger one.

Handy little crock pot for dips and appetizers

4

I bought this small crock pot to use mainly when I have parties.  I tend to make a lot of dips and appetizers, so a 1.5 quart crock pot seemed like a great idea.  I used it the other day to keep a buffalo chicken dip warm and it worked great!  The only issue I had was that it was too small to actually prepare the dip, I had to make it in a bigger pan then transfer it to the crock pot.  Since that isn't a big deal, it worked well for me.  I'll probably buy another one in this size, and maybe one more in a 2 quart size.

Convenient little device

This is certainly a handy little device to have around for occasional events.  It is the perfect size for dips, queso, and everyone's favorite Superbowl food- Little Smokies.  It keeps all these things warm and handy. Of course, you aren't really going to be able to cook much of anything in one of these pots, but this is not the point of a mini crock pot. The pot comes out for easy washing, which is a nice feature.  Other than that, there is nothing all that impressive, or unimpressive, about this particular appliance.  It has your standard heat settings, and they all seem to be pretty close to what one would expect them to be.  Unlike many special appliances, it is compact (by its nature) and therefore doesn't take up too much precious cabinet space.  All in all, I would never consider this a necessity, but it is a nice little extra to add to your kitchen, especially because it is normally sold at such a reasonable price. Would make a nice housewarming gift if you threw in a couple dip mixes, as well.

Was this actually supposed to work?

I have never really owned a slow cooker before. My mom and my grandmother both have one, but I had never really thought about actually getting up and getting one until this year. I am still not sure I know how to use it properly, since no matter what I do I seem to burn everything I have ever tried to make unless I am at nome the whole time it is cooking, which compleatly defeats the purpose of getting the darn thing since I wanted to be able to have dinner ready when I got home from work in the evening. Instead I have either a mushy lump of what could have been stew or nicely crispy chicken thighs. I always follow the directions, so I dodn't know what I could possibly be doing wrong. Maybe there is a special trick to it, since every other person who reviewed it online seems to think it is the best thing since sliced bread. So if anyone wants it, I would be more than happy to sell it to you...
