This is a great find for my household. We have Over The Air channels, and also the most basic cable TV service with like 10 channels. The DVR works great for when we watch live TV, so that we can pause and resume again. Also works great to setup for timer recordings when we're not home or need to get to bed early. The unit has been a great piece of entertainment. The video quality is great when set at the 1080p setting. You can get a lot of recording onto this 500gb hard disk. I didn't know what to expect when I bought this from the store that starts with a "W", but am so glad I took the gamble and got this. The user interface didn't take long to learn. I truly had it unboxed, hooked up, and recording within 20 minutes. Great asset for value minded folks that don't want to pay for ridiculous cable fees, but still enjoy watching TV. This DVR is truly worth getting if you're in need of recording capabilities. We didn't own a VCR any longer, so to search for this DVR online was a great find for me. Hope this helps you out, enjoy.
