I was in Tampa, FL and happened into one of the stores there. I tend to have super oily hair, and asked the lady what to use.. she turned me on to this shampoo/conditioner bar with the Happy Happy Joy Joy conditioner. She said to use the bar at the roots, and the conditioner on the ends. The bar helped moisturize my scalp so I didnt over produce oil. I got a little carrying tin to go with it, and I still, to this day, use the Godiva bar and HHJJ conditioner.

I have oily hair but easily to have dandruff if I use those anti-dandruff/ for oily hair shampoo. This shampoo bar works great on my hair. My dandruff reduces and at the same time my hair still very soft and moisturized which other shampoo can't give me. It leathers very well but just like other soap bar it became to harder to use at the end. Sometimes I only use it without conditioner and it still looks nice.

Ahh Godiva, that lingering scent of jasmine on my hair, delicious. I simply love the shampoo bars - no packaging, no water content so cheaper and more energy efficient to ship, ticks so many of my green sensibility boxes. But it also does the trick, which is of course the most important part of a shampoo. It leaves my hair soft, shiny and manageable, though I still need to use a conditioner afterwards I don't need to use as much as I do with other shampoos. Wet hair as normal, rub the bar on your hair a few times and then lather as normal. It lathers up really well and the camellia oil in it helps to counteract the very hard water we have around here so it lathers up beautifully. Don't leave it sitting in water - get a soap dish for it to rest in - or you'll come back to a puddle of mush. Still not sure this makes me proud enough of my hair to ride through Coventry naked (as Lady Godiva did) but I guess you can't expect wonders from a simple shampoo!

I don't tend to pick florally scented shampoos, but this one smelled great to me. It's very easy to use a product like this I take the bar, and run it across my wet hair. It works into a lather effortlessly when I massage it all around my hair. Out of all the LUSH Solid Shampoos this one is suppose to have conditioning properties included. I didn't feel like it conditioned my hair I always have to use a separate conditioner. My hair does feel really clean, and always smells nice. It gives me long lasting body to my hair I get compliments all the time as how I keep my hair to bouncy I tell them I use this shampoo. I keep this product in a soap tin otherwise it will melt away in the shower water. I always look forward to using this shampoo I get really good results, and it's all natural so I know I am not damaging my hair. I highly recommend this if you want to step up your hair routine.

I really, really wanted to like this shampoo. It got rave reviews on the Lush website and I have loved some of the other solid shampoos I've tried. My hair felt wonderfully clean and I had a great "hair day." However, I could.not.stand.the smell. Most reviewers seemed to love it, but it was waaaay too strong for me. I even had to throw the LUSH tin away I stored it in because of the strong scent. This one just wasn't for me, but if you like a strong jasmine scent give it a try. Effectiveness Despite the smell, this did clean my hair very well. "Squeaky clean" to be exact. Scent If you like strong jasmine, you might like this. People on the LUSH site raved about the smell, but it was too strong for me and lasted on my hair for a couple of days despite repeated washings with other shampoos. It initially smells good, but there is a kind of "after smell" that, with apologies to those who love it, I kind of found offensive.

I first visited Lush while getting face soaps. I had no idea what they were about, just that I needed a clear face badly. I had never heard of a shampoo bar and my first thought was "gross" because I pictured the bar getting hair stuck in it, becoming melty and just overall goopy. I do not like a mess, which is why I have always used bottles. Anywho, on the advice of a friend I bought Godiva and Dr. Peppermint. I will only review Godiva here. When I first received my lush box I thought "darn it, something melted" because I smelt the wonderful shampoo scent through the box. Upon opening the box I realized that not only had nothing melted, but everything was wrapped tight. Woah. I was not disappointed the first time I used this soap. It made my whole bathroom/master bedroom smell like an amazing flower explosion. I put the shampoo in the shampoo tin (buy shampoo bars get a tin for free) and no mess! huh, what have I been missing out on? For the rest of the day my wild curly hair felt soft, and smelled great whenever it happened to fall into my face (I work in a daycare, so this happens a lot).  The only complaint I have when using the bar is that once you wear down some soap, the pieces of fruit and the flower petals start melting into your hair, for someone with super curly hair like me, it's not fun to pick this stuff out. Also as the bar wears down, I feel like I am getting less product and more stuff (berries, leaves, flower petals).  It's a good product but I like Dr. Peppermint more. Also, I bought both products August 2009, I wash my hair every night, it's medium legnth -  and I have a good month left in my second bar (Godiva).

I tend to pick shampoos by smell first.  I'm not a floraly person, I actually don't like floral scents, but this one smells great.  It's easy to use: just wet your hair, wet the bar then swipe it across your hair a few times and you're ready to wash your hair like any other shampoo.  Out of all the LUSH solid shampoos this is advertised as having a conditioning agent but I don't really find it to be very conditioning.  I usually need to use a separate conditioner if I want smooth, slick hair.  Be sure to get the travel tin or else this will just melt away in your shower.  I know it can be used as body soap as well, and although I've never done that, it's pretty handy when you travel and want to save space on shampoo/body wash.  Helpful hint about the travel tin in the shower: I don't bother covering the bar in the shower (cause who can get that tin open when your hands are wet) so I use the top half (shallower side) as a dish for the bar, it makes it easier to get the bar out to use.

I have to say that I was a bit skeptical about trying a solid shampoo, I didn't think that I would get that lather that am used to.  I like and need that lather to make me feel like I am really getting my hair clean.  Another concern of mine is that I have salon color treated hair and am afraid of trying anything that might strip my color.  I normally use salon brand shampoos and conditioners made specifically for color treated hair.  I was first attracted to Godiva solid shampoo by the scent.  I received a sample sized puck in a promotional hair kit and I was assured that it would not strip my color, so I decided to try it.  I lathered it in my hands like it was a bar of soap. At first it did not lather very much, so I did my normal routine of rinsing and repeating.  The second time I got tons of luxurious suds, very rich lather.  The shampoo is very moisturizing so you may find that you do not need a conditioner after, but my hair tangles easily and just doesn't feel right if I don't condition, so I followed with Lush Jungle conditioner (also a solid).  Godiva left my my hair smelly lovely, I couldn't stop sniffing my hair afterwards and the pleasant jasmine scent lingers for a good while.  It left my hair feeling full, soft and super silky.  The smell is absolutely intoxicating and addictive. I always look forward to shampooing my hair now.  I love this shampoo!
