I first purchased the L'Occitane Olive Oil line in France years ago. I have very sensitive skin and I am prone to excema, especially on my hands. I had struggled to find a lotion that moisturized without irritating my skin or leaving a sticky or greasy residue behind. This one worked amazingly well from the first time I used it. It absorbs quickly and completely, my skin feels soft and ready to go immediately, unlike other lotions where you feel all sticky for a half hour and are tempted to wipe the lotion off. Most days I spend cleaning my house and chasing kids around, and I wash my hands a lot. I have always though that that is why my hands are the first place the excema flares up, especially during New England winters. With the olive oil in this lotion I feel like there is an invisible barrier that really keeps the moisture in amazingly well. Since they stopped carrying it I have found that their Bonne Mere line works almost as well, though maybe the lack of olive oil in it is why I feel it doesn't last quite so long.

Why L'Occitane en Provence decided to discontinue this Olive Body Milk, I have no idea. This was by far one of their best, lighter body lotions they have ever created. It was by far one of my favorite lotions to use on my body, as well as on my face. Because of its simple formula, with all natural ingredients, I could use it as a facial cream as well as a body lotion while on a trip, avoiding having to bring along several different types of moisturizers. I loved the scent, the texture, the way it made my skin feel, and I hope and pray every day that they will bring it back! Scent This lotion had the most lovely, delicate scent, really natural and reminiscent of Provence and its olive tree groves. Not too strong, not too subtle, just perfect. Absorption This lotion had a perfect texture, not too thick, not too runny, right in the middle, allowing your skin to absorb it quickly and feel soft long after I had applied it on my skin. It also worked well as a face moisturizer. Effectiveness This lotion was very effective at making your skin feel super soft after application and taking away any feeling of dryness after taking a shower. This was a wonderful product that they need to bring back.

Anther excellent product from L'Occitane that smells great and lasts forever. I use this everyday and it is light and absorbs quickly without leaving any oily residue on my skin. I like the olive oil line from L'Occitane, which has been modified over the years to an organic brand. I was disappointed to find this packing is harder to find and I think they have stopped making it altogether, however their newer Olive Organic line also has shea butter. This lotion comes in a huge vat and lasts forever. Some might find it a little thick for their skin, but my skin tends to be dry and when I put this on right out of the shower, it has no problem absorbing right into my skin. I use this product in conjunction with the olive oil body exfoliater, so it is especially nice and caling on my skin after a thorough sloughing in the shower. I hope L'Occitane doesn't stop making this product. Newer is not always better, and it would be a shame to change something that doesn't need any changes at all.

I like L'Occitane products a lot, although they are kind of expensive. This product interested me because I always cook with olive oil and I'm familiar with the health benefits. I thought that if olive oil was a good ingredient for cooking that it might be a good ingredient in lotion, as well! I had also used soaps made from olive oil in the past. I wasn't disappointed by this product - it smelled good,  moisturized my skin. The texture was light - not heavy or greasy at all. My skin is very dry, especially in the winter, and is sometimes sensitive to certain products. My skin didn't have any adverse reactions. While this product is more expensive than the brands that you find at the drug stores or grocery stores, it is very good quality, and I would recommend it. It is clearly made from high quality ingredients. Although I don't purchase it regularly, due to the price, I have to say that if you do purchase, it is worth the money.
