My sister gave me a Laura Ashley queen-sized featherbed. I sleep in a twin-sized space on a mat (great for my back) so I doubled it up. Wow! If you like a firm surface for sleeping but would like a little extra softness and cushion, I highly recommend this product. You just toss it on top of your regular mattress or other sleeping surface and put your sheets on over it. You can use it on top of your sheets if you like, but it can only be spot-cleaned or dry cleaned, which sort of takes away from the whole natural element, as it's constructed of a cotton quilt cover filled with down. So yuck to dry cleaning. I put this on my mat and it made a huge difference in how well I slept, really takes the pressure off of hips, knees and shoulders while still affording all the support you need from a firmer sleeping surface. The only "down" side, excuse the pun, is that the feathers do shift nightly. I find myself having to replump my bed every day, the same as you would a down pillow. It's well worth the little extra effort for the quality of sweet, soft sleep.
