NO SERVICE to put it mildly

If I could give this company no stars I would. OUTRAGEOUS service! My son purchased his first home in December 2017. The storm on March 2nd caused major damage to his house. He has had no walls, no floors and no ceilings in 3 of his 6 rooms and has had his furniture in storage for 1 week short of 6 months and still does not even have a quote from Mapfre. They keep saying they are reviewing the adjuster's paperwork, or their adjuster hasn't submitted the paperwork yet. It is unbelievable! My insurance is up for renewal and trust me- I will be going with another insurance company along with, I am sure many of my family and friends and anyone else on social media that knows what has been going on.

MAPFRE Insurance, CARES NOT!

Mapfre Insurance has taken over Commerce and several other really good regional companies and is piggybacking on their good names, running them into the ground. I have been fighting to get my claim paid in full for four years on my homeowners' insurance when Commerce was taken over. This is a Spanish conglomerate which has come into our country and is not paying more than 50% on claims. I cannot afford this, due to a great amount of water damage from a broken plumbing part...I lost my kitchen, the cabinets, etc., my dining room suffered a great deal of damage, three other rooms had partial damage and I had to live out of my house for three months, one of which was when the adjuster put me on hold to get a forensic engineer's report. That caused the mold to really multiply and it has been a nightmare, causing me great hardship and now affecting my health. I need to get this paid somehow and this company needs to be held accountable. The good ratings on this website must be fake. I don't know of anyone who ever has not had a problem getting paid their claim in a timely manner by this company.

Disgusting

Had a horrible conversation with Paula from claims. She was explaining the policy/law to me, which is understandably not her fault, but whenever I tried to express a concern or even ask a question, she went into broken record mode, continued to cut me off and ultimately did not help one bit. Naturally, I became upset but she still continued to cut me off until I had to hang up. If these are the types of people who are at the forefront of Commerce insurance/Mapfre, I would not recommend trusting this company.

worst company I ever dealt with!

Had horrible experience with MAPFRE, planning to take both business and personal policies out as well as making sure that no-one will stay with them in our family. We had vandalism to our car, it took their unprofessional and rude agent Bryan White 3 month for investigation in order to decline it. We ended up hiring an attorney, planning to take them to court and final complaints with insurance commissioner. My husband owns few businesses and it is scary to think that this company had our business for so long and we were under assumption that we were protected for the money that we are paying, when this company is being represented by such unprofessional scammers! They will go out of their way to find any excuse just to not pay for the claim!

Commerce sets the standards in service

After our house fire in September 2014, our lives changed, confused harassing bendito pay bills, seems no one cared about our personal issues. Only one company stood out from the rest. Not cable, phone, mortgage, utilities, auto loan, it was our auto insurance. They displayed true concern for our hardships and fears, they went above and beyond the standards of today's customer service practices. Commerce helped us with our claims, questions, concerns, they were there every step of he way, not once did the company ever display frustration, we were not a number to them, we were treated as family. They should have theme of 'Care, Is Commerce'. They answer your phone calls, emails, questions, help with confusion to put your mind at ease. They set the standards in customer relations and outstanding business practices. I am forever grateful to all the staff for there compassion and understanding during my family's hardes times. No other company has ever treated us as people and not a number or a dollar sign. Thank you everyone in the commerce family, you truly define and lead the way in standards. Keep up the great work! They are the leaders in 'Customer Service'

We had a home fire back in September 2014, creating stress and uncertainty for my family. Of course, with such stresses, comes financial burden and non stop harassing calls from vendors and others alike. From cable, phone, mortgage, utilities and more..they don't care about you and or your family's tragic issues, bottom line is the $$. All but one company was understanding, compassionate, and the willingness to go above and beyond for there customers. This company is 'Commerce-Mapfre' insurance. To my amazement, they answer phones when you call, they respond in a swiftly to emails and or phone calls, they don't treat me as number, I know several professional staff members by name, and yet! They never get bothered from constant questions or concerns, they helped me to resolve insurance related issues during our hard times after the fire, they were compassionate to our needs, above all!! They displayed true kindness for my family. What company, takes the time to do this! What company listens, goes out of there way to work with you! I would like to nominate them as the best consumer service company in the state of MA. There theme should be 'Care is Commerce'. Putting consumers first! I was just amazed at there efficiency. They set the standards in relations, while still conducting themselves professionally. Truly, unheard of theae days, very refreshing to know, humanity does exist. We need more businesses like commerce. I would pay double for there services, just to keep them as my insurance company. Cheaper rates do not mean, better! Thank you Commerce. Horrible Company That Doesn't Pay Claims

Bought a home built in 1980 or so. The first rain season literally washed the soil on the backyard hill away and took the 20' round pool with it. Called to inquire if they wod cover liner replacement materials and labor if we put in a retaining wall and reinstalled the frame. Denied! Within 2 years of living in the home the garage floor crack (that the previous owner apparently caulked and painted over) separated and the garage itself settled so badly we had to cut down and reinstall both garage doors to even keep it functional ! We tried putting in a claim - denied - must be "normal settling". Within a year the driveway started washing out and garage sinking. Tried to put in a claim - denied again - "must be earth movement". I had never filed a claim in the 25 years of owning my first home - now I have been denied 3 times at the second home. Needless to say - I switched companies as soon as I was able - Commerce MA is a rip off and I can not believe BBB gives them an A+ rating when so many people can confirm that they never pay for any claim - just take your premiums then find any reason to deny you!!

My car is insured through Commerce Insurance out of Massachusetts . I do have my homeowners through another company - I suppose I could combine my coverage under one insurance company and save 10% but it seems like a hassle to start over . Comemrce Insurance has proved to provide decent coverage and good customer service . I had never had an accident in almost 40 years of driving until a guy with a truck rolls into me at a yield sign in 5:00 o'clock traffic. There was very little damage to either vehicle and he did not want me to report it . I was hesitant because I thought he might claim whiplash or try to blame me so I called the police . At the site of the accident he admitted to the officer that it was all his fault , it was his son'struck and he was not used to it and he was rushing to pay a bill before the utility company closed . The claim process went very smooth with Commerce . I brought my car to the adjuster 's office , the claim was around $900 and I was not charged a deductible . They were very helpful and assured me that I would not be surcharged as it was not my fault and I was not penalized in any way. Insurance in MA is tricky as they can raise your rates for some claims . There are other companies out there but Commerce was very helpful and paid the claim within 24 hrs so I stuck with the tried and true .

Totally Unreliable

Commerce Insurance should be ashamed of themselves claiming to pay promptly and fairly on their claims. That is fine as long as you do not have one, other wise they only cover if and what they want to. Leaving you having to come up with most of the money to replace your loses which in my case was more than five times what was alloted by Commerce. I have a handi capped son and unfortunately his room was the heating pipes burst in. It took 2 months before I could even start the process of fixing this. {Autistic people do not handle changes or disruptions well at all} during which time I had to find the cheapest way to repair this as the insurance companies agent found that they could deduct for everything and devalued everything to the max. I am not satisfied in the least with this claim and I feel like I have been robbed by paying for homeowners insurance that doesn"t even pay its claims correctly.

Back out of paying for claims when it's their responsibility and shamelessly collect premium without any problems, they might be "cheap" but they are the WORST in auto claims! STAY AWAY unless you wanna pay out of pocket for claims!
