I love make up and am always on the lookout for new products and brands. I love MAC lipsticks, glosses, and eyeshadows and decided to try the MAC foundation. The price is comparable to other mid end brands. It is easy to find the right shade of MAC foundation, especially since they cater to specific undertones. I would recommend getting matched in store. Upon use, I found the foundation to be bit liquidly for me and I did not particularly like how you had to pour it out of the bottle. This makes it easy to pour too much/too little product. I did find the glass bottle with black writing attractive, just not particularly functional. Upon putting this product on, I felt that it provided good coverage. Though it is easy to cake on too much, so I would make sure to use a light hand. I waited several hours and checked this foundation again (I always do this upon trying a new foundation). After only a few hours, this foundation had began to make my face appear oily and it caked up in spots. I tried to give this foundation several tries, using different combinations of primers and face powders. However nothing seemed to work and the foundation just didn't hold up well throughout the day. After several days I noticed my face began to uncharacteristically break out. Since nothing else had changed, I knew it was this MAC foundation. Several months later I ran out of my regular foundation and tried this one again only to shortly thereafter break out. I had heard many good things about this foundation but overall just was not impressed. It didn't hold up well, was too greasy, and made me breakout. I do not recommend to anyone with acne prone or oily skin.

This product seems to be very watered down, which makes it not cover well. It also creases badly. The bottle shape also makes it difficult to use the product. The pour hole needs flow control or a pump. The price of this product does not match its quality. I honestly think sales are only high due to the MAC name since the product is not that great. On a more positive note, because the product is watery it is easy to mix the shades together to create a custom shade. I have noticed that my bottles become very dirty and the spout shape does not make it easy to remove foundation residue. A textured top on the bottle or a top that pulls off would also be helpful. The top can be difficult to open during the process of applying makeup. The rounded shaped of the bottles is nice looking, but not very practical. If the shape was flat it would make storage easier. A shelf made only for Mac bottles needs to be created if the bottling will not be changed. Overall, I think the foundation could cover a little better. Maybe if the package was different the price could be lowered and the the price and quality would match.

I've used a few different formulas of MAC foundation and they are all excellent. The shades are great; you can find one to match every skin tone. I love the coverage of MAC foundations as well; most of them give medium to full coverage without looking cake-y. You really get a perfect skin finish. Every time I try a new foundation, I end up disappointed and I return to MAC again. Plus, I never breakout from their foundations, and my skin is very sensitive. These are the only foundations I'll use!

I love this foundation. I am a first time user to Mac. I have used fashion fair over 5 years ago but stuck with Cover girl most of my life. I had to change because when I sweat I lose my makeup. Ive always heard how good their makeup was and I decided to try it. Yes the foundation is thick and I cant use the new brush I bought but it covers my small imperfections,not like cover girl and makes my skin look flawless.I sweat and the makeup never fails on me.I am officially hooked now

I'm normally not a foundation person since I usually prefer the natural look or I'm too lazy to apply heavy makeup in the morning. =p Even when I do put something in the morning, it's usually just tinted mosturizer. Therefore, I cannot comment on whether or not mac studio fix would have given me breakouts if I used it more than 3 times a week. However, what I do know is that Mac foundation provides great coverage. The foundation lasts me a while (although that might just be because I hardly use it except for special occasions.) Either way, it comes in a generous sized bottle that I'm sure would last a while for anyone since you only need a little bit to achieve coverage. Many people have a tendency to overapply mac products which makes them end up looking like a clown, so I would definitely recommend using a tiny bit of product since as with any mac products, the pigmentation is great with this foundation. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who wants good coverage. However, stay away if you have break out prone skin.

I've tried a lot of foundations from Covergirl to Clinque. MAC by far is my favorite. I'm a Latina and do find it hard to find a foundation that matches my skin tone. The foundation would look fine in the store but once I went outside it was a whole different store. When I decided to try MAC foundation the makeup artists actually took me outside so I can see it in daylight. I loved that! I also have acne prone skin and I have been using the foundation everyday for over a year and I have had no issues with breakouts. Its hypoallergenic so it won't clog your pores. I use the foundation brush to put it on and it gives a nice evn coverage. I love that I can add more foundatioon if I need additional coverage because of a blemish. I've recommend MAC foundation to all my friends and they have no looked back. It is by fair the best foundation out there and its a great price. The staff is very knowledgeable as well.

I have always been a fan of Mac eyeshadows, and so the last time I needed to buy foundation I decided to try out the Mac Studio Sculpt (on recommendation of the beautician at the counter).  It looked great when she applied it with one of the Mac brushes, I'm not sure which one now, and so I decided to purchase that as well. At first I was very happy with the results, but as time went on I felt like I wasn't getting another coverage visually, and it was more cakey looking than I would have preferred.  Now I apply it with my hands as I feel like I get a better and more natural finished look, but I'm still not sure if I will purchase this same foundation in the future. It may just be my skin changing characteristics, but I'm not sure.  Also, I feel like the colors aren't very moldable, and the slightest change in skin color or tone makes it so the foundation doesn't match very well anymore. Overall I'd say it's an alright product, but I'm not sure I'd purchase again, especially for the price.

This mac foundation was nice to wear when you need alot of consealing but for every day use? maybe not. Its too thick and kinda made my face look as if i was a doll. I dont like how it doesnt really give you a "natural look" if your going out or maybe taking some family pics where you want your face to look perfect (and stiff) lol then you should try this. This makeup is for proffesionals who have to be in the cameras all day and want to look flawless.But if your looking for everyday foundation maybe you should look elsewhere. I love the mac products but this one is just too thick and since its too thick that it clogs pores and can cause acne. I dont lilke any makeup that causes me to breakout or clogs my pores and the powder mac makeup is perfect. But if you like foundation then maybe you can try this and may work differently for you. Overall this mac foundation is ok but not for everyday wear. Try it you may think differently or may fit you better than it did with me.

I absolutely love MAC foundation. First of all, I am not a fan of makeup. But when I went to get my makeup done for a ball, this foundation was used. I never wanted to use foundation because it seemed as though it were a mask on your face. It looked really heavy. When MAC foundation was applied, it was so light. I didn't feel it at all on my face. I have acne scarring on my face and a thin layer of this foundation just covered it all up. When I looked in the mirror, my skin looked flawless and so natural. My boyfriend loved it. It is very concentrated so when applying, only a little bit is needed. This is great because this bottle will last me a really long time. This foundation has caused me to love makeup more. It makes you feel beautiful and like a model and is very simple to apply. You could go the whole day wearing it and it will still be there at the end of the day. This foundation is the best that I have ever used.

mac foundation is pretty good. its a great cover- up for acne or dark spots, and does it very well. when applied very well have have a great effect, but even then it looks fake, or like i have on foundation which i dont like.. but it actually provokes acne more because its so thick. its un- healthy for your skin it breaks me out if i dont put my dermatologist prescription medication on underneath it. its horrible when your having dry skin days, it shows up peeling skin and makes a dry face look like clay with cracks. The most horrible thing about mac is the fact that it always messed up my clothes, its like it doesnt dry AT ALL. i have to walk around and prevent people from hugging me so my foundation doesnt leave a great big brown streak on their clothes. i've spoken to a dermatologist who told me that it clogs your pores, and its so waxy and thick that it causes skin irritation if it isnt removed properly, which is not water and sope, but more like 10 make up removal wipes, and then soap and water.
