Fantastic!!

We love our Triumph so much!! It is hands down the best all around umbrella stroller I have ever used (and I have used A LOT). It is super lightweight and so easy to handle that we got one for my mother to keep at her house. It is so much easier for her to handle than our full size. The Triumph handles beautifully too!! I have taken it from the cobblestones of downtown Boston to the mall and to the gravel paths of Maine. My daughter seems very comfortable in her stroller and she loves the color... as well as the fact that it is so lightweight and easy to handle that she can "help" push it when she isn't riding in it. The Triumph is understated and very nice looking... the canopy is huge for an umbrella and the basket is one of the best I have seen on an umbrella. It is definitely not huge (but what umbrella stroller does have a huge basket?) but it is much bigger than a lot of them as well as being much easier to access. It is also wonderful for travel... on our last trip it carried a lot of our luggage (much heavier than my daughter) through the airport and then folded up in a second when we were boarding. This stroller is great all around and has lasted us through two kiddos and is still going strong!

worth the investment

9 years ago I purchased the Maclaren Triumph , my daughter used it up until age 5, I'm currently using the exact same stroller for my son who's now 14 months, It will probably be passed on to one of my friends when I'm done with it in 4 years. This stroller is so strong and can handle a lot of mileage. I think the first step in appreciating this stroller is understanding what an Umbrella stroller really is and not having expectations or comparing it to other travel systems. Umbrella strollers fold easily (like an umbrella, duh) , are lightweight and easy to carry. That being said, this stroller surpasses most brands on the market. It's titanium structure is tough and sturdy. I love the way it can pivot 360 degrees and can easily be controlled with one arm. Locking , unlocking and brake functions are all done by foot. Folds easily and stays locked. Small baskets underneath for a few items, If you want to put tons of stuff get a bigger stroller or shopping cart. 2 seat positions, so kids can recline when sleeping. 5 point adjustable harness, no flopping over by the waist kids. Great sun shade canopy and leak-proof rain cover. I use my stroller everyday and because we live in NYC I used mass transit a lot, this stroller folds easily, quickly and compactly for the bus and the subway and maneuvers easily on crowded city street. I can get into department stores or tiny cafes because it's not big and wide or bulky . I especially love it for airport travel, It's survived many flights. On extra feature that I love about the Maclaren brand is that they have service centers where you can get the stroller repaired if needed, check their website for more info. I have owned mine for quite a while and have never had the need for repairs . This is my ultimate recommendation for anyone needing an Umbrella stroller. Durability Stroller currently surviving 2 kids over a 9 year span.

Disturbed by lack of sturdiness & co. standing behind product

I purchased this stroller from Albee baby Three days after the 30 day return policy the stitching ripped between the seat and side. Upon calling Albee, they refused to exchange due to 1) over 30 days and 2) it had been used. Well of course it had! They advised I had to speak with maclaren which I did. They agreed as an act of goodwill (really? Goodwill? Their product should perform for more than 30 days) they would ship me a new fabric cover. After following up with them as I heard no timely reply (a week had passed), I'm told they have no add'l seat covers- they will keep me informed! Hopefully they will stand behind their product and do the right thing within 30 days. Something to be said for purchasing "live" at a store with a reasonable return policy. Note to self!

Love My Maclaren Triumph - It's Gone Through 2 Kids!

5

I had a cheapy umbrella stroller that I used for my oldest but it just couldn't hold up to my wiggly toddler.  Upon the advice of my Sister-in-law I bought the Mclaren Triumph Stroller.  It was a bit pricey for a basic umbrella stroller.  I have to say it was the best baby investment I have made.  It can still hold my almost 5 year old and nicely holds my 18 month old.  It folds up fast and quick. It is super sturdy and handles well in stores and outside in non-ideal terrain.  It can hold a ton of heavy stuff.  I tend to use the suncover to carry things at the store or when going somewhere.  The handles are ergonomically easy on your hands.  My 6'5" husband doesn't have a problem pushing the stroller around and neither do I (5'6").  That is a plus because previous strollers my husband had a problem pushing for long periods at a time.  The kids seem comfortable in it and the 5 point harness keeps them in the stroller nice and secure.  I would recommend this to anyone!!!

Maclaren Triumph was perfect for our needs

5

I purchased the Maclaren Triumph specifically for our trip to Disney World.  Our son had just turned three and I knew we needed a stoller to make it through the parks.  I had a Chico one that we had been using since birth, but it was plenty worn and a bit bulkier than I wanted to cart half way across the USA!  I looked online first and the Maclaren caught my eye because of it's high weight limit and that it was lightweight.  I didn't want to buy a stoller that I could only use a short while or a cheap umbrella stroller because I always felt like I had to hunch over to push it.  The stoller was easy to use, once we got the hang of opening and closing it fast to get on the buses to and from the parks!  We were pros by the end of the trip.  We had no problems with the stoller and there was a decent amount of room for my son to be able to fall asleep in the stroller (he is tall for three 92nd %tile).  I bought this in a store because I needed it in two day, plus I needed to make sure there was enough room for my son to comfortably sit.  We tried just about every lightweight stroller in the store and this one was the one he had the most room legthwise in.  The stroller could have been a bit wider (my son is not chunky either) I mean, there was enough room, but more is always nice=)  My husband is 6 '4" and I am 5'8" and we could both push it without feeling hunched over.  It was also lightweight so we were able to carry it on and off buses at Disney without too much trouble.   It would have been nice to have a cupholder on it though...

Maclaren is worth every penny!

We love this Maclaren stroller. It is very pricey, but thankfully we received it as a gift. Halleluiah! After using this and having it grow with our family I can say that it is awesome. It folds up super compactly. It is easy to push, it appears comfortable for my child. Now for the cons. The basket is very small and difficult to get anything in. I liked to take this grocery shopping, but I can only use it when I'm buying a few items because it is so so so small and difficult to deal with. Another con is that the sunshade isn't too awesome. It only covers a small area, and isn't able to bring it forward in front of the child--what if the sun is blaring in their face? I also am not a big fan of the harness. I like that it is a 5-point harness, but the straps can't be made very small. My child at 2 years old was still swimmingin the straps.....and we couldn't figure out how to make them smaller. It was the smallest possible--kindof weird. All in all, super easy to push and awesome. I'd buy this again! Safety I have trouble adjusting the straps (making them larger/smaller). I wish it was a little easier to adjust.

So light and easy to fold and unfold.

I had a much more expensive stroller, but use this one instead.  It is so light and easy to use.  I can fold and unfold it with one hand.  It can maneuver between even the smallest aisles in the stores.  It is also a great stroller for a taller person.  My husband, who is over 6 ft tall, can push it easily without being hunched over.  I've never had a problem with the fact that it doesn't fully recline.  My son has fallen asleep in it no problem since he was about 5 months old.

I have enjoyed this stroller

I have had the same MaClaren Triumph for over 4 yrs and am now using it for my second child. I have really enjoyed this stroller. I went from a huge travel system to this light weight and easy to manuever stroller. Opening and closing the stroller is a bit complicated when you are first starting to use the stroller, but once you get used to it it takes only a couple of seconds to open or close. The stroller is durable as I have been using it for over four years. One other downside is the small basket, but it still works great for everyday trips. It is a little pricey to be practically an umbrella stroller, but it also has outlasted the cheaper umbrella strollers that I have purchased. We are happy with this stoller.

Maclaren Triumph - good all around stroller.

4

I bought a Maclaren Triumph (2007 model) for my then - 8 month old.  We had been using a Peg Pliko up til then, but it was really bulky, and he didn't like the feeling of being surrounded.  The Maclaren is really light, fold up small, is easy to open and close.  It reclines, so if he falls asleep in it, I can tip him back a bit, and keep walking.  The steering is great, and the handles adjust up, so it's easy to push.  It's smaller, so you're not pushing something 10ft in front of you and hitting people :) It is very lightweight, so if he's not it, I can't carry anything on the back of it without it tipping over.  It's not great for anything off-road, but if you know that and plan ahead (ie bring a stroller that is good for that), then it's no big deal.  It also doesn't do well in the snow or slush.  I really like that it has a higher weight limit than the average umbrella stroller.  Most of the cheaper umbrellas only hold kids up to 25-30 pounds.  This will hold him up to 50 pounds.  For those of us with big toddlers, this matters.  I wouldn't pay full price for this, but if you can find it on sale, it's worth the extra money.

Maclaren Strollers Pricey but Great!

5

We have a Maclaren Triumph stroller that we bought for our family trip to Disney World. I have to say, it was a pretty great stroller. It rolls well, turns well, and has handles that are just the right height. It was comfortable for my daugther who fell asleep in it on occasion. The basket underneath was great for storing things and the stroller folded up quickly and easily when we needed it. These strollers are quite durable as well. We actually bought ours at a consignment shop and washed the pieces on the stain cycle of the washer. The stroller cleaned well and help up to washing. As others have said, the sunshades are pretty small and the stroller does not recline a great deal. And, finally, there's the price factor. Maclaren strollers are most definitely an investment. They are pricey., but you are paying for quality. There are ways of getting good deals on these strollers, however. Maclaren often discontinues patterns, so you can find discounted prices on lines that are being discontinued. Additionally, consignment stores and sales are great places to find used strollers.
