Great Shampoo

4

Great smell, last ages. Im at the intital stages of neglect dreadlocks and this bar is great, my hair is around 8" long very curly and thick. The only downside it the debris it leaves behind but this is easily overcome by putting the bar into tights/stocking plus it last even longer then :). It lathers up loads and gets right down to the scalp. I do suffer from dandruff and this bar has made a difference in the amount I get. Not completely ressolved the issue but I don't think any shampoo can do that.

Nice Stuff

5

This stuff is so yummy to use! On top of having a really nice scent, this shampoo gets hair nice and clean. There is no artificial chemical smell, although the scent is strong. I recommend this product for fine hair, as it does a thorough job getting heavy, excess grease out. Hair isn't over moisturized and greasy limp after use. I like to use a lot and love the nice lather, and the fact that I can choose to use more and lather more. Having a shampoo in bar form is a great space saver, but it must be aired out to dry to preserve the product. Effectiveness Great lather to get hair nice and clean. No icky residue like some products leave. I like the super clean effect, but after a while, I needed to put moisture back in my hair. I recommend having a good conditioner on hand. Scent I find the scent beautiful, but it is quite strong. It doesn't smell like it's full of chemicals, but does smell potent. Nice to wake up to.

Squeak goes my hair

I won't lie, there's definitely a unique scent from this solid shampoo bar. It's a bit medicinal, really. Whatever way the rosemary and peppermint and chamomile work together on the olfactory senses, it does leave one feeling as though having just been doused with sheep dip or some sort of Victorian herbal remedy. Medicinal is really the only way I can describe the smell, which is not subtle. Absolutely not for anyone with a strong sense of smell and an aversion to rosemary! But it works. It's great for sorting a sore, dry scalp. I wouldn't use it every time I wash my hair though, because I don't have oily hair. And that's where this really finds its niche, apparently. It's far too drying to use any more than about once a month on my hair, unless I've been bold and let it go far too long between washes and it's greasy. Yup, environmentally friendly and all that jazz, but I don't think I'll be buying it again once this bar runs out (in about 4 months! They're definitely good value for money.) Scent I tend to prefer not smelling like a lamb shoulder, ready for the Sunday roast. Or worse, like I've been doused in sheep dip.

Helps Dandruff with a Gentle Smell

I love Lush and their line of bar shampoos. The bars are great for traveling, especially when using air transportation. You wet the shampoo bar, then swipe it over your hair once or twice, and that is all you need to wash your entire head. One bar of this soap usually lasts me for at least four months. I've used this with both long and short hair, and it is great for both! This was the second bar shampoo that i used from Lush, and I was looking for something to help my dandruff. This was a great alternative to the Soak and Float (their other dandruff shampoo). The shampoo helped to get rid of my dandruff, with out the over powering smell that S&F had. It helped to get rid of my dandruff, and also stopped my hair from being overly oily. My hair always felt great and clean after using this shampoo. Effectiveness Helped get rid of my dandruff, while keeping my hair healthy. Scent Nice smell, but not over powering, like some other lush products.

The Stink!

I love to shop in the LUSH store because you can try all sorts of products before you buy them. All I can say is "thank goodness" because if I had purchased this and brought it home to try I would have been incredibly irritated. Yes, LUSH's solid shampoo bars are environmentally friendly and last for ages and are handmade with fresh ingredients and they don't test on animals but this bar is one to pass right by. I've used the LUSH solid shampoo bars before and been quite pleased, but the smell of this is just deadly. Deadly. It smells like incense was crushed and mixed up in the formula. It's so overpowering it makes your eyes water. It's just simply horrendous. Horrendous. Think some overpowering hippie scent. Really, it's that bad. I don't care how effective this may be the stink is just not worth it. Unless you really, really like hippie scents then pass this one right by. Your nose will thank you.

Love the idea, but I prefer other shampoos.

I really wanted to love this product, because the idea of a solid shampoo product appeals to me and the idea of getting more washes out of a smaller, more environmental friendly product is great. Unfortunately, my hair disagrees. While this one wasn't a terrible choice for my hair, it's not something I could deal with on a regular basis. My hair was very dry, frizzy, limp, and just took very terribly to this product. I had to use an embarrassingly large amount of conditioner to make this somewhat okay. And my hair sucked it up like there was no tomorrow. To be honest, I feel bad about throwing the rest of this out, but I'm not sure I see myself using it, either. Additionally, I have some issues with the functionality of these solid shampoo bars. While Lush sells the shampoo tins, actually using them poses some problems. If you want to get the most longevity out of your shampoo puck, it's best to let it air dry, otherwise it gets a sticky, gooey texture. So ... to me, storing it in a tin really isn't practical. The scent of this shampoo bar was pleasant to me. It was very gender neutral, had a bit of herbal, and even a bit of a minty smell. It was a pleasant, soothing, clean scent, so I appreciated that aspect. All in all, Lush shampoos are not for me. I know they work great for some, but my hair was begging me to go back to my normal stuff.

Lush's Squeaky Green Solid Shampoo Bar is very cleansing.

I love Lush's Squeaky Green solid shampoo bar, as I have experienced many benefits from it.  It not only cleans hair well, but it also is environmentally friendly, and good for travelling. I want to start off this review by saying that this shampoo has affected my quality of life in a positive way.  I know that is a sappy thing to say, but it is true.  For the past three years I have suffered from what I believe is psoriasis on my scalp.  I get a build up of itchy, flaky skin that falls off to reveal open sores.  This sounds incredibly gross, which it is, but it is even more painful.  I have tried many different things to help my scalp, but none of them worked.  Ever since I started using this product six months ago, I have not had a single major flare up.  I still have the occasional isolated incident, but that's about it.  This is the product that the Lush employees recommended to me because of the chamomile (calming properties) and tea tree (antibacterial) ingredients. As other reviewers have mentioned, this shampoo is a natural clarifyer for hair.  I can back up that claim.  This shampoo rinses out of my hair very quickly, and I can immediately feel how clean my hair is.  I assume this is due to the nettle added to it.  For people with dry hair, this may not be a good thing.  For me, I produce a lot of oil on my head, which means my hair gets greasy quickly. Lush's squeaky green solid shampoo bar is environmentally friendly because it comes with no packaging, and lasts for a long time.  Like I said, I have been using this product for almost six months, and it is still not finished.  I store it in a metal container, which I wash out and fill up with another solid shampoo bar when I finish one up. Another reason why I love this product is because its great for travelling.  It is small, so it is easy to pack when I cannot afford to bring a lot of stuff with me. There are a few minor downsides, which I will mention, because they could be deal breakers to some potential buyers.  After using this product, I have to leave the metal container I store it in slightly open, so the product can dry out.  If I don't do this, it will become mushy.  Also, this solid shampoo has pieces of rosemary in it, which eventually fall out into the bath tub, and needs to be cleaned up.  For me these are not big issues, but for others they may be.

LUSH's Squeaky Green Solid Shampoo Bar saved my hair!

5

I first walked into LUSH thinking it would be just one more trip to one more store to fruitlessly try to solve my problem hair.  Over the past few years, I'd had it dyed and highlighted several times.  Someone (or more than one person) along the line overprocessed my hair, and it became a nightmare:  greasy and yet dry.  I had to rip tangles down so I could brush it! They had a promotion going then for hair care products in trial-sizes, in which you'd purchase your chose sample sizes to see which you liked, and come back to buy the full-size.  I chose this and another solid shampoo, thinking I'd be back in a couple of weeks with the same nasty hair. This shampoo has made my hair soft, non-greasy, and shiny (in the good way) again!  I felt so helpless with my nasty, ruined hair that I wanted to shave it at times. Squeaky Green has a "green" smell, but is not pungent at all.  Light and airy, the scent lingers in your hair.  It cleans exceptionally well.  One puck (full-sized) lasted me around seven months, and I have hair past my shoulders. I honestly can't recommend it enough.  The one con is that it leaves about one or two pieces of plant in the tub that look very unappealing.

Naturally Clarifying Solid Shampoo

4

Squeaky Green Solid Shampoo by Lush Cosmetics is a good natural alternative to chemically-based clarifying shampoos.  It also helps with itchyness and dandruff.  It may also manage oil if your scalp is oily, I cannot speak from experience since that is not the case for me.  But, since it is a good clarifying shapoo and doesn't residue, it may very well help with oil.  The combination of rosemary, peppermint and tea tree are soothing to the scalp.  This solid shampoo also lathers and cleanses quite well. I have curly hair so, my scalp and hair are quite dry.  I only wash my hair once or twice a week, but I use this product once a month. I would not want to use it more often because it may dry my hair even more.  It may differ for you depending on your scalp and hair type, but whatever the case, only use it on your scalp.  Do not lather throughout your hair (as with any shampoo). Lush solid shampoos are great and without paying for water and platic containers, they say they are equivelant to three bottles of shampoo.

Smells great, but cleans a little too well...

3

I am a huge fan of Lush poducts, and I especially love the idea of the solid shampoo- good for the enviroment, up to 80 shampoos for short hair, easy to travel with and zero packaging, but this one is a bit too harsh. My hair is long and healthy, but this made it feel like straw without a bucket of conditioner to follow up with. This bar also has herbs in it that stick in our hair and catch on the hair as you run the bar over your head. The herbs also wind up all over the shower. I was thrilled when I had used it up. The one great thing is that Lush usually makes five great products for every one that might miss the mark, so I found another one that works great. Still, I would recommend this for someone with really oily hair.
