This heater is so easy to use and warms our very large master bath and bedroom with ease. We have a 2,100 square foot home and the gas fireplace that we have heats the entire house with the exception of our bedroom and bath. Since our room is on the opposite side of the home from the fireplace, the heat simply does not reach our room. We purchase this three or four years ago and only use it during the really cold winter months but it works like a charm. It has the ability to oscillate but we really do not need that function. Performance Excellent. We generally turn the heater on at about 7:00 p.m. and the temperature in our room may be as low as 56 degrees at that time. Within an hour, the temperature is a wonderful 65 degrees which is the temperature we like for sleeping. My husband has even used it to warm our garage in the winter when he is working on our vehicles. Ease of Use Comes with a manual but you can figure it out withour even having to read the instructions. Durability Haven't had a single problem. Design I like the design and it does not take up much space at all. But do not let the size fool you-it can really put out the heat. Safety We haven't had any safety issues.

I love this heater! I use it in my bedroom at night, it's very simple to use and it keeps me warm through the night. Performance It quickly warms a room within minutes. It tells you the temperature of the room when you first turn it on and even if it's a low temperature in the room, it will quickly become warm in minutes. Ease of Use You can set it many different ways and it's very easy to use. You can set it to run continuously for up to 8 hours or set it to run until it gets to a certain temperature. Durability I have had mine for 2 winters now and it is still working just fine. It is very durable, even being knocked over by my kids a few times it still works good as new. Design It is tall so it can reach you while you are on your bed and you don't have to put it on top of something to warm the whole room. It also oscillates so it provides warmth in a wide range. Safety It will turn off if it gets knocked over, or if something covers it. I have tested the safety features on this and it really works.

I purchased 2 of the Lasko 5355 space heaters a year and a half ago and have used them almost every winter day since! We keep one in the bedroom and one in the living room and they are fantastic! The digital display allows you to keep it on high or low, and has many settings including a timer (you can set it to automatically shut off after 1-8 hours), an automatic shut-off if it reaches a certain temperature (for example, if you want it to turn off when the temperature on the heater reads 70 degrees, and start up again when it begins to cool down again). Living in a drafty house was difficult until I purchased these, I now keep one on almost every night during sleep, as well as keeping one on during the time I spend in the living room watching television or reading. It's a fantastic investment, and didn't have much of an impact on our electricity bill either. One downside is the fact that the filter has to be cleaned out frequently, but again, keeping it clean contributes to a lower electric bill.

Maybe it just can't keep up with a Midwest winter, but the Lasko Ceramic Element Tower Space Heater I purchased only 2 years ago is ready for the recycler. The features that I liked about the Lasko were the tower design (which takes up less space and I thought would heat a room better) it's oscillating, (again, I thought that would help heat the room quicker) it's digital with a remote control and has a display to show the current room temperature. What I discovered with my particular heater is the oscillating tower did little to improve the speed of heating a space; the fan is not really powerful enough to spread the heat much past the unit itself. So I didn't need the remote, because I had  to practically sit on top of the machine to get warm! After I lost the remote, I found I could not control the unit really without it, as the buttons on the machine itself did not work properly. I can't use the oscillating feature at all anymore, as it makes a horrible noise when I do. Ofcourse I no longer have the receipt, so even though it came with a decent warranty, I won't be returning it. I'll just purchase something a little more durable before the snow flies!

When our furnace was not running, we depended on one of these heaters to keep us warm. I liked that it was on a pedastal rather than sitting on the floor. It was not to loud and it worked quite well. It even came with a remote and rotated from side to side. The only drawback was it took awhile to heat up the room.
