Lypsyl LypRadiance Honey Rose

4

I'm a Girl Scout Troop leader and last weekend we took our girls camping. Late April, we thought maybe we'd encounter storms, but wasn't afraid of much else. Well, leave it to Mother Nature to throw a curve ball into things: 32 degree nights, 70+degree full sunshine days, & high winds. While we had fun, we froze at night, and got sunburned & windburned during the day. It seemed my lips took the brunt of the damage. Surely a little petroleum jelly would fix the damage? Uh no, guess there's a first time for everything. I even tried an antibiotic cream they hurt so bad. Started digging through my stash of unopened products (things I bought with the intention of using, but just never got around too). Well, came across Lypsyl LypRadiance Honey Rose. First impression, it just glided on - silky soft. I loved the smell. I can't put my finger on exactly what the smell is associated with, but somehow reminds me of some kind of candy. I applied it repeatedly the first day and on the second, my lips were back to normal. I'll definitely be stocking up the next time this goes on sale....And next time, it will be in my pack so I don't go through the agony again. ( I hate the wax of other lip products, feels gross)

LypSyl is the best lip balm ever!

I think I've tried them all. I got a tube of LypSyl HoneyBerry a few months ago in my Christmas stocking. I have used no other type or brand since. I live in a very dry climate summer and winter so need to treat chapped lips daily. I apply LypSyl several times a day and again before I go to sleep. It's so smooth and creamy and doesn't feel at all waxy, on my lips. It just feels so good, so I know Im adding moisture instead of just "covering" up the dryness. I also love the oval shape of the tube. It fits nicely in my pocket at work and just works so well. The little honey bee slideron the side to advance the balm to the top, is a cute feature too. I visited the company's website and am impressed with this quality made Swedish product. It's more commonly available in stores around here now, so I'll be able to keep several on hand. I'm betting the original flavor is just as good and will try that too.

I love this stuff

This lip moistuerizer is wonderful.  I love this stuff.  I probably have eight tubes of it floating around my house, purse, briefcase and office.  It's the only lip moisturizer I will use.  It works really well at keeping my lips from getting chapped, it goes on smooth, keeps my lips moist for a significant amount of time, and it smells nice.  I also like to put it on under my lipstick or my lip gloss, it just seems to make them look better.  I don't like a lot of color on my lips, so that adding this helps with that.  I first tried Lypsyl brand products when I lived in Norway, and my sister in law is totally addicted to their stuff, she has a family friend send it over to her on a regular basis.  So I was so excited when I found this product in my local supermarket!  It's different from what I found in Norway, but I like it just as well.  My only complaint about this stuff is that it is hard to find.  Only one store in my area carries it.  Fortunately it's the place I do my normal grocery shopping!

This is the best lip balm ever!

I've been using **LypSyl LypMoisturizer **ever since I received a sample in a bzzkit several years ago when it was first introduced to the North American market. I used to be a faithful ChapStick user, but ever since I tried LypSyl, I've been converted! The formula is creamy and goes on smooth, and it lasts a long time on your lips. I like the Honey Berry better than the original formula because the original formula has a little menthol in it and I don't like minty lip balms. It's kind of expensive compared to other lip balms, but it's so worth it, and it goes on sale often enough to stock up and not run out. I use it every night before I go to bed to keep my lips from getting chapped, and I can still tell it's working the next morning. I'm addicted to it, and so are several of my friends. If you're looking for a good creamy lip balm that stays on your lips to provide long-lasting protection without a lot of frills and cherry flavoring, try LypSyl.

This Swede liked her Lyps Beeswaxed the first few months!

****** ***UPDATE -- JULY 2010*** As a sufferer of *chelitis*, I've written more than my share of lip protectant reviews.  Some of them are truly five-star products.  **LypSyl LypMoisturizer with Pure Swedish Beeswax**, over a period of months, has lost a star from me since my lips have become sensitive to its formula. # # # # # ***BELOW:  As originally written.  *****LypSyl** still may be just right for you! I bought my **LypSyl **stick in the *Honeyberry* sunscreen formula, paying more than I wanted to because my lips were parched and I had a dental cleaning appointment (ouch!) just days away.  **LypSyl** took its ultimate test when I sat down in the dental technician's chair.  Everytime I had a chance to rinse my mouth, I reapplied gentle **LypSyl**. *Mirabile dictu!*  I got out of the dentist's without my lower lip cracking or my corners splitting.  Well, there's a lesson in all this no matter *which* lip product I use.  That lesson is *frequent application* to prevent additional chapping and to allow my lips to calm down. **LypSyl** comes in five formulas and is one of 36 personal care brands purchased by the family-held **Lornamead, Inc.** established in 1978.*****  Like the* Yardley London* brand also owned by **Lornamead**, **LypSyl** has a venerable history dating back to (ja!) Sweden.  It originated there in 1905. **Lornamead** has reformulated the **LypSyl**s used in America.  The **Honeyberry** formula has an *SPF 15*.  Active ingredients are: *Octyl Methoxycinnimate (5%, Sunscreen), Octocrylene (2.0%, Sunscreen) and Oxybenzone (3.5% Sunscreen).  *However **Lornamead** processes it, the **LypSyl** beeswax smooths on and moisturizes without making my lips feel coated or -- worse -- incased.** **LypSyl Honeyberry **has the lightest of fragrances.  It comes in a unique, oblong case with a lovely smoothing applicator.  A little honeybee pushes the **LypSyl** stick up, as needed, via a slot in the side of the case.  The **LypSyl** name is *derived* from Swedish which makes me think of the bogus but authentic-sounding *Haagen Dazs* ice-cream moniker. As *AnnaBanana* frequently says, "This one's a real winner!"  I found mine at *Walgreen's.*                                                                # # # # #

Fun container, feels great on lips.

I bought this the other day for my daughter who constantly has chapped lips but most chapsticks cause her lips to sting.I love the fact that it has ingredients that I approve of (mostly, not a big fan of petroleum though). The tube is just a fun shape, my daughter and I both love the bee on the side that makes the chapstick go up and down, this works particularly well for her because she is only five so the other chapsticks that you have to twist up can be difficult sometimes. The chapstick itself is great , it has a nice scent, it goes on really smooth and a little bit definitely goes a long way. It does tingle a bit on your lips but my daughter didn't complain at all about it hurting her poor chapped lips. I also thought the price was more than reasonable for the amount you get. You really get a good sized product. I definitely would recommend this to a friend and definitely would buy it again. I'm not sure if they sell it anywhere with tint to it but that would be awesome.

Natural product that works well

4

I tried this product recently beause I had a coupon at Walgreen that made the product free.  I like that the product is all natural and made from organic materials and was excited to give it a shot.  The lip product is very easy to apply and the container is a little bigger than the typical chapstick size.  I like the larger size because I feel like it is easier to apply the lip product to my entire mouth in one swipe.  Lysyl has a smooth textrue and a faint smell that is not overpowering and would not stop me from using the product.  The lypsyl does a good job of moisturizing lips and seemed to last for a long amount of time.  The amount of lip product in the stick was also quite generous and I think one tube will last me quite a while.  You don't twist the bottom of the package to advance the lip product like on most chapsticks.  Instead the lipsyl had a way to manually advance and retreat as much product as you like at one time.  I would use this product again.
