We were excited to make the jump to a front loading washing machine. We were eager to realize the cost/water savings and to have cleaner clothes. The LG machine is slick looking with lots of great options. We enjoy being able to set a pre-rinse with no spin along with an extra rinse. This isn't necessary on normal clothes loads but we use cloth diapers with our daughter and need the extra water to clean and the extra rinse to ensure all the detergent is out of the diapers. The machine does a great job of cleaning the clothes. We have no complaints in this department. The primary issue is the mildew smell. A bit of water seems to sit on the rubber gasket between the tub and the door. It took us a while to figure out what the problem was and why the stench was coming from a load of clean clothes! Since then, we've had to keep the door open between loads to ensure that it dries out completely between loads. Not a very practical arrangement as our washer/dryer is an a bathroom. This makes us certain we won't buy and LG again as it seems to be a problem in many LG machines. Design Seems to get "gunky" and causes a smell.
