Liked it, but...
I was really excited to find a practically brand new Mamma's Milk Baby Sling at a huge consignment sale for a fraction of the original price. It was very pretty... two-sided, one with black silk the other, black and white toile. It was also very simple. No confusing straps, or loose ends to deal with. I must also say that it was very high-quality, very durable and well-made. I never felt like my baby was going to fall out of the bottom (if you've ever felt some of the other brands' slings, you may know what I'm talking about!) Once I got the sling home I went online to the Mamma's Milk website to figure out how to use it. Apparently, (and this is not their fault since I got it from the consignment sale) I had an older version. It appeared all of their newer slings were adjustable. Mine was not. After spending quite a long time looking at the website (and with help from my husband), I managed to get the sling on correctly. The first few times getting my baby in and out were a little difficult (mainly because it was new to both of us) but once in the sling, my baby loved it. Most of the time my baby went right to sleep. I was able to move around with my hands free and people were not as inclined to try to touch my child (which thrilled me!) My baby enjoyed being close to me and being all snuggly in the sling. And both of us enjoyed being able to easily look at one another. My problems with the sling were that, it wasn't adjustable (although this made it easier in some respects, it also made it very 'one size fits all' which unfortunately doesn't work with a growing baby), no matter how I positioned the baby, part of the sling always wanted to cover part of baby's face (I was concerned about smothering) and even though the website said it could be configured in different ways, I could never get my baby to fit any way but diagonally across my chest (which meant I couldn't use it for more than the first few months after birth.) Overall, I loved the quality of this sling, but didn't feel that it met all of needs. Perhaps I would have been happier with one of their other slings.
