Wonderful printer puts out high quality photos

5

I absolutely love this all-in-one printer/scanner. It prints very quickly and the quality of the photos are superb. The ink is already dry to the touch when the photos emerge so you have no worries about smearing ink. For standard black and white pages the speed of printing is excellent and photos are also very fast. Replacement inks are available at somewhat less expensive cost than for comparable printers by other manufacturers. The scanner also is excellent. I can't say enough about how happy I am with this printer. I highly reccommend it to anyone looking to be able to produce high quality professional looking photos and also rapid standard print pages.

Worst ever.

If you print in black and white, do not buy this printer. B&W printing uses more color ink than black. Both cartridges need more frequent replacement than in any other printer I've owned. You'll never get a faded print as the printer estimates when you might be low on ink and shuts you down cold until you replace both cartridges. You never reach the bottom of the tanks. The printer is also pricier than others to buy and is more complicated to use.

Not So Inexpensive

I thought that this would be a good purchase last year, but it has turmed out to be a costly one. My biggest complaint is the paper tray size. It is a fraction too small. You can only place one or two sheets of paper in it easily. Try to add any more and it just does not fit. It's as if the paper is too wide.. but I use standard copy/printer paper. The ink runs out too fast as well. The reason that the ink cartridges are cheaper than other printers is because you are purchasing less ink. I have also had to replace the printerhead (which Kodak sent me for free) but still to me, I see this printer as a complete fraud! On a positive note, the scanner is great! You can scan a group of pictures and it will save them all as separate files or as a collage, whichever you like. I am now in the market for a new printer.

Don't love it, but it gets the job done

My husband and I bought this printer to replace our old printer/scanner setup. We chose this one because it supposedly had a small footprint, printed high quality photos, and was cost-effective. But I'm a little disappointed. First of all, it's not really *that* small. It's the size of our old printer, but with a scanner. That's nice, but our old scanner was very slim and hardly took up any room, so this printer isn't a huge improvement. It does print pretty good quality photos and documents, so no problems there, and I'm still pleased with the scanning function, wireless function, and the amount we paid for the whole thing. But oh my, is this printer slow! It uses a different type of ink cartridge from our last printer, so we printed a few things with the old one to use up the ink. The old printer printed about 100 pages in less time than it took the new one to print 50! This printer also quite frequently has issues with paper jams, which is annoying and wasteful. It's not bad enough for me to go out and buy a different one, but I don't know if I'd buy it again.

The Kodak ESP 3 All in One Printer has been troublesome.

We husband bought me the Kodak ESP 3 All in One Printer so that I could print quality pictures. I did that a few times, but now it's just as cheap to get that printed on a website. However, we still used the Kodak ESP 3 All in One Printer for other printing uses. This is probably one of the worst printers I've owned and I am so sad to have to say that considering it is made by Kodak. What I DID like about the Kodak ESP 3 All in One Printer is the special features it offerred through the accompanied CD. AND I do love the scanner/printer option. Though the printer has since stopped working on us, I am still able to use the scanner. I also liked that the print was relatively less expensive, however it seemed to not last very long. Ok, what I do not like about the Kodak ESP 3 All in One Printer! When it worked, the paper would jam almost always (especially if my husband was operating it!). The inks never seemed to be just right no matter how hard we tried to follow the instructions to get it better. In the end, this printer died on us because of yet another paper jam. It left me quite frustrated!

nice inexpensive printer

Over all I am happy with this printer.  It is easy to use and prints beautifully!  I don't think the ink lasts as long as they say.  It is nice that the price of the ink is less expensive than others!

Great printer but saving on ink is it true?

3

I bought this Kodak all-in-one easy printer to save on ink. Since I have had this printer I have had to replace the printer head (in which Kodak did it for free), and I had to replace my ink every month and a half. I do not print or copy as much as a company or anything. Just recently I had a problem. I tried to print all my documents in black ink because I was out of color ink. Nothing would print. I contacted Kodak, they told me the color ink helps the black ink make black ink. Then why buy the black ink? Here I am supposed to have on ink but I have to buy both black and color ink in order to print ANYTHING! I find this very in convent

Don't be fooled-not a great printer!

I was sucked in by a great ad online.  In the ad they showed a pile of pages that you could expect some other brand of printer to print on average with their ink cartridges.  Then they showed a much, much larger pile that the Kodak Esp3 printer would print with their ink cartridges.  Now, this pile looked to be atleast three times larger.  To further impress consumers they offer their ink at a much reduced price compared to other brands.  However, what they advertised and what I got were two different things.  I can't believe they got away with that.  Yes, the ink's cheaper.  NO!  It does not print anywhere near the amount of pages they said it would.  This printer doesn't even print the amount of pages as they showed the competition does.  As far as quality of print, it's average.  Another downer, and this is important, is that if your black cartridge runs empty but you still have color ink, you cannot print anymore.  No, you cannot just print in color, or vica verca.  It will not print until you replace the one that's empty.  I have even gone through the hassle of having Kodak replace the print head that houses the cartridges.  Made no difference.  Don't fall for it.

I wouldn't suggest this printer to anyone

2

After very much research and reading reviews, I bought the Kodak ESP-3 printer because it was a little less expensive than the other printers and the ink was very inexpensive.  I have only heard good things about Kodak products so I figured I would take a shot at this printer.  After only having it 6 months, the printer will work - it will not print at all!  I put brand new ink cartridges in it thinking it was the ink that had gone bad.  However, even after the new ink was put in, the black ink will not work. It seems like the ink compartment on the printer dried out or something. The color ink will print only. I cannot afford to have it taken into a computer shop; it would probably cost more to do thta then what I paid for it. Additionally, I cannot afford a new printer right now, so I have just done without for several months.  I would not suggest this product to anyone because I think it is a waste of money.

Kodak ESP-3 is easy to use and ink is very reasonable.

The Kodak ESP-3 printer is a great printer to have for someone that wants a all in one printer that also does pictures.  This printer allows you to use your camera cards directly in the printer to print pictures or to upload to your computer.  It was easy to install and instructions were easy to follow.  It is alittle more nosier when printing than some I have had, but that is the only thing that I can say that I have found while using the printer.  This is really such a small thing I don't really consider it a problem.  The ink is so much cheaper than any other printer I have had or even checked on.  The ink lasts as long or longer than other brands I have had and it is very easy to install.  The ink is seperated in two tanks so you only have to replace the black or the colored when one runs out.  I have seen some deals online for the ink but haven't tried any of them.  I would recommend the printer to you and would purchase another one if I needed another printer.
