This was my go-to mascara until they discontinued it. The L'OReal Volume Shocking Mascara was a great product. What I loved about it was the eyelash prepping side. You don't realize how much of a different it makes until you use it! It helps to show you where your lashes end and allows for maximum volume and length. Mascara is so much easier to use with this! I loved this. It made my eyelashes look great. It's a shame it's discontinued.

in have tried many different types of mascaras. this is the one i always end up going back to. it makes ur eyelashes so long and thick. i have green eyes and it makes my eyes really pop and stand out. i absolutely love this mascara!

I love this mascara. This mascara does have two steps. Although some may think that it may take an extra minute or two to apply, put your lipstick or blush on while the first step dries! For my thin, sparse, eyelashes, this works really, really well. It plumps my eyelashes really well because of the gray first coat. It also allows you to get every single eyelash the blackest of black because of the small, rubber wand in the black side of the mascara. It stays on really well and I have never had any issues with it flaking into my eyes or even irritating my eyes. I am thankful for that!  I have tried many, many mascaras and this one is by far my favorite. Whenever it is on sale, I will purchase several for my stockpiles. I never want to run out of this wonderful mascara.  Although it is getting harder and harder to find, it is worth the extra time and effort it takes to find this mascara.

I honestly don't know why I try using the two-step mascaras because I think they simply don't work, add an extra step and just clumps the lashes so much faster. The two-step mascara doesn't lenght, seperate or volumize. The product itself is shaped very oddly and and the handle is hard to hold especially when you're trying to apply it on. The extra mascara step simply clumps my lashes even more, making them look like spider legs. It's very hard to correct your lashes after you've simply got them looking spidery and clumped. The structure and style of the brushes don't do much and overall the mascara formula works just like any other mascara, only this one you're putting on twice as much than you would normally. I usually love loreal's mascaras, but I think that if you are not a pro at using two step mascaras, then I would stick to the normal ones because you really have to be careful about how much you put on your lashes and how you apply it. The mascara does weigh down my curls and after a few coats, my lashes are back to being straight. I would not recommend this product.

I bought this and liked it, it's easy to use, it's easy to come off.  But it doesn't do wonders for your eyelashes unless it's waterproof.   This mascara runs a little too wet.  Sinse it's so wet it can make lashes come together and not look nice and fanned out.  I don't recommend it.

I have always used a variety of different name brand cosmetics. I still use different brands for all areas of my face. I have discovered that Loreal mascaras are the best and live up to their standards. I have tried at least 3 different Loreal mascaras and have found this one to be the best for lengthening my eye lashes. I have shorter lashes but quite a few lashes. I need a lengthening mascara and this one works wonders. I love the primer that goes on before the mascara. It makes my lashes thicker and also longer at the same time. I let that set on my lashes only for a moment and then add the mascara before the primer dries. When I add the mascara to my lashes, it makes my lashes look extra long and amazing! I love how great this mascara makes my lashes look and I like the price of this when I can get it on sale. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants a great lengthening mascara.

I first used this product when there was a makeover event at my work.  All of the HIP products were being promoted and so I thought, this might be fun to try before I buy it.  I was extremely impressed.  I have always liked the Loreal product line, but this mascara along with the rest of the HIP items really were a step up.  I think it was the primer that made the mascara really stand out.  I noticed that at the end of my makeover, people kept doing double takes to look at me before telling me how beautiful I looked.  VERY happy with this product! I thought this product not only looked cool, but it really worked the way it was described.  First, you use the white primer and then follow with the color of your choosing.  I used the blackest black and the results were very favorable.  My lashes looked thicker and more dramatic.  My only issue was that after a long time of wearing, it got a little flaky.  That happens with most mascaras though.

This is the best mascara I have ever used,and believe me,I have tried about everyone out there. It has a comb instead of a wand brush. It lengthens and seperates your lashes while making them lush. I always use black and my lashes always look great. It is getting hard to find,though. I sure hope Loreal doesn't discontinue it.

There are times that I really want a volumized eyelashes and I use the Loreal Volume Shocking Mascara. It definitely provides full and thick lashes. I like how the base white coat works adding so much volume in my lashes. I have heard that some people may have experience clumping of this mascara. One good way that my friend showed me to avoid clumping is to re-curl your lashes and brush off the remaining mascara with an eye lash tool. I like that I can always add volume to my lashes as long as I put another coat of white base alternately with the black coat.  This one gives me a natural look of volumized eyelashes. I also like the design of the brush applicator. It is curved unlike other brush applicators which are normally straight. This makes it easier to apply because it conforms to the natural shape of how our lashes grow. That is very unique to this brush applicator and I like that attribute. It is also a long-lasting one and I do not have to reapply my mascara. It does not smudge so I would think it is fairly water resistant. One coat is good enough for day wear and maybe two to three coats for a night out. Some people ahve said that it is a bit hard to remove, but I would use a very good maekup remover. I would buy it again if I want volumized lashes!

L'Oreal Volume Shocking Mascara was true to its name.  I was completely shocked when I put on the mascara!  I had eyelashes like I never had before!  I was skeptical at first, because I had to complete two different tasks when I was applying the mascara.  The first step was to place a primer-like application onto my lashes.  It was kind of weird because it looked sparklish, and I wasn't sure what the final result was going to look like.  However, when I completed the second step using the mascara comb onto my lashes, I was totally surprised.  My eyelashes stood out like they had never done before.  My husband told me I looked beautiful and wanted to know what I had done differently.  (I will never tell!  It is going to be just our secret!)  This truly is a great product, and I am so glad I tried it!  You should try it too.  You will not be disappointed!
