This applies to the 3 lb pack. The product used to be the best. It even had a hint of Hoffman American Cheese. Now Kraft has apparently substituted it with Kraft Singles. Very, very disappointing. Did you really think no one would notice or did someone get a bonus with the idea to sell processed goo at a premium price..?

I love Kraft Deli Deluxe American Cheese Slices. My wife and I both like grilled cheese sandwiches. But my favorite choice is to put it on a slice of bread and toast it in an oven or a toaster oven until the cheese bubbles up and browns on top. It used to be sold in 1 oz slices. Apparently, Kraft decided to make us healthier and cut it back to 3/4 oz slices. Now I am having a hard time finding those. The thinner slices just don't bubble up and brown as well. If I have to die from something, let it be from eating the thicker American Cheese slices.

American cheese is already more of a processed cheese product than regular cheese, so it can have a lower taste and quality. But even for American cheese, this is a very low quality. It has a poor taste, and it also has a very poor texture. I have had other brands of American cheese that are still firm and structured like cheese. But this Kraft American cheese has a very strange texture. It is extremely soft, almost as if it is half melted, even when it comes directly out of the refrigerator. It can be passable on a cheeseburger, since a cheeseburger can have melted cheese, especially if there are enough other condiments to help cover the taste. Even there, it is not very good. But it is terrible in a regular sandwich, with meat and crackers, or about any other way that I have tried it. I have been very disappointed in this cheese, and I do not plan to waste my money on it again.

Over the last few months I have been convinced that something in the preparation or formula/recipe for this product has changed. It even feels different when peeled from their single wraps. They are very sticky. The flavor is not as pleasant or intense as it was. I've probably been through 3 or 4 16oz packages before making this conclusion. The new taste feel and texture is real and not imagined. Spoiled a good thing for me!

Kraft Deli Deluxe American Cheese Slices go great with almost everything. It is thicker than regular sliced cheese that is individually wrapped and the taste is very cheesy. It is completely loaded with a mouthwatering flavor of gooey, milky cheese. It is a bit more expensive than the Kraft singles, but the quality is worth every penny.

When it comes to cheese I cannot be fooled. I eat cheese everyday. I wouldn't call me a vegetarian but I'm close to it. So, I eat cheese in everything and in every way possible. This cheese is the best there is. I trust the Kraft name for cheese because it's tried and true. This one melts smoothly on a grilled cheese (my personal favorite) and in any kind of soup. I especially love it because it's not wrapped individually like the processed other kinds and doesn't have that transparent look about it. You just easily peel it off the top and then keep the rest wrapped up and it never dries out. This is the real deal cheese and the only kind I buy for everyday use. It will melt in your mouth every time!

As a child, one of my few all time favorites was grilled cheese with a side of tomato soup. There was few things that could top that and still now, I love the stuff. My kids do too. But you can't capture that crisp grilled cheese taste with just any cheese. Kraft deli Deluxe American Cheese Slices make amazing grilled cheese sandwiches. I was pleasantly surprised the very first time I tried the cheese slices though. They were very much different from the majority of other slices. Although these slices are not individually wrapped, some of the packages have a zip seal on them, mostly the larger packages have them. I personally can't tell the difference in taste between the white American slices and the yellow American slice but, my husband swears there's a difference between the two. The cheese melts easily and isn't made from artificial or imitation based products. No added oils or fillers and no strange after taste. They are bit more pricy than some of the cheeses in the dairy section but they are definitely well worth the price. That's big for me because I am a saver rather than a spender.

I have told family members and friends about Kraft American Deluxe sliced cheese.  This is American cheese the way it used to be before the plastic-wrapped slices.  If you buy the cheese slices in the individual wrappers and then you try the Deluxe sliced cheese that is NOT wrapped that way, you will be amazed.  If you remember when cheese came only without individual wrappers, once you try this cheese, you'll know what I am talking about.  Go buy some and make yourself a grilled cheese sandwich.  Put what's left in a resealable baggie and it will stay fresh and not dry out on you.  You'll never eat that "plastic" cheese again.

I have not found hardly any products from Kraft I don't like.  I use the American Cheese in may casseroles and it works out well.  Melts good, taste is perfect and easy to use. thanks Kraft for all you do
