Archittect Microwave

I love this microwave. It h.as an unusual shape that allows for a bigger interior with less exterior space. It looks great and works great. It is on the pricier side but well worth it. Performance Has many options and includes several additional pieces of equipment to bake, broil and fry. Very easy to clean.

Great product, no complaints

I have had this microwave oven for about a year now. I have been extremely pleased with it. No mechanical problems or other discernible issues. I noticed another reviewer mentioned needing an extended warranty, but I haven't had any issues that have required me to contact the manufacturer in any way. I find it does a great job heating food evenly and quickly. I also love the buttons - you just touch them rather than "pushing" them. The stainless steel color looks fabulous in my kitchen and is also very easy to clean; just a quick wipe with a wet paper towel. Overall, I've been more than pleased with this microwave and would absolutely recommend it to others!

This KitchenAid Microwave is just what I needed!

This KitchenAid microwave has been just the microwave oven I need for every day use. It has touch tone buttons. I use the defrost feature quite often when I forget to thaw something for dinner. I also use the 30 second intervals button a lot when warming up items rather than actually putting in a set time. It does a great job of heating foods evenly. I have had no problems at all with my microwave. I find it very easy to clean too. If I had it to do over again, I would definitely purchase this microwave.

I've owned this microwave for almost a year. This is an over-the-oven convection oven/ microwave with grill/browning cycle.    I chose the microwave after our whirlpool Gold door broke for the second time.  When looking for a replacement I wanted something that was going to hold up better to the wear and tear of normal use and have a better quieter hood fan.  the Kitchenaid offers a bowed out front so there is more space for larger dishes.  The controls are on the bottom part of the door so making it easy to reach the buttons for those of us that aren't very tall.  It offers convection cooking, microwave cook, browning and combinations of all three.  I initially believed I would use the convection oven as a replacement to my large gas oven for most cooking however it hasn't worked out that way.  Remembering which rack (it comes with two) and how to use it has made it not worth the hastle.  The 3 times I used the convection feature it took over an hour for the unit to heat up and even longer to cook the food.  This could however just be a problem with me not doing it right.  I do use the browning cycle (browning pan also comes with the unit) often and love it.  The exhaust fan does not seem any better or quieter than my old one and when you use the convection oven the fan comes on automatically and  is quite loud."I hope you bought the extended warranty on this one!"- quote from maintenance person fixing the microwave. After about 6 months the door of the microwave cracked just like my old microwave.  It took 3 visits to get the door replaced and both of the guys that came to work on it had the same warning.  They said the door breaking was probably not from my opening/closing  it but from the stove heat.  It's apparently an ongoing problem with over stove microwaves. They warned that this Microwave door is expensive and more complicated to fix because of the electronics in it.   A few weeks after the door was fixed the microwave started to sporadically making extremely loud vibrating noise as bright light filled the inside of the microwave from a metal cover on the ceiling of the unit.  The repair person couldn't recreate the problem so he didn't fix it although he had an idea of what the cause was.    His suggestion was to let it blow up next time it happens and hopefully quit working, then  said " I hope you bought the extended warranty on this one!"
