I had trouble using this flat iron on my own hair which is very thick, long, and hard to straighten. I had to go over my hair multiple times in some areas to get it right. My daughter has long hair that's very fine and thin and it worked good on her hair. I can quickly straighten her hair and it comes out looking great. I think this is more suited for shorter hair and not so much for thicker hair. I have definitely used better hair straighteners and I probably wouldn't go out and buy another one if the need ever arose, I would get a different brand just because it's not suited for different hair types. I don't think it would be good for homes where there would be multiple users. It is easy to use, and I haven't been burnt or burnt my daughters ears which is a problem I have run into with other brands. The design seems to be better than others because this is the only one I haven't burnt myself on. Anyone with thinner hair would probably like this and get good results but not for people with a thick head of hair.
