A Cheap And Effective Kitchen Tool

5

For the record: The KitchenAid Citrus Juicer isn't really a kitchen appliance. It's more like a kitchen tool. It's not electric or anything. I bought it after coming home from my aunt's house with grocery bags full of grapefruits and realizing I didn't have room in my kitchen for all that citrus. I also didn't have room in my budget for a fancy electric mixer. The KitchenAid Citrus Juicer was the perfect solution! It's just a simple juicing cone that strains into a handy container. Simple and effective. It takes some work to juice a lot of fruit at one time (like I did) but is still significantly easier that cutting and squishing the fruit by hand without a juicer. Trust me. I tried! I got easily twice as much juice with half as much work from a single grapefruit using this baby. Totally worth the few bucks I spent on it. Plus, unlike an electric appliance, the entire thing is dishwasher safe. Score.

Very basic juicer for small amounts of juice

Let's face it, this is not an electric juicer that's going to produce large quantities of juice. It wouldn't be fair to compare or rate it like that. The KitchenAid Citrus Juicer is a nice juicer to have on hand when you need small quantities of lime, lemon, tomato, etc. juice for recipes. It is also ok to use when you want to make a single glass of juice to drink. It is very budget friendly and can be found at a lot of stores. Overall, if you don't drink much juice this is a nice thing to have for small jobs. Pulp Setting Effectiveness You cannot control the pulp extremely well with this. If you are looking for something that you can this may not be the best choice. Stability While in Use This is very easy to use. It is handheld so you are in control of keeping it still and stable. Ease of Cleaning I love that this is so easy to use and clean. It is so small that you don't have to have a lot of space to store it. You don't have to mess with plugging it in and being careful or taking it apart when you clean it. I rinse it or wash it by hand or put it in the dishwasher.

Great for occasional use

This is an excellent little citrus juicer! We have owned this product for a few years and have used it many many times. Until we got our larger citrus juicer we used this one, but mostly for just little amounts of citrus juice (a small glass of orange juice, citrus juice to include in a recipe, et cetera). It is very easy to use and is very effective. A little of the pulp gets into the juice, but it's pretty easy to pick the pieces out because it's generally just a couple. This product is very stable too considering your hand is holding it in place. It is super easy to clean as well -- easy to hand wash or even pop in the dishwasher. Even a quick rinse between citrus juices does the trick if you're using it immediately but just need to get the lemon juice off before switching to grape fruit. If you are not an avid juicer and just need a little juice here and there for recipes and things look no further. This is the juicer you need. Our family loves it and highly recommends it!

Handy for Quick Cooking Juicing

4

I like this Kitchen Aid Citrus Juicer for the basics, when its not about making something to drink, or for a lot of juice-this is about milliliters instead of several ounces. Its handy and you don't have to fool with electronics. Pulp Setting Effectiveness Its difficult to handle how much pulp you get with this hand juicer, but that's not what I use it for. This is for getting lime, lemon, or some other citrus juice needed for a recipe, one glass of lemonade, making a mixed drink-not for making a full glass of orange juice. If you are fussy about pulp, perhaps it isn't the best choice. Stability While in Use This is about your hand's stability more than the juicer itself. It is about how well your hands work to grip the juicer and the fruit. Ease of Cleaning Very easy to clean-you can put it in the dishwasher if you want to. I enjoy electric juicing, but I like the ease of cleaning this hand held device. Durability I haven't broken it yet! You probably could if you gripped it too hard. Versatility/Number of Features Only versatile in the sense of fruits-not in how much juice you get. Design This is a simple and practical, "old-fashioned" sort of design.

Kitchenaide citrus juicer

This is not a juicer that you plug in, you are basically juicing by hand just using the cone to make it somewhat easier. I received this as a wedding gift and I did not like it too much. You had to press the fruit really hard into the cone and twist repeatedly until you got all the juice out. All the pulp from the juice went right into the container and it was pretty messy. The only thing I liked about this was that it came with an attached container to catch the juice. Pulp Setting Effectiveness There is no pulp setting on this product. Most of the pulp went right into the bottom container with all the juice. Stability While in Use You had to be able to hold this down with one hand while pressing and twisting the fruit with the other hand. Not very easy to do. I ended up tipping it a few times and getting juice all over the counter. Ease of Cleaning It's only two pieces that come apart easily so cleaning was a breeze. Durability It was made of hard plastic so would hold up well through the years. Versatility/Number of Features Only feature on this is the cone to juice your fruit on. Design It's a nice design, small enough to store easily.
